A secluded boutique island retreat with luxurious touches befitting an exclusive island resort. Intimate, with only 16 spacious, incredibly private pool villas makes this resort unique. But it is the intangible aspects of this barefoot luxury retreat that sets it aside and offers an indulgent escape for true romantics.

We spent 5 nights on this beautiful small island. Our Villa was spacious with amazing views from the huge deck and private plunge pool. I think this was my 10th visit to Fiji and this was by far my favorite resort. The island is fully surrounded by coral reef so no matter the wind or tide there was always somewhere calm to snorkel. The house reef was alive and vibrant, as were the spectacular variety or fish, turtles and baby sharks we swam with daily. We loved our night snorkelling where we saw lobsters, turtles and lion fish. We also found our guided snorkel to the outer reef well worth the excursion. The marine staff, Ben and Ray where so knowledgeable about the reef and everything in it. The private picnic to the sand cay is also a must.
Everyone usually says you don’t go to Fiji for the food but Davui is the exception. Each meal was of a high quality that you would expect in a good Sydney restaurant. There was plenty of variety and we also loved the vegetarian options.
We were super impressed with all the staff and especially pleased with the managers and owners who all bent over backwards to make sure the holiday was perfect.
Our luxury escapes package included a daily spa treatment which we loved and it added to the complete relaxation of the holiday.
The resort has worked hard at reducing single use plastics which is fabulous for such a high end resort. Unlike other parts of Fiji we didn’t see any plastics floating in the ocean or washed up on beaches the entire visit.
We usually like to visit different resorts but this one will keep us coming back. We can’t wait to receive a big Fijian welcome from all the staff when we return.

From the moment we stepped onto the tiny plane to take us to the Royal Davui Island Resort, we stepped away from our everyday reality and into a completely new experience of this beautiful land and tropical island paradise get away. The whole experience was world class secluded, private and so relaxed.
The service was outstanding - The staff were so friendly and attentive, the food was abundant with lots of choices and variety.
The Villa had a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean, it was airconditioned and very clean. It was serviced twice a day.
There was internet and wifi, a mini bar and filtered water.
Lots on offer to do or not. Lots of water sports and a lovely Spa that I would highly recommend.
The location was truly out of the way and was a bit tricky to get to as you have to line up your International Flight arrival/departure with the time of the plane and boat to take you to and from the island but we didn't encounter any problems to get there and back. The travel is worth it as when you get there you are truly private and remote.
There are many activities on offer on a daily basis and the bar in the evening is lots of fun.
What I liked the most was the excellent service and the effort that went in the daily meals which were different each and every day with lots of things to choose from.
The thing I liked the least was getting heat stroke and sunburn despite using 50SPF but that's just me...I'm very fare and burn easily. Do not let that put you off as I would love to visit again

I don't usually write reviews, however after our wonderful holiday I feel compelled. It is also difficult, to put into words, just how special this resort really is.
Everything at Royal Davui was perfect! We are frequent travellers to many locations across the world, from 5 star to budget and Royal Davui is our favourite.
We stayed for a few days as a couple, then our adult children joined us for a few more days, to celebrate our anniversary.
The location is amazing...snorkelling and kayaking straight of the beach or jetty in crystal clear water. There's lots of activities to choose from - jet skis, fishing, sailing, diving, hiking, trips to the mainland or a game of volleyball with the staff.
Every single staff member was genuinely warm, friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday special. They greet you with a song, serenade you with songs at dinner and farewell you with a song.
Most activities are designed for couples, however the staff happily tailored any activity we wanted to do, to meet the needs of our larger group of six, They even sang to us for our anniversary!
The food is plentiful, delicious and one of the highlights of this destination. No compulsory buffets or prepared meals. We enjoyed lots of local produce, freshly prepared. Any (or all) meals can be served in your villa if you wish.
The best part of this resort is the peace, quiet and privacy. You can enjoy your villa balcony and plunge pool in complete privacy - no one can see you. You have the option of seeing no one for days if you want...or you can venture to the bar for evening cocktails with the other guests and swap stories of your days adventures.
To all the staff we say vinaka vaka levu for our amazing holiday and sota tale (see you soon)

We’ve just arrived home after our second stay at Royal Davui and once again it was amazing. Chris and Grant are fabulous hosts and all of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, they really do make you feel like you’ve come home.
Everything was seamless, from getting us to the resort from Nadi to returning us back to Nadi, it all just flowed. Even the Covid tests were done with no trouble at the resort which saved us having to try and organise them ourselves.
Our villa was beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and separate lounge with wet bar, such a bonus and the revamped plunge pool looked amazing. It’s a great place to sit with a glass of something delicious whilst gazing across the blue water to the neighbouring island.
The food was so good and the fresh modern menu was most appreciated, with lots of variety. We didn’t see the same thing twice in the week we were there. The wine and cocktail list is as long as your arm, so spoilt for choice!
We indulged in a daily massage each in the gorgeous spa, with a view to die for, the spa girls are second to none and there all sorts of pampering treatments on offer.
You can do as little or as much as you like and whilst I like a good book and a pool my husband took advantage of the diving, fishing and snorkelling. He caught an enormous tuna and the chef prepared the most delicious sashimi for us that night, can’t get much fresher than that.
We have already booked our return trip for next year as it’s just that good. If you want a bit of luxury thrown in with privacy and seclusion as well as amazing food and views etc then come to Royal Davui.
Vinaka to Chris, Grant and all the wonderful staff.

