I wasn't very impressed with the facilities or the price. The woman at reception was not very friendly at all, the cabin we stayed in had dated amentities, the mattresses uncomfortable, the hot water for the showers and kitchen not hot at all, resulting in a miserly shower. It seems the place is run in a miserly manner. Very expensive...

To start, the woman who greeted us and checked us in was lovely. If she ran the park it would have much better reviews and travelers would have a better experience. Unfortunately, Harry runs the operation and is possibly the most rude person we've come across in NZ. When we pulled in and they charged us $60, the put us...

Stayed for one night arrived lateish 8pm to be charged nearly $40 to put our tent up in what you could only describe as the front garden beside the road despite the place being empty. Being tired we just took it and everything was fine until the following morning when Harry came into the kitchen to accuse us of leaving...

From the time we stepped into Opononi till the time we departed Jenny and Harry treated all of our family as family. We had two cabins/units which had all the essentials one needs and while we had to go to the communal showers and toilets this was no big deal in fact a pleasant experience. Harry took us out fishing...

Great snapper breeding ground and lords of bites off the long jetty ..great for kids fishing...take care on current and tides ... bit of...

Thank you very much for your review. We trust you had a great time staying at Opononi Beach Holiday Park. It is a great place to go fishing, and we can organise fishing trips for visitors with a local chartered fishing boat. Prices vary throughout the year.

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The campsite is tiered so you get great views from most spots and the facilities are quite good (if not the most modern). The best thing was the Harry took my father in-law out on his boat to collect the cray pots twice which was a brilliant experience for him....

We live in NZ and came through a couple years ago and swore we'd be back. Stayed four nights just gone and loved it again. Basic amenities but what do you expect? Someone to pick up after you and all the new toys for your kids? Nothing wrong with the swings/tramps like I've seen in other reviews. Some people are...

We stayed for one night in our campervan, the view is great, weather was fab, owners friendly, tho one thing to point out was when asked if we entitled to NZMCA discount as we are members, we were told we would have to stay 2 nights to be entitled to any discount. First time any campground has had that rule...

We were concerned about staying here after all the bad reviews but thought we’d give them the benefit of the doubt as it suited our itinerary and the camp is in a great position. A mistake! The location is the only thing going for it. The facilities are very old and rundown. The bathrooms were dirty and I wouldn’t use...
