My friend and I stayed for 2 nights, we were visiting Longlete which was less than a 10 minute drive from here so a perfect place to stay. Bath is 30 mins in one direction and Salisbury 30 mins in the other direction. The staff were friendly and very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. We had a light bite...

We stayed here for one night, we had 5 adults in a family room and there was plenty of room for us all. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely! The landlord was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!!

Visited for lunch after a walk on Salisbury Plain on my birthday. Received a warm friendly welcome. Delicious lunch from a great menu. Pie of the day (chicken and leek) was freshly made and tasty. Lovely!!

We were in room number 4, huge room, both children and parents very happy, shower could have been stronger, but I'm nitpicking. Bed was comfy and the pub downstairs wasn't overwhelmingly noisy. Friendly staff who were very accommodating and great with the children. A hidden gem of a climbing frame in the back garden, will definitely be coming back!

We had one room for six people, with an en suite bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable, a little crowded for six, but not bad. We loved the town and enjoyed a nice walk around in the evening. The included breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delicious. The owners were wonderful, friendly and helpful. We would stay here...

I would have given this place a 5 out of 5 as the breakfast was fantastic & so were the owners. Very friendly. The shower was powerful & bathroom was decent & clean Unfortunately the room was dusty & rather a lot of cobwebs. It's a shame as that would put me off staying again. apart from that it was...

Stayed locally on holiday. Decided to visit this pub for lunch. Had a really warm welcome from the staff who couldn't do enough for me, my wife and 15month child. Food was delicious, I had the lasagne while my wife had the steak & ale pie. The cask ale beer was also a very nice pint. All in all a...

The family room at the Red Lion was ideal for our family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 5, 8 and 14). It was clean, comfortable and spacious, with plenty of teabags and biscuits provided! We arrived quite late but it was not a problem and the barman showed us to our room. Breakfast was superb with plenty of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a traditional country pub with home cooked pub food, we have a wood fire set in the middle of the bar and offer a good selection of real ales and lagers at a reasonable price. Although we don't have a separate restaurant our guests are welcome to sit in front of the open fire and dine with us. We are known for our excellent friendly service and welcome everyone here. We have 4 letting rooms that are very clean and spacious, our showers are gravity fed so as long as you have a little patience for the water to get hot , they are fine, but if in doubt we are always here to help. Look forward as always to meeting you ... more   less
