Stayed for 3 nights on a business trip, staff/landlord very friendly! Monday night was curry night and brought in a good atmosphere, Tuesday night was pie and pint night, equally as busy! Had to wait a little longer for food these two evenings however the option was there to sit by the fire with a drink whilst we did! Couldn't...

We were here for a relatives last moments in Chippenham. The pub gave us a place to escape, the friendly banter and locals in the bar along with the different spaces to sit provided background company without being overbearing. It helped us to be thoughtful without falling into the depths. The food was excellent and local, the eggs supreme! The...

A cosy village pub with a well kept range of real ales, good food and a friendly welcome. Best to book if you want a table as the food is always fresh and tasty. Parking is the only issue but there are always places along the road. Reasonably priced menus and daily specials , wine at affordable prices.

Stayed one night whilst on a visit to the area. Unassuming, proper village pub with rooms. Had a family room in the eves which was spacious and well laid out. The shower was a bit of a challenge due to a sloping roof but hey it was only one night. We had invited a couple to join us for dinner...

We stayed on a busy night so the booked parking space was not available. Good job we didn't book it for medical reasons because we had to walk a fair way down the road. Bed linen was clean but mattresses were lumpy so not very comfortable. Bulb missing from one wall light. Unused surfaces were dusty as was the inside...

We have no obligation to recommend this pub. We're not that local (10 miles away) nor do we know the publican by name. However, we we have visitors, there is a good chance we'd try here first for a Saturday evening meal. We believe this is what a local is all about. ( The locals at the bar always provide...

We spent 3 nights here whist visiting Bath and the surrounding area. The staff were brilliant - even to putting a jug of fresh milk in the fridge for us each night so we could have a decent cup of tea in the morning. Evening meals were good and reasonably priced and although the menu was not extensive the cooking...

We stayed here with friends one night whilst exploring the Cotswolds and visiting Bath. If you like English country pubs, this one should be high on your list. Our dogs were made more than welcome, We had a very good size room with a four poster bed and a bathroom with bath. Our friends were a bit less lucky, but...
