My partner & I stayed here in the Millar Suite for one night - it was a surprise for his birthday, and what a lovely one it was! The suite is a great size with lovely views of different parts of the garden out of each window. It's in a beautiful setting, right alongside the River Avon, in fact our...

Lunch at the Mill was a great reward after a hearty hike in the New Forest. Although the exterior of the pub is old, the interior is quite modern in design and the dining room is a pleasing space. Service was very smooth and friendly. The food was interesting and very appealing. Gluten free options are available for those in...

My husband and I went to the Mill at Gordleton on 17th February 2017 and it was a lovely experience. We chose one of the set three-course lunch menues for £19.50 a head which turned out to be great value for money. The food was first class, very tasty, nicely served, and good sized portions. And their home-made bread was...

We loved visiting The Mill. Our room was lovely with dual aspect windows over the gardens and well decorated. The bathroom was also beautiful - a minor complaint was it was cold (the radiator didn't appear to be working). We ate in the restaurant and had the three course set menu. I felt it was very good value given the...

Atmosphere and ambience is a huge part of restaurant and this place has it in buckets. Equally the staff were excellent with just the right blend of professional friendliness. But then came the food. Although the menu looked good I'm sorry to say that the food was a huge disappointment. My chicken liver starters were so dry, and my starter/main,...

We stayed for 1 night for a short weekend away from London. It's 3km from Lymington station, so a short bike ride for us. The room is lovely, bed is 2 twin pinned together as a king, very comfortable. The balcony over looks a pretty garden with lots of sculptures. The staff are very friendly. It has a fire place...

What an excellent lunch! This was recommended to us for Sunday lunch and so glad we followed it up. It seems they have a set menu on a Sunday lunchtime. You could have either a 2 course meal for £25 or 3 courses for £29 which I think is quite reasonable. There was a choice of about 4 or 5...

Set in beautiful gardens with river and mill streams completes a lovely setting. This restaurant is a fine example of how to do things in an exceptional manner. The food is sublime with an excellent selection for all tastes served to the highest of standards. Beautiful food cooked with care and served by very friendly staff. Nothing is to much...

We've been coming here for twenty years or so, under several changes of ownership, so have plenty of different experiences of the Mill to compare with. Our dinner here was excellent, but the service let the food down. It was all about details like:- - Being told " Just chuck them on that chair" when we asked someone to take...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a pretty privately owned restaurant with 7 lovely individually decorated bedrooms, serving gorgeous local or organic food. We try not to be pretentious, preferring instead to be informal and friendly, but we are still totally committed to quality and service. But the best part of all is the river and rambling gardens, home to a family of ducks and if you are lucky you might even spot a Kingfisher! ... more   less
