This 4-star hotel is the perfect size for me: only 4 floors, a relatively small dining area, a cozy pool area with about 25 lounge chairs - even when full it wouldn't feel crowded. The interior design is a huge respite from the bland design choices of previous decades. INDIRECT LIGHTING! I love it. The library is a great place to hang because it opens into a natural cave in the volcanic rock of the island. Very well done! But make sure that the hotel has insect deterrent plugged in or your bring your own because mosquitoes will eat you alive as they dwell close to the cave. It would have been a 5 star 4sting of the mosquitoes hadn't been there and the gym had had more equipment. Still, an excellent choice for those who enjoy silence.

We stayed at this hotel for a week's holiday with our two boys. The rooms were spacious and immaculate - although simply furnished. The location is okay - close to the Expressway and the airport, but there is easy access to the village shops, the bus stop for Funchal, and bars and also to the beachfront. But what sets this hotel apart is the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. They are simply great and nothing was ever too much trouble. I would recommend this hotel as great value for money and a great place to stay.

Excellent value for money. The room was spacious with a beautiful view. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the pool as well. Great location, just a few minutes drive from the airport. Plenty of restaurants near by.

Many people stay here for just one night as the hotel is so close to the airport. We booked six nights and were a bit afraid of guests leaving early making noise, of aircraft flying over and possible noise of the traffic of the highway that is very near the hotel. But nothing of all that happened! We had very silent rooms and were not disturbed by any traffic (sounds). We had a great stay and much enjoyed the personal touch. Great service and nice talks at the hotel reception (thanks Sean for your personal touch and great service, we really appreciated that!). Breakfast was really nice and the personnel worked hard to get everything right, taking Covid-19 measures into account, not an easy task! You can order your eggs, pancakes etc. just how you want them. Fresh fruits. Juices could be better though. Rooms were nice and modern, some with balcony. Not the best views but town center, restaurants and coast were just a 5 minute walk away. Supermarket and bus stop (to Funchal but also to Ponta da Sao Lourenco!) next to the hotel. Nice pool too.

Stayed in this hotel on my last day in Madeira as I had an early flight. Hotel is located very close to Madeira international airport and it’s a great option instead of staying downtown Funchal and taking 30 minute taxi drive early morning. Was good amenities land a good pool, Santa Cruz itself is a charming village and hotel location allows you to take nice walks. Staff was really nice and please at and always ready to give an extra step to make guests happy. Thank you for your hospitality
