Reading through the reviews I can only reiterate other 5 Star review comments.

A glorious property with sublime views, fantastic staff, beautiful food and wine all added up to a perfect stay.
My family joined me to celebrate my 80th Birthday for dinner and the evening at this wonderful venue.
From the welcome drink to the farewell gift it was perfection all the way.
Having glorious weather and being able to enjoy a swim in the heated pool overlooking the beautiful Piccadilly Valley before enjoying a sumptuous breakfast made it very hard to leave the next morning.
Being a History Buff I enjoyed Christopher’s tour and cocktails and meeting other guests.
Congratulations to Christopher and his team - you have got it so right!
A jewel in South Australia’s Hospitality Crown.

I recently stayed here for a meeting, and was pleasantly surprised that I got to stay in one of the new Sequoia suites that are due for official opening in September 2020. I've stayed in the main house years ago, and these rooms have had a makeover. However these new suites are something else, with beautiful views over the Piccadilly Valley from the giant window with its own balcony. The room has a huge bathroom, with one of the greatest showers I've ever seen, a full sized tub and a private water feature outside the window. This has a window view through to the bedroom, with a cool feature that makes the glass opaque with the flick of a switch.
The bed was a king, very comfortable, with funky bedside lights. A TV rises out of a bench at the foot of the bed, and this overlooks the sunken lounge with a soft sofa and open fire (that turns on by switch too!)
There are automated blinds that go up automatically when you enter the room.

I only had a few issues - you have to make sure the blinds are closed in the bathroom, otherwise the morning light comes in and wakes you up early.
The switches/buttons that automate things are a little fiddly, but once you get used to them, they are fine.

The chunky choc chip cookies and minibar were a welcome feature. Complimentary drinking water from Mt Lofty Springs, and Nespresso machine were appreciated. There are some bottles of wine for an additional fee.

We also did the Mt Lofty House tour, with a staff member who was so enthusiastic it was hard not to get pulled into the history of the house. The cellar is a lovely surprise to go explore.
The staff are very good here- professional and friendly. Max, who looks after the Sequoia suites was fabulous!

We had breakfast in the Piccadilly Room which has a lovely view of the valley. This is also where wedding receptions are held, which looks to be perfect.

Definitely recommend this venue for a weekend break, and to recommend to friends and family from out of town to show off all the best of the Adelaide Hills.

Hardy's Verandah is a brilliant restaurant. For a large group they did offer alternating dishes rather than a la carte, but that was OK as the choices were beautiful

A stay for two nights in such an upmarket hotel is not something my wife and I would usually do; however we are extremely glad we did treat ourselves to something special. From the moment you enter the front door, the historic building exudes charm and refinement. Whilst we stayed in the least expensive room, it was full of character, plenty of space, beautifully furnished, and with an amazingly comfortable bed. We felt special from the moment we stepped inside. The dinner in the restaurant was exceptional. I had always wondered whether 'fine dining' was worth the price that comes with it; however each course was memorable for all the right reasons, including the attentive staff, and I am very pleased we made the decision to have dinner as part of our stay.
Breakfast brought with it the sweeping views over the valley from another area within the hotel. We were very warmly welcomed by staff from the moment we walked into the breakfast dining area, and the excellent service continued throughout. Each morning the breakfast was very generous in portions and truly delicious.
The quality of the artwork in the rooms as well as throughout the hotel, along with the garden setting and the vistas, all added to the overall character and helped make for a wonderful stay.
My only suggestion for consideration is that we found the heating to be too warm throughout the much of the main building (I think it was 24 degrees Celsius). During winter this made being comfortably dressed for the outdoors and indoors quite inconsistent.
Overall, we look forward to visiting in other seasons such as autumn to enjoy the region, and the excellent accommodation and food.

We stayed in the Escarpment suites over looking the lofty ranges. The views were AMAZING. Perfect for a glass of wine or beer on the deck as you watch the sun go down. The day bed out on the deck is comfortable and it is so serene.

The suite itself is very modern with smart technology to operate lights, blinds the TV which goes up and down. It is very comfortable with amazing amenities. The fireplace in the lounge is a lovely touch.

I slept like a baby in the huge bed as it was so comfortable and the room becomes dark when you use the tech to close all the blinds. in the morning you press a button and it opens everything up and becomes a light and bright sanctuary. The bathroom is so serene and we very much enjoyed a glass of the complimentary sparkling in the bath. The mini bar with complimentary sparkling bottle of Mounty Lofty and soft drinks, beers and juices was a nice touch. So was the delicious local artisan chocolate! The staff were so lovely and accommodating and couldn't have done more to make our experience awesome. We had dinner in the more casual restaurant and it was lovely.

All in all, we highly recommend!

