This is a real chateau with a moat, towers and all. My room was wonderful and tastefully decorated. A good breakfast is served in a room with a fireplace and beautifully painted wooden ceiling. With Saumur within ten minutes drive, it is a great place to explore the Loire valley. But most importantly, Marité is an exceptionally friendly and welcoming host, she made me feel like a friend rather than a hotel guest. I would love to be back one day!

Staying with Monsieur Sebastian at Chateau de Nazé is like visiting your favorite cousin. He is so friendly, his breakfasts are wonderful, and our room was better than we even imagined when we booked. The drive in the early evening through the wooded drive is enchanting. We felt like Louis 14 royalty in our carriage. The first view of the chateau from outside the moat just confirmed we had made the right choice. Once inside, we were wowed by the feeling of ancient genteelness in the best way. If you are looking for an American style bland hotel room, this is not for you. But if you want an adventure in old time French joie de vivre, I promise you will agree with everything I wrote.

Very beautiful castle, close to the motorway (convenient), but without any noise in a pretty park where we saw deer in the morning. We felt like guests, thanks to the welcome from Elwan and Adrien, extremely kind and efficient. Large and very pleasant room. Perfect silence and breakfast (excellent) in a room with painted ceilings and a large fireplace. It was raining so we didn't use the pool

I state that the structure, externally, is very particular and suggestive. To host, however, you must pay attention to cleanliness and provide for the maintenance of the rooms. In summary, there was dust everywhere, tub/shower not working well in addition to a breakfast to review widely. We did not try the pool because the morning after arrival we left changing structure. It is not recommended at this time.

We had one night in this beautiful chateau. We were given such a warm and friendly welcome by the Chateau owner, what a very special lady. Our room was stunning with all original features and furniture. The bed was comfortable and the room was cool. Breakfast was in the most stunning room - the ceiling is awesome. The food was delicious and plentiful. The garden and pool were perfect for relaxing.
I would go again in a heartbeat.
Thank you.

What an incredible find, 10 minutes from the Loire at Saumur and close to so many famous chateaux of the Loire. It's a beautiful building, sensitively restored to retain the feel of an old chateau but made comfortable, and surrounded by a moat. What really sets it apart is the warmth of the welcome from the owners, Marite Champenois and her sister, who do everything possible to make your stay perfect. Breakfasts are varied, copious and of good quality, beds are comfortable, the wifi is reliable and there is a nice swimming pool. No TV in the rooms but for those desperate to sit in front of the box instead of enjoying the chateau life and the delights of the region, there is a TV in one of the two salons that are at guests' disposal. The hosts speak good English and we heard them also using some Spanish. A memorable stay - we will return!

If you want to spend a night in a castle from the renaissance period, this is the place to go. Do not expect the comfort from a modern hotel but rather the luxury of past times. I would to describe the different apects of my stay, hoping that it might be useful in your decision making: Location: perfect! near the castle of usse, azay le rideau, chinon, villandry, village troglodyte...close to some good quality and rather unexpensive restaurants. building: gorgeous restored castle from the middle age and also built during the renaissance period, has a chapel, a small gite that can be rented, a cute chapel and a swimming pool. rooms: spacious and nicely decorated (comme a l epoque), shower time can be a bit chaotic though..., no wifi, no tv, no fridge, no ac, mineral water available breakfast: simple but abundant, nice china and coffee pot. front desk/reception: mme delmas is very welcoming and flexible concerning breakfast time, gives you good pieces of advice concerning restaurant and wineries. I really enjoyed my time here. dont expect any modern comfort remember you are staying in an old castle built in 1400-1500s in the loie valley...charming!

After a long journey from the UK, driving through the gates into the chateau and seeing it for the first time lit up in the early evening was almost a view from a fairytale of only our car had been a horse and carriage. Then meeting our host who showed us into her house and our accommodation for the next four nights did not lessen the experience as the inside is in keeping with the outside.
We stayed in the master bedroom looking out over the driveway which was large and comfortable with a double bed as well as a single bed for our daughter. There was also a desk and chair, wardrobe and chest of draws. The ensuite bathroom was up a small step.
Breakfast in the morning ws in the most incredible room with an original painted beam ceiling and because it was February and cold there was an open fire to warm us. Fresh breads and fruit were provided every day and I particularly liked the baked apples and honey that was produced at the chateau.
If we ever have the opportunity to return we would stay here again without hesitation.

We stayed for 3 nights at this wonderful chateau just over a week ago. It is positioned just a 10 min drive from Saumur, which we found perfect. A real home from home, together with one of the best hostesses you will ever find. Marite and her sister make you feel so at home, super breakfast and nothing is too much trouble at all. Super pool for the warm days too!
Nous allons revenir!!

My family & I spent two glorious days at this beautiful chateau. Marmite is absolutely charming & speaks excellent English; she cannot do enough to make you comfortable. The chateau itself is absolutely beautiful but we chose to stay in the triple family room located in a cottage in the grounds. This suited us perfectly & was a stone’s through from the pool. I would say this room could sleep a family of 4/5 (one bed only big enough for a small child). A great location, very close to Saumur & other attractions of the Loire Valley. We cannot wait to return!!!
