I do like this hotel and the feeling of history that goes with staying here. Most people may be aware that this hotel was used as the officers mess for 617 squadron in 1944 and consequently the hotel was full of memorabilia, this being the reason we decided to stay here.

The Petwood hotel is a very special place and so we agreed to pay the £30 per head cost of the Mother;s Day lunch. The entertainment was either the wonderful singer Heather Marie Little in the Woodhall function room or the talented pianist in the restaurant but the menu was the same in both venues. The food was pretty mediocre....

This is a really unique place - lovely grounds, panelled walls, sunny restaurant, fascinating history from both WW1 & WW2. Comfortable rooms with beautiful views of the grounds. Staff are so helpful; check out Guy Gibson's VC in the officer's bar. Oh, and the very best porridge I have ever tasted. Visit. ASAP!

From the moment we walked in to the reception area, greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady. Our room was excellent with 2 large 4 foot beds, beautiful bathroom and all facilities in the room. Extremely comfortable beds what more could we ask for. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Attended a birthday celebration here. What a gem and so much history attached to it. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Petwood. Lovely place. Breakfast was very good. A walk in the well attended grounds before we left.

Stayed for just one night as part of a 60th birthday celebration for my husband. Couldn't fault it. Great service, food was excellent. Lovely room overlooking the grounds, I can imagine in the summer months it's stunning. Add all that to the history of the building- Perfect..!!

With it's connections to WW2 the hotel is a timely reminder of how things used to be. We ate in the old Officers bar hired for the occasion - 14 of us getting together for a boys weekend. Service and food were excellent. Twin room was spacious, warm and clean. The grounds of the hotel must be great in the...
