Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

no boring corridors , no need to social distance , you are by yourself and you don't see anyone . quiet sophisticated luxury and no need to go overseas . 5 star + meals and impeccable service . exquisite views and solitude in a world that has little of the latter . being a full time care is exhausting , staying at thorn grove gives you a new battery not just a recharged one .

I highly recommend a stay at Thorngove Manor, you will not be disappointed. I arrived early afternoon and was welcomed warmly. I had a lovely afternoon tea served in my room. The fixtures and fittings all tell a story, and have been lovingly restored and looked after. The stained glass window panels blew me away, still amazed that the windows from my local town church in Scotland have been made in to such an fabulous feature in a beautiful location. The layout of the property is so secluded and private. Thank you Nydia and Ken for a wonderful stay, I hope to be lucky enough to visit again.

Thank you Jillian , for your wonderful review of your stay with us. It was brilliant to welcome you here, especially with your connection to our extraordinary stained glass windows and the stories they have. We never tire of looking at them and experience the same wonder at the skill and craftsmanship of the creators, as the day we first saw them. Thank you for coming to stay and providing an amazing connection to their origin. Hope to welcome you back as part of your exciting travel adventures.

Good Afternoon Kenneth & Nydia, I just felt that I wanted to message you to say a huge thankyou from Jackie and I for the wonderful time we spent with you yesterday. Everything was just so lovely and thoughtful, certainly a birthday to remember for me and a most interesting time for both of us with the tour of the property. I think the very hot weather put us off the garden tour really but I must admit, we were torn when we had to make a decision. We are still in awe and chatting about your very unusual property and beautiful décor. We couldn't eat for the rest of the day, your pastries were just delicious as were the deserts, I think we probably both went over the edge a little but we are allowed to do that now and again !! Once again, sincere thanks, Kind Regards, Joan

A unique experience from arrival to departure! Lovely accommodation in a beautiful garden setting. Stayed one night in the Castle Chambers which was simply wow! The furnishings were magnificent and every piece from the silverware to the bed has a story which Ken was happy to regale. Ken and his wife looked after my sister and I so well and their attention to detail is beyond description. Dinner was served in our Chambers and we were not disappointed with our choices. We were also fortunate to be given a tour of the property which was a real eye opener. Again - wow wow wow!!!
