In the surroundings of this manor that looks like the adult version of Disneyworld but built with so much attention and perfection to every single detail (even the carvings in the furniture), our stay was pure bliss. Not only the exquisite fresh breakfast but also the private candlelit dinner was so romantic and made me feel like a princess in an other world. That is what defines Thorngrove Manor: mere perfection and an unbelievable eye for detail that makes your stay like a fairytale.

Thank you for your wonderful review Karolieni. Our architectural inspiration is from our colonial forefathers who built Gothic inspired buildings in the new colony. We are of course delighted that you enjoyed the surroundings with its rare and unique antique pieces. We pride ourselves son attention to detail and personal service with limited guest numbers, so it is so rewarding and humbling when this is acknowledged in a guest review. We hope to welcome you here again. Thank you so much for your review.

Thorngrove manor is quite idiosyncratic (you can feel and experience the passion of the owners from interior decoration to antique cutlery...). We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The host/ owner was very accommodating (thanks for the guided visit of the property!). My wife being sick (and still jet-lagged) it was the ideal place for some convalescence. The hotel is very private and peaceful. Because the couple that owns the hotel does everything they limit the number of guests. Breakfast in the room is extraordinary (order eggs! we could see the hens from our room...). Know you have to order dinner in advance (understandable because of the fresh ingredients). btw for the winelovers out there it's BYO... (there's a good shop in Stirling...) This is not the place if…

This hotel does not disappoint - the craftsmanship is outstanding - the eye for detail is exquisite from the mouldings on the walls and ceilings, the stain glass windows imported from Scotland and carpets crafted in England.. And the luxurious four poster bed with its Indian linen makes you feel like a queen or king during your stay.... But the eye for details does not end there - the culinary skills were exceptional - every dish was thoughtfully planned - choosing the perfect and best ingredients even if they have to be expressed shipped - only the best will be put on the plate

Even if only once in a lifetime this beautifully constructed Guest house met and exceeded all our expectations. Ken was a delight, he crafted a wonderful picnic for us, and took care of our every need. Breakfast was excellent and the room reminiscent of our time in Switzerland.

Staying at Thorngrove Manor is the most magical and enchanting experience we have ever known. Everything about our stay was absolute perfection and completely surpassed our wildest dreams and expectations. We were privileged to stay in the Queens Chambers and we could have just sat for hours admiring the beauty of the accommodation. It was so fascinating to hear about how Thorngrove Manor evolved and the complete passion and love that the owners Ken and Nydia have demonstrated to create a work of art. It is their life’s passion and so so apparent, as well their extremely hard work and dedication. We count ourselves so lucky to experience and share momentarily the history and love at Thorngrove. Upon arrival, we were met by Ken and nothing was too much trouble …we were…

There are no words that could describe how perfectly special & remarkable our experience was while staying in the Observatory at Thorngrove Manor for our 10th wedding anniversary... Pure opulence, luxury, attention to detail, exquisite service, a romantics dream... Our superb 6 star dinner, served in the beautiful dining room below a towering antique candle lit chandelier was an absolute highlight.. We could not feel more privileged to stay in such an incredible & private luxury hotel.. Memories to last us a lifetime.. Thankyou

The most beautiful building we have ever seen. Stunning design that will amaze and inspire you. The fit out features beautiful antique furniture whilst still providing modern amenities to make your stay comfortable. The dinner was superb, with plenty of choices and served with beautiful silverware with centuries of stories to tell. Everything about our stay was brilliant and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

We stayed one night in this magical property. It was a uniquel experience like stepping into a fairyland and your inner child just jumping out and wanting to explore more. We were welcomed by the owner Ken with a private entry and shared with the history of the property. It is full of stories and love every corner inside out, the garden, the decor, and so much more. It is a special place that we will remember for many years to come.

Darling Thorngrove, We missed your birth and your youth, however having known your graceful self since our fateful liaison in your twenties, we've seen you mature into a majestic and heartfelt being. As your alabaster bones age they seem to become more perfect; as your innards grow in complexity your beauty shines in delightful harmony to your raison d'etre. As the womb of your soil bears life, your gardens teem with both delicacy and strength, children raised strong and proud under the heavenly slate of your eyes. We'll grow old with you, mistress Thorngrove, maintaining our love through our periodic dalliances, and watching each other change with the seasons. All our love, Tristan and Sarah
