Detailed Reviews
We had booked a stay at Arthur’s Views for a very much needed weekend away in July but due to the COVID-19 lockdown being experienced once again, we sadly had to cancel. We had no idea if we would be refunded our money or at the very least be offered a credit.
Greg and Helen are amazing. I didn’t have to say a thing when I spoke to Helen on the phone. She knew why I was calling and showed kindness and compassion and quickly offered to refund the money knowing how difficult the situation is for all of us in Melbourne.
My husband and I have told many of our family and friends about this wonderful place and the even more wonderful couple who own it. And we will definitely be rebooking a stay at Arthur’s Views once restrictions have been eased as will some of our friends.
Thank you Greg and Helen for being amazing!

My wife and I have stayed at many B & Bs all through Victoria and beyond and this is up there as one of our best. I don't usually bother to write a review but this place is worth the time. We stayed at the Chapman Suite and I can only vouch for this particular suite but I'm sure they are all at this standard. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and comfortable, the double spa amazing, the double cinema recliner was cosy, the finishing to the design was flawless and the views were hard to look away from. We were lucky with the weather. Try to pick a day with light wind from the south or south-west. We didn't realise that you can order a normal breakfast smaller than the hamper. That was our only mistake as we waited for checkout to visit a cafe for brunch as we couldn't leave the view. 5 star in my opinion. We'll be back.

We went here for a much needed holiday after lockdown lifted. The view is phenomenal, really made us feel like we were in a great new location despite being so close to Melbourne. We spent a sunny afternoon on the balcony in the sun, and a rainy night in the huge spa and in front of the warm fire. Will absolutely be coming back!
We also got one of the breakfasts, and it was also top notch.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in the Bowen Suite. It is at the bottom of the building, down some steep steps, but still has an amazing view. The room is very comfortable, with plentiful breakfast supplies. The suite has a large tub, not spa, also with a view over the bay. Would highly recommend it.

We had our first out of Iso stay and wanted to go somewhere quiet and secluded. Arthurs Views accommodation was perfect. The Eyrie apartment has spectacular daytime views over Dromana and surrounds and the night view was absolutely breathtaking.
We had everything we needed in the apartment, no need to venture out. We enjoyed some wine, watched some Netflix and took in the view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Helen and Greg.

Easy to book, spectacular views and a genuinely lovely experience with exceptional customer service. My wife accidentally left a jacket, customer service had it in the mail back to us the next day, my wife was greatly appreciative. Thank you Arthur’s view for beautiful wedding anniversary experience 🥰 The Evertsen

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Flinders Penthouse. The views are simply spectacular! The massive balcony is completely private. The kitchen, dining and living room are well equipped and very comfortable. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean and self checkin was very easy. We were glad to arrive in daylight though as the one way nature of the road is not immediately clear. On a minor point, a milk frother would be a welcome addition to this amazing property. 5 stars from both of us, and we will definitely return.

I totally agree with the reviews on trip advisor, we should not have gone and stayed here. We stayed at the penthouse for our 25th anniversary, Yes , the view is magnificent, but the rest is a disappointment. Room badly needs updating (1980s decor), why not hire a interior designer to help with it ?Cobwebs on the windows is very distracting, when was it cleaned the last time ?
The meager breakfast provision really annoys me. This place is surrounded with the most delicious local food producer ( Red Hill etc), and yet we got a few slices of stale bread which have been stored in the fridge, KRAFT(!) peanut butter (in those small plastic one serve packets) and other supermarket style jam, what's wrong with the management here ? we don't need cooked breakfast ( although it would be nice), How about a nice basket of freshly baked bread from the local bakery, with some local fresh produce of jams, and preserves, fresh local fruits, delivered to the door in the morning? I think this is achievable. The last straw that broke the camel's back was the knocking on the door at 11.10 am the next day by a rude cleaning woman, told us to get out now because she has been waiting to clean the room. Yes, we were a bit late for check out, but how about a nice request, like " would you mind?" "please" "thank you" These simple words get you far. Definitely will not stay here again and will not recommend it. Next time, we will stay at George's B&B with cooked breakfast ( just down the road, with the same view!)

Well the views are perhaps to die for, but if you want anything extra in this place it's a bit like asking the owner/manager to die for you....
We just wanted to hole up for the one night after having a busy few months, so purchased a few nibblies and some gourmet sausages from DOC in Monrington on the way to the accomm. When we arrived we had a quick look around the enormous kitchen to find it so poorly equipped with next to nothing available for even one night in.
I approached the less than friendly owner/manager to see if we could use a barbeque (plenty of room for one on that huge balcony), only to be told that they don't encourage people to eat in and that we should either get take-away food or eat out at a restaurant.
I explained that we wanted to stay in, did not want to drink and drive, and so an initial perfunctory look around revealed not one frypan in the whole establishment! After standing my ground, one was eventually found. I was also informed that an extra $30 may be charged for cleaning the kitchen, what a joke!
If you are going to charge outrageous prices then you expect a little more than a few sachets of International Roast, the worlds smallest child-sized yoghurts and yesterdays stale bread for breakfast, (which yes - you have to prepare breakfast yourself anyway).
All in all, a huge dissapointment for the price, the owners have a lovely product to which they are just not doing justice. In the hospitality industry you can't afford to be mean spirited or people will go elsewhere to spend the big bucks!

Response from ArthursViews, Owner at Arthurs Views
Responded 6 Jan 2012
We try really hard to keep everyone happy and with over a thousand guests per year...well some are just not going to be happy for whatever reason. Whilst Arthurs Views has 4 seperate luxury suites, we all share the same roofline and only 1 suite has a full kitchen facility. As owners we decided not to promote that kitchen facility as we thought it unfair that other guests who maybe are sharing a romantic moment (we are a couple only retreat) or indulging in say a hot rock therapy while having an in room massage, might find it unpleasant to have the smell of garlic sausages or fish being cooked? We do not advertise the kitchen but it does come with kitchen-ware for re heating or cooking a pasta etc. The guest is right the balcony on the Penthouse is huge and the views from it stunning, but there is no BBQ on it (we are also in a high risk bush fire area, so the safety of other guests is paramount) and a request to find one on the spot was a little left field! We are situated in the middle of one of Victoria's Premier wine regions with "Hat rated" restaurants such as Montalto, Ten Minutes by Tractor and The Long Table Restaurant all within a 5 min or so drive from Arthurs Views. So if you dont want to drink and drive then take a cab or use the Red Hill Shuttle service and get out and enjoy some of the local culture, especially if you are staying one night, who wants to cook with these great restaurants and wineries around you? Interestingly the person who stayed the very next night left this message in the guest book..."we have travelled the world but here in our backyard is the best view and room in the world. Thank you for a great 40th Anniversary...D&D" I guess beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder...

This B & B is exactly as advertised. First rate. It delivered at all levels. It is a luxury stay. You don’t see the owners but the flow of texts and offers of assistance are great. The view is world class. It was quiet and relaxing.

Hi Josh. Apologies for not seeing this enquiry when it was made. For future reference all of the rooms or apartments face the same way and have magnificent views of the Bay.
