We made a last-minute booking at The Gateway on Tuesday. We were very happy with our room, it was warm and clean. Even though it looked out onto the Main St. it was quiet and I had a great night's sleep. Everyone at the Gateway did their best to make our stay as pleasant, staff were friendly and helpful. Reception... More

Once again back at the Gateway, and I must say from start to finish 'Well Done' Cathal Kelly & Staff.... Brilliant supper of Smoked Salmon & salad, as well as numerous other meals...Just to add, I was recently in the elevator and I do not detect any odor.... This visit I did not stay in Hotel, meals only.

A welcome bar and lunchtime carvery. Welcome after a flight to knock. Excellent ham spuds cabbage and carrots. Friendly service and popular with locals. But fairly easy to find a table. Full range of beers and spirits

In town centre, music evenings, comfortable accommodation, varied menu with large servings. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I had a family member in hospital in Swinford and often arrived back at the hotel in the wee small hours.....there was always a staff member on duty. My thanks to everyone in the Gateway for making an emotional family visit a little... More

Family run business with exceptionally friendly staff throughout our stay. The premises though are in need of an overhaul. The lift wouldn't work with three of us in it and a staff member had to do a trick to get us moving. My room smelt musty with the lingering smell of smoke from days gone by. My shower curtain fell... This is a traditional, no fuss, country hotel. We stayed for two nights on a B & B basis plus one dinner. On arrival, we were greeted like long lost friends and check-in was pleasantly informal. Our double room was spacious, good size with iron & ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities and a well appointed en suite. Breakfast was very... More

We stayed three nights in this hotel for a short break in Mayo. The interior is a little worn out, but all basic requirements work well. Wi-fi is fast, plenty of hot water, decent shower, comfortable bed, TV, coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast is full Irish and some cereal and is nice. And all of that is not... More