We decided to book into Mount Lofty House for my birthday as we had always dreamed of staying here for ages. When we were checking in we were greated by such a loverly beautiful friendly lady by the name of Stephanie. After check in we were met by Stephanie at the car park and walked to 2 rooms we had booked. The two different rooms at the property were rooms 32 and 34 (bigger one). After relaxing for a bit we decided to go for a walk arround the property to check it out. The overall property is in good clean condition but could do with some extra TLC and care regarding the gardens and cleanliness of the walkways amd stairways like loose leaves and branches that have been there for some time. Whilst walking arrround we stumbled on the wine cellar. An amazing cellar that I have seen in any hotel so far. Very well set up. On the walk out is 2 fridges set up for aging their meat which is great to see on display.
We booked into the resturant for dinner with 4 people. The food was great and really set your tastes buds alight. Cooked to perfection in every dish. Whilst eating our meals we felt the present of staff was a little over the top. As in they were always looking and starring at you and you kind of felt that you cant relax as such. In ordering a few beers we were not so happy to be served a beer with a big chip and crack in it from the height of class this hotel offers we thought very bad atention to detail from the staff on this one. At 5pm or 1700 hrs each day there is a 45 min history walk in and out of the property. If you are staying I highly recomend you do this.
The wifi in the rooms was very average. As we were here for pleasure as well as work we had great issues using wifi for simply internet access and had to use mobile phones with hotspots instead. As a excellent office area is set up to use. It lacks the basics for working like pad, pens as simply a desk with a chair. The beds were ok but not really comfy as found them to hard. The pillows were opposite they were low and very soft. Found very uncomfortbale to even use. Yes the hotel offers pillow service but hate annoying staff for items like that so used lounge pillow to sleep with as allot harder. Over all this hotel is very amazing and botique. Loved staying here to finally see it but not sure if I will revisit again.

Hello RandB1805, Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay with us. First I want to apologize for letting your experience fall short of your expectations in some areas. I am happy however that you received fabulous service from Stephanie on arrival, and that you felt the food was cooked to perfection. I am sorry you felt the service was too attentive in the restaurant and that some of our gardens could use some TLC. Unfortunately the weather has been exceptionally warm over the past two months which has meant despite best efforts, the gardens are not the same as they are during Spring or Autumn. I am so sorry our team missed the chip in the beer glass, this absolutely unacceptable and while I am sure the team would have replaced this they shouldnt have needed to be told. I am happy you enjoyed the house welcome and history tour - this is a highlight for many guests. I am also surprised by the feedback about our WIFI, I have requested our IT team do a full survey of our site to address any shortfalls, my apologies this hadnt been addressed prior to your stay. I also apologize you didnt like the firmness of our pillows, this is why we have many different styles and firmness levels available so our guests can be perfectly comfortable. I am very disappointed that you felt like you would be bothering my team, rather we are all passionate about making your guest stays the most comfortable and enjoyable it possible can be. Kind regards, Jesse Kornoff General Manager

Everything about our stay here was fantastic. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted, quickly checked in and welcomed with sparkling wine ( as well as having a complimentary bottle waiting in our room). We dined at Hardy’s Veranda, the Bistro and Pinnacle restaurants and loved the food at every one of them, absolutely top quality. The location and views are stunning (I recommend a walk through the botanic garden next door) and the building itself is fantastic with all manner of small comfortable and cozy seating areas. The best part though is a well trained and super friendly staff that is always looking to be helpful. I cannot recommend this enough.

Upon arrival from Qld, we were greeted with complimentary bubbles, a nice way to start our 2 night stay in the Adelaide Hills for our wedding anniversary.
Front of house staff were very professional and diligent with their service. Extra help with vacuum packed ice for our Barossa Valley cheeses for the next leg of our journey to Victor Harbour.
We chose to dine casually in the Arthur Waterhouse Lounge as we were sightseeing and did not want to sit down to a set menu after tasting the many delights of a German lunch at Hahndorf and afternoon tea at Beerenberg Farms.
A la carte and buffet breakfast was in the Piccadilly room with magnificent views over the valley. Food was excellent, with the double smoked bacon to die for!
Our Piccadilly room overlooked the valley and our top floor room gave us excellent views. Rooms were very spacious and had the real heritage feel about them.
However, our dinner ordering experience at Arthur Waterhouse Lounge (AWL) was not befitting the MGallery classification. I understand the the HVR experience what Accor is wanting achieve and to have a point of difference to AWL. However, I found it rather insulting that we had to order our meal and drinks from the bar from an MGallery resort! Very ordinary. Even local cafes we visited took our food and drink orders while we were seated. At breakfast we had table service including the waitperson personally bringing the tea to our table! I'm having trouble reconciling table service, breakfast v AWL. I think management need to reconsider how they wish to position AWL.
Nonetheless, this experience did not detract from the lovely setting, very professional and attentive staff (thanks to Ben who helped us with our bags), complimentary tour of the property and the ambience of Mount Lofty House.