We went here for our honeymoon, traveling from the US. This island was the last 3 nights of our trip and it couldn't have ended on a higher note. Traveling to Royal Davui was an awesome start - the extra charge for the private plane is definitely worth it, we had a private flight and got to see Vitu Levu from the sky.

We went during the off season so there were only 3 other couples on the island and we felt like everyone was attentive and accommodating to us. The whole visit feels very personalized from the warm welcome (with singing!) to the customized "Daily Davui" handout. The free non-motor activities give you plenty to do once there without having to mind your wallet all the time.

The view from the villa was also incredible, our view overlooked the neighboring island Beqa and was completely private. The plunge pool heated well and the whole set up was very clean and beautiful. The only bad moment was we had some ants that came out of the hot tub, but we didn't mind because the plunge pool was the main attraction anyways.

We also did the 3-day spa package which definitely put us in the vacation mood!

kmtravellers were apprehensive about going back to Fiji. We are not really “Hi Guys” and “Bulla Bulla” type people. As we sped across the sea in a comfortable speedboat towards the Royal Davui Island, I wondered whether we should have gone to a larger, more impersonal place. As soon as we arrived and were settled, all doubts disappeared. The peace, the food, the service and the spirit of this island is truly magical. The rooms are well appointed and generous with cookies provided and a fruit platter refreshed. The food was healthy while being very generous and tasty. The interesting menu was minimal in choice but somehow catered for everyone. The outlook from the restaurant and from the room was wonderful and an engaged GM and her husband made sure that no guests left unhappy. We will be back.

We stayed here for 5 nights over Xmas at the start of our honeymoon and had a brilliant time. The sunset villa was gorgeous and having a plunge pool on the deck to cool off in was great. The location is great but as everyone says it is the staff that make this place extra special. From Kimi who organised the local village choir to come and sing carols for us all, to the girls in the spa who were fantastic, and Meli on the bar who looked after us so well. John and Kathy hosted an amazing Xmas day lunch, and helped made us feel totally relaxed. We took a helicopter back, which I would recommend for the views. Vinaka to everyone on the island for an amazing stay.

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Royal Davui Island Resort with my husband. The attention to detail, the ambiance, and the amenities, from private plunge pools to amazing spa treatments, are unparalleled. The resort exudes elegance and privacy, making it a perfect sanctuary. However, what truly differentiates Royal Davui is its team. Their dedication and warmth make you feel like family, creating an atmosphere where you arrive as guests but leave feeling like family. The culinary experience was top-notch, and the location in Fiji's Beqa Lagoon is simply breathtaking. If you're looking for the pinnacle of Fijian luxury, this is it!

We went on our honeymoon cautiously optimistic based on the reviews but Royal Davui surpassed all our expectations. Like the other reviews, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful without being intrusive, particularly the dining staff.

The food is outstanding and well portioned. It's not going to be a Michelin starred restaurant but it is still wonderful and the fish is always incredibly fresh. We had the fish we caught fishing in the morning for sashimi for dinner that night! Each meal typically is 2 - 3 courses of which you can choose from 2 - 3 dishes for each course so if you and your partner enjoy trying everything, it's a perfect opportunity to split dishes.

The sand cay picnic is a once in a lifetime experience, splurging on a helicopter transfer for at least 1 leg is worth it, and snorkeling off the pier was always enjoyable each day. Definitely bring a pair of reef shoes as you can walk around the island at low tide seeing the coral and the blue starfish.

The prices at the bar were also not bad and ~10% cheaper than resorts on Denarau Island we also stayed at. Unless you require alcohol to be included in your all-inclusive stay (for much more than Davui), this is going to be your best most romantic and private resort to find in Fiji!

We have just spent a pretty well perfect week at Royal Davui.
This is a lovely resort with great people running it and working in it. There is a good balance of the professional and the personal here.
The villa was wonderful, private, with a view to die for. It was clean and very comfortable.
The food was great with a variety of dishes offered each meal and all of a very high standard.
The staff were engaged, helpful and friendly.
The reef just off the front beach is beautiful.
I did 6 scuba dives. The dive master and his team were very competent and focussed on safety which was great. For some of the dives the wind had got up so visibility suffered but there was still interesting stuff to see. The shark dive is cool.
The bar and restaurant area serves as a meeting place each evening so you can chat with people from all over the world. The owners Chris and Grant made a point of chatting with the guests as well which we enjoyed.
If you want to escape, relax and be spoiled on a unique tropical island resort this may be the place for you. It was for us.

Bula Steven, If you have booked directly with the resort you can expect a pre-arrival form to be sent out a few weeks before your arrival. This form has information pertinent to transfers as well as options to pre-book some of the more popular activities on the resort. If you have not booked directly with the resort, I would recommend getting in touch with us so we have your contact details on file. Sadly we're not permitted to post contact details in the forum, so please visit our official website to get in touch with us. Vinaka Chris

Bula Vinaka Gavinwink, Weather is always a funny question with Fiji. Firstly, the apps like Weather, Accueather etc really are not at all accurate for Fiji. There are only two weather stations in Fiji - and they are located on the mainland. The islands have a far different weather pattern to the mainland. Sometimes we sit out on the island in full sunshine looking back toward the mainland which is covered in cloud. October is a lovely time to travel - the weather is still lovely with warm days and cool evenings. I hope this helps a little
