We were sad to leave Fern Cottage this morning after a month of country living while our own house was being renovated. With 4 kids aged between 4 and 10 we made the most of our time up the mountains- our kids were out the door from early morning till last thing at night- making dens in the woods, creating...

Cottages are advertised as having internet - they did not when we were there. Very remote location. Poor insulation so heating costs a small fortune. Owners seem to only make contact when they want money - never answer their phones or give updates to enquiires. We found Chris quite rude. Avoid at all costs.

Promises of wifi, TV etc. not met. No mobile phone reception. Badly insulated house, cost renters a fortune to heat. Kitchen full of out of date appliances which were described as "all new". Owners conspicuous by their absence when you need something. Expensive and badly run. Overflowing bins etc.

Stayed in the Heather cottage, great location and good size rooms able to take our party of 4 adults and 4 toddlers. Great to have cots and highchairs available and plenty of room for the kids to run about. However stay spoilt by fridge that did not work, two bathrooms that leaked, an old TV that had rubbish reception, with...

We chose to have our family reunion (members arriving from two continents) in Dublin this year for the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Our group consisted of six adults, two teen-agers and three babies and so we researched accommodation that would provide a comfortable ambiance and a space big enough to experience quality family time together. Four hotel rooms in the...

I was really surprised to read a negative review - not sure which cotttage it referred to, but can only say that we have stayed twice and have nothing but positive things to say. Chris and Val Keogh bent over backwards to weclome us providing lots of good local information on such subjects as riding for the children etc. We...

It is a nice cottage located in the country, very quiet and with beatiful views, and very close to Dublin by car (you need a car to move: there is no public transport). The cottage is clean and with plenty of space, and with a lovely chimeny you can use to set fire. Everithing was working fine, and the owner...

Only 5 minutes from the outskirts of Dublin and yet in a peaceful, beautiful hill top location. The cottages are great, we know because we have tried them all over the years. Chris and Valerie are great hosts. They are relaxed and available. As with all self catering cottages, each is benefitting from a planned refurbishment. Heather Cottage, where we...

I will begin by saying the location of these cottages is ideal if you want to feel like you are in the country but just a stone's throw from Dublin. It was the perfect balance for a family, some of whom wanted to play and hike outside and others who wanted to tour the city. The cottage itself left a...
