The result of one man's dream to create a fantasy manor house. 34 years of dedication to create a unique house. The attention to detail is amazing. A very comfortable place to stay with superb service and attention from the owner. Well located to explore the surrounding Adelaide Hills which are delightful. Follow in the footsteps of many world famous previous guests. An amazing hidden treasure.

Thank you for writing a review of your stay. We are delighted that you found our unique and creative boutique hotel, a "hidden treasure", and enjoyed your stay at Thorngrove so much. We have endeavoured to created a unique property based on the style of buildings that the early colonists to South Australia constructed in the hills in the early days of the colony. The Adelaide Hills is a wonderful area with so much to see and discover. The European settlers are to be praised for establishing European trees in the area, which gives it its distinct character.

This place is absolutely magical! I proposed to my fiancee here a while ago in a beauty and the beast themed proposal and everything was amazing! Nydia and Kenith organised everything I asked them to before arriving beautifully. As we are from Sydney I had to post all the props before arriving and they kept them safe for me until we arrived. Nydia also suggested a photographer, Glenn Alderson that frequents the property, which captured the moment perfectly. The property was absolutely breathtaking from the moment we arrived and Kenith was always available for anything we needed. It was a very private and elegant stay. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to escape reality for a while. The one negative review on here must be nuts as nobody in their right mind…

A long held desire to visit Thorngrove Manor was finally achieved. We stayed in the Queen Room and were extremely fortunate to have a tour of the residence by Kenneth including a wonderful passion filled rendition of the History of the Manor and of the myriad of historic pieces filling every room. As others have said, the attention to detail is incredible, and the vision that drives a theme of “constant improvement” is amazing. This is a home that reflects a couple’s dedication to provide a truly historic property. Unique in Australia and world class. A final small comment ---find a way to try Nydia’s scones ---the lightest (and best) I have ever had.

My wife and I stayed at Thorngrove many years ago as a younger couple celebrating romance and youth. We returned for my wife's 60th birthday with our young adult children. I can't speak highly enough of our hosts Kenneth and Nydia and the sumptuous handmade food and the luxurious property they have spent decades lovingly creating to share. When Kenneth takes you on a tour of the property you can't help but be inspired by the vision and passion that created Thorngrove. The property itself is magnificent in its own right - the artistic detail is exquisite from the stone work to the ornate plasterwork, the stained glass windows to the gold leaf - I could go on and on. It is like being transported in time. Worth a mention is that one of our daughters has medically imperative…

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Manor, my 4 year old daughter is still convinced that it’s Cinderella’s castle haha. Though the Manor is known as a romantic getaway it also serves well as a quaint family getaway. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay one to remember. Love Padma and the rest of the Singh Family.

I recently arranged a location shoot at Thorngrove Manor. Nydia was very accommodating to my request. When I arrived at the Manor I was blown away by its beauty. The attention to details, from the manicured gardens, resident geese, stunning stone masonary, to furnishings of years gone by... true antiques with love and restoration clearly bestowed upon them. I would 11/10 recommend you stay here. A truly unique boutique manor which is a hidden gem of the Adelaide hills.

What a fantastic place to visit. We enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea and tour of the Manor. The owners share their passion of how they built and created individually unique interior designs for each room. A magical experience not to be missed.

I've done more than my fair share of staying in extraordinary places but this place is truly remarkable. We spent a couple of nights in the Castle Keep, a round turret room with a blazing open fire which on two wild, wet and windy days made the experience the perfect cosy lock in as the end to our South Australian visit. The room was spacious and comfortable, the pre-ordered charcuterie platter extensive and delicious. The hotel is located a very easy walk to town which has an abundance of restaurants, a pair of supermarkets and a splendid wine merchant. I don't think there's much I can add to the other reviews except to say that Ken and Nydia, most charming hosts, have not only created a real treasure for generations of guests to come but has also in my opinion contributed…
