Stopped in for a beer and feed after a long day. Food was absolutely amazing. The service was so atrocious it ruined the food. What seemed to be the owner was a very rude person! 4 out of 5 beers tasted great and 1 in a different size glass was not. I tried to quietly pull the owner to the side and let her know and asked for a clean glass. Her response was "they are all cured the same way" and " no one ever complained before". She told us to have a free bottle from the fridge (I was thankful) but the horrendous smile and comment of "I gave you a free beer so just be happy", made me word vomit "we aren't coming back here". This made her follow me to my table and grit at me with that huge horrendous smile mouth for me to say "thank you I appreciate it" and she then said "well I would rather you just leave or i will call the police", (even thought I had paid for several meals and was not offered a refund). I took my beer outside and left the glass on the table and sat on the grass waiting for my friends. She then proceded to follow me outside, accused me of stealing her glass and told me I have to leave her premises. I said I am waiting near the car so we can leave after they eat.. she then told me to move the car. My reply being "I am under the influence thanks for the permission to drink drive". She said "that's not my problem, leave the premises." The conversation ended with some colourful words from myself and me moving to the median strip to then have my friends bring me the food out in napkins because the cheap manager wouldnt let them even buy a takeaway container. Thanks again for a crap ending to an awesome day you "everything I called you"! Please someone buy this awesomely situated pub or everyone boycott.. as this woman does not deserve a cent!

While the place could use some serious updating and TLC, it had a an interesting classic thriller vibe to it. We were one of three occupied rooms the night we stayed, and the fog rolled in extra heavy making for an almost portentous air. It's an old style motor inn sitting at the highest point of a ridge, meaning spectacular views, I guess, when the clouds clear up (they didn't). The room was comfortable enough and very clean with good beds, flat screen tv. The bathroom was perfectly functional, but in dire need of updating. Our sun room unfortunately had an odd chemical smell to it, but could be closed off with a sliding door and was a nice touch as additional storage. We were checked in at the motel's diner (original office looks closed and used for storage) which boasted a large menu and good selection of alcohol for purchase. Dinner there was tasty and made with care. I'd stay again if I ever come to Lavers Hill. Who doesn't love a place with a few surprises.

A one night stop on the Great Ocean Road. Very comfortable room with enclosed balcony/eating area. Typical Country Pub. Lovely meals, very friendly staff who will have a laugh with you. Lots of friendly locals including the 4 legged variety. Highly recommend after a day along this wonderful road.

We stayed here for 1 night on a cycling holiday along the great ocean road. Staff were very helpful and accomodating when we booked our room over the phone and had our room ready when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable, and had great views across a field filled with cows. My partner loved his electric blanket! We also had dinner takeaway from the adjoining restaurant, hot tip: the pizzas are excellent. Particularly the supreme!

Although the room appears to be from 1996 it's was very clean and tidy. Comfy bed, good tv and decent shower. I was staying as I was working in the area and just needed a place to sleep. This was perfect although probably slightly too expensive.

Old and outdated. Cheap fixtures and basic at best. Water came out brown at first and shower is a struggle to maintain temp if someone else is using water. Attached enclosed sunroom is over an old balcony and bare ragged concrete. Toilet was loose. No Wifi offered. Noisy fridge. Well over priced, stayed in heaps better for much less.

Stayed 5 nights for work . No clean towels for the entire stay .Didn't sweep the floor or replace the tea and coffee , Had to go ask for more . The Balcony room full of dead flies. Didn't bother with the restaurant . Will avoid this place if I go back this way .

Arrived from a rather disastrous stay at a hotel in Naracoorte and the Otway first impression made us think we'd made a bad decision again. Checked in at reception and met our hostess Kayla. She's a great lady - full of laughs and very friendly. We're from New Zealand and we discovered she's married to a Kiwi - so she has to be excellent! We were given some wine glasses and a couple of bottles of wine on the house and went to our rooms. They're not pretty from the outside but inside are very comfortable, beds were very good, and there were added on parts that were basically a small lounge with large windows looking out to the sea over the trees. Had dinner at the bar/restaurant - very nice and good portions. Managed to get a decent wine and a beer. Lots of chat and plenty of characters at the bar. Next night we had dinner again - one of our party had a steak - it covered the plate (we think it was most of a cow!) I had a meat pie which was very good (and smaller than the steak). Chatted with one of the local characters and Kayla. Left early next morning for Melbourne - must say that overall the Otway was one of our most enjoyable stays on our 3 week trip - much of that thanks to the rooms, the meals, the wine and Kayla - thanks again Kayla - we're recommending to anybody heading to the Ocean Road

Convenient location for travelling inland from Great Ocean Road. Did have a certain character about the place, but rooms are in need of up-dating or at least refreshing - a true ‘motel’ if a bit dated.
