Chris Ronalde and Win Will Me and my partner had a memorable stay at the Waitakere Resort and Spa- away from the city just serene and peaceful atmosphere to unwind and relax. The road trip was so beautiful with such beautiful scenic forest view. Our check in was smooth and quick. We were welcomed by the lovely Mira. Thank you Mira 🙂 Our room was so beautiful and neat. We had a lovely and thoughtful welcome card by Duncan.🙂The view from our room was awesome ....especially at night to see the Auckland City with the splendid City lights. Dinner was delicious many thanks to the Chef and lovely Janet who served us kindly and checked on us to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We had a peaceful sleep the beds were comfortable and at night we left the balcony door open to hear the sounds of the wild birds at night....and the cool breeze altogether made it so relaxing!!. Breakfast was very filling and our thanks to Arona for being very efficient during a busy morning and keeping up a smile the whole time. We will definitely be back !!! Thank you Duncan you are an amazing Host....!!! You and your team made us feel really special🙂

Stayed here for my wedding anniversary and booked the romance package. The premier room in the new wing is modern and spacious and from the second level one of the best views I have ever seen of Auckland .We could see the coromandels in the distance and the wine and cheeseboard went well on the deck after a swim in the pool , the pool is NOT heated so was a little chilly to start and not the deepest, dosnt really utilise the stunning views and could do with a upgrade. Dinner was nice but very limited menu of 3 items for each course and maybe they should drop the soils as it’s a bit last decade and didn’t really add to the experience pricing is up there with High end restaurants in the city I’m not sure it’s quite at that level. Staff at reception were fantastic as were the front of house. There was a bar area but didn’t seem to be in use not sure why as a pre dinner drinks would have been nice Would stay again

We enjoyed the entire experience. Beautiful room, everything spotless, wonderful food and an exquisite place to stay. Way up in dense native bush, magical views across to Auckland. Hard to believe we were so close to the city yet staying surrounded by wonderful forest clad hills, peace and quite. GREAT service and enjoyed a relaxing stay. THANKS

Terrible. Food was inedible, not fresh, scones were like rocks. Tea was not served until we asked for it, at the very end. 'Senior'staff member touched the food with her bare hands and when we complained will not own up to it (and is claiming she used tongs)- it was in of front of 12 people there is no denying it! Disappointing to say the least. Worst high tea I've ever been to.

Stayed here in Sept. Gardens were beautiful on the drive down to the resort, but the beauty stopped there. Carpark by reception is small and there is not enough parking. Staff at the front desk were casual, not professional. When asked what there is to do, her answer was relax or go for a swim in the cold pool. All the decor was very old and dated. Got to our room, which was a generous size, and while the bathroom had been updated everything else about the room was dated, which was fitting as it matched the reception and lounge area by the front desk.It was also absolutely freezing in the room, we turned the heater on and despite having it on for ours it didn’t heat up. We had to stay in our outside coats while in the room. I would say this is a 3 star resort at best and I wouldn’t recommend staying here when there are so many other nicer options in Auckland.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We are very disappointed to hear that you found the room cold and the staff lacking in professionalism; this is certainly not the guest experience that we are aiming for and not feedback that we have had in recent times. If you had difficulties with the heating in your room, we hope that you raised it with a staff member to see if it could be rectified during your stay. A stay at Waitakere Resort & Spa is all about relaxing and enjoying the surroundings which may not suit everyone's tastes; there are a number of lovely walks around the estate which are detailed in the compendium and the Day Spa has treatments rooms and a lovely sauna, and small gymnasium to complement the outdoor pool.