We dubbed this experience as our " Gold Room at Lake Louise Alberta, without the lake and snow".

Hello Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, I appreciate and take on board your feedback about our casual dining concept in our bar, Arthur Waterhouse Lounge. We are aiming to provide an occasion dining proposition in Hardy's Verandah focussed on our amazing South Australian food bowl, while in Arthur Waterhouse we are aiming to cater to guests who are looking for a much more very relaxed meal, yet still being able to have world class wine and food. I believe Hardy's Verandah seems to be more in line with the dining experience you are looking for during your stay. I do hope to be able to share our signature dining experience with you on your next stay. Kind regards, Jesse Kornoff General Manager

After numerous failed attempts (Covid etc) we finally got to stay at Mount Lofty 12 years after our first visit (our Wedding)

We were greeted with a free welcome drink upon arrival and shown to our lovely room. We stayed in the Coachhouse Loft room which is seperate to the main house. This was a upgrade on the room we had booked. Below the room is a function room and as there was no function on during our stay we were able to use the decking on ground floor. Our own private garden!

The house itself has been renovated since we last stayed there and there are still some new renovations being completed although they do not impede on your stay.
When everything is completed it will be a very luxurious place to stay.

The facilities were on the whole very good. Our bed was very comfortable, our room was very large. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and spa bath.
We had breakfast (inc in the room rate) which was very nice in the Piccadilly room. (Where we had our wedding reception 12 years ago) it consisted of muesli and yoghurt, fresh fruit and pastries followed by a choice of hot items. I had an omelette and my partner had waffles both were very nice.

The hotel has tried to keep the features from when it was first built and included locally made furniture to keep everything in keeping with the period. So it has kept a lot of its charm despite being rebuilt in the 1980’s. The hotel runs free history tours every night which are well worth attending.

We did not dine in either of the restaurants in the evening as we had a prior engagement however both are highly recommended.

Our only criticisms are, the pool is rather small, wheelchair access is a little poor, our room had a lot of traffic noise and we were awoken at 6am by the rubbish collection, with room service there is a $15 delivery charge that we were unaware of until we checked out.

Would we stay again? Definitely (but not in that room) nor order Room Service!

My wife and I stayed at the Escarpment suite which is a new addition to the Mt Lofty House hotel which opened in September. They have their own private entrance and are away from the main building with excellent views across the Adelaide Hills wine region. Very high tech suite with electronic controls for everything.....except unfortunately it couldn't reduce the volume of the drunken idiot that woke me up at 11:30pm after spending too much time in the hotel bar! I had to call reception twice in 30 minutes for them to call the guy to tone it down which didn't stop until midnight.
The issue is that I asked specifically asked upon check whether the suites were soundproof and I was assured that they were. I mentioned this on checkout and I hope the guy in suite 10 had a giant hangover on Thursday Jan 7....!

Apart from that hiccup we ate at the restaurant and bar both nights, the food was excellent where we had the $125 degustation menu. I was very pleased to be able to find and drink Ochota Barrels grenache as it is rare to find.
Service was excellent however the breakfast was a bit underwhelming after the high standards of the food served upstairs but no real complaints.

Unfortunately not all the facilities are opened yet such as the pool (not sure where they are going to fit that on the steep slope), spa and bar. I initially booked the suite at $1,000 per night then happen to check the web site a few days prior to arriving and they were selling suites for $250 less which the hotel did match for me.

Staff were excellent and friendly. The tv's are intriguing as the only way to watch them was lying in bed. Bathrooms are fantastic, we couldn't use the balcony as it was too windy.

Overall it's a great experience although if I was to return I would request a room in the 4 to 6 number range as our suite's view was partially blocked my trees and the suites further along overlooked the water tanks.
I highly recommend visiting Artwine winery in Woodside or The Lane winery or Shaw & Smith.

Mt Lofty House is elegant and classy, a destination in itself, An excellent base from which to enjoy the highlights of the Adelaide Hills region. The bedrooms,s are exceptionally comfortable (in the main building) and the library and other reading nooks are delightful.
The layout and size of the facilities mean that you feel you have the place to yourself.
The 5 pm complimentary tour of the complex (with bubbles) is well worth it.
The staff are attentive and professional, and discreet
Our 4-course degustation dinner with matched wines for each course was outstanding; Our sommelier was exceptionally good and really understood how to pair food and drinks,
We very much enjoyed the complimentary and attentive wine tastings at three wineries: Deviation Road, Artwine and The Lane.
Be sure to stay at least three nights to give ample time to explore both the region and the property.
