The location of our room - ground floor, front, spending on the street and at the entrance door and reception - with the necessary noise attached and the unsavory smell in the bathroom (there was an air freshener so probably a known problem) we found less.
The hospitality, the delicious breakfast and the beautiful garden with pool made the lesser feeling quickly forgotten.
It is a lovely, basic hotel with high ceilings and relatively well equipped. Air con. French doors over looking back of property (far nicer than front). I feel that the reviews precovid might depict a better experience in terms of breakfasts which for us was unenjoyable, with little choice and the same thing the whole holiday. Because we upgraded from the standard room (which is a terrible location and soul-less) we were lucky to have had a kitchenette. This meant we could buy in our own food and have breakfast in our room.
The pool and gardens are delightful, quiet of occupants but ... Not the fault of the hotel, surrounded by dogs barking and crying which is not relaxing.
The town is very quiet with nothing to do but there is a lovely restaurant next door with stunning views and good food. Everything is a drive away so if you like quiet it's great. But you will need a car. Although the church outside the hotel does chime every 15 mins. As the days roll on you sort of get used to (except the 7.30am jingle!).
The bed in the room is incredibly firm but everything did feel clean.
So although we mostly enjoyed our stay, the staff are friendly and the place is clean, it is unlikely we would return. It's a great stop over place.
"Room 81: large, vaulted, well air-conditioned with hidden kitchenette. Pleasant view. In a quiet historic annexe."Read full review
"Rear rooms face the garden. Some also have distance sea views. Our room facing the front of the hotel and the Church was warm and cosy."Read full review
