We recently booked a family birthday meal at the Mill. It was a surprise for my Mum and her sister travelled all the way from Scotland. We told the restaurant beforehand that my brother has severe food allergies so we had to be careful about his food choices. We have dined at the Mill before because they did accommodate for...

Six of us met for a 60th birthday celebration. Three generations on our first visit to The Mill. The dining room is beautiful and the tables exquisitely laid up. We had a round table - a must for more than four people. We were given masses of time to peruse the menu, whilst testing the excellent wine. I won't go...

Beautiful delicious food, amazing service and lovely setting. Definately worth a visit The food is all homemade even the delicious bread. I had guinea fowl which was moist and full of flavour. For dessert I had the strawberry Eton mess the only downside I wanted more!!

We stayed overnight here in April: it's a lovely place and we had a fine evening meal in the restaurant: the service and food were both excellent. Our room was comfortable, though for the price (and rating) I would have expected bathrobes: a surprising omission. The hotel is set in simply beautiful gardens and the ambience was so perfect that...

We arrived a little early for dinner, and were greeted by the trainee assistant manager, Kirsty. We were extremely well looked after, and it was wonderful to engage with the staff of this beautiful establishment. The food was exceptional, well presented and the recommendation on the Merlot was well received by myself and our guests. Stunning setting with wonderful gardens....

Have eaten here 3 times now. Christmas Eve in restaurant and twice in bar. This really is a lovely place, with immaculate gardens where you can wander. It is by a stream and has lots of tables in various places to sit out when nice weather. Warm welcome from all and food and service in restaurant excellent. Lovely ambience -...

I booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary based on reviews and it excelled our expectations. The service was second to none. I want to thank Jennifer for taking note that I was sad our room was on the small side, she then mentioned this to lovely Kirsty who offered to upgrade us and move all our clothes whilst we...

We recently stayed at the Mill for one night while spending a long weekend in the New Forest area, we choose this location due to the reviews we had read. there are a lot of positives for this hotel but there are one or two negatives also, location could also be an issue, our satnav took us down some of...

This was our first visit to the Mill but if we'd known just how wonderful it was we'd be old regulars by now! Our starter was the twice baked Dorset cheddar soufflé- this was probably one of the best cheese soufflés we'd ever had and extra bread should be saved to wipe the dish clean! I had a mix and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a pretty privately owned restaurant with 7 lovely individually decorated bedrooms, serving gorgeous local or organic food. We try not to be pretentious, preferring instead to be informal and friendly, but we are still totally committed to quality and service. But the best part of all is the river and rambling gardens, home to a family of ducks and if you are lucky you might even spot a Kingfisher! ... more   less
