Beautiful setting in a private reserve in the cloud forest. There are 3 or more waterfalls on the property that require a nice hike through the forest. The food is fantastic as are the waiters and all of the staff

We stayed in room 16, which was a Riverside Suite. I thought it wasn't going to be very private since it was located right next to the main dining lodge, but I was wrong. No one walked in front of our suite, which faced the river. We felt like we were in our own little mountain villa! The sound of...

All of the staff at El Silencio was fabulous: my husband and I felt very welcome, and there was always a member of the staff available to help us or answer questions. Cooking empanadas with William was awesome, and we loved being able to hike to three different waterfalls. A great place that's off the beaten path for couples to...

Setting a soothing stage for travelers to bond, relax, and enjoy our spectacular natural surroundings is our driving purpose. And offering unique experiences like making empanadas from scratch is the icing on the cake. :)

Biggest let down of our entire time in Costa Rica. Your suite is just a pre-fab cabin which does give it a relaxing mountain feel, however the property is let down by the dining/restaurant experience at the lodge mainly from one of the male waiter who was extremely arrogant. They need to do more service training in F&B and on...

The beauty and amenities exceeded our expectations. The property is Relaix/Chateau and it lives up to the expectation. You could hike all day every day from this area, but the other activities they offer are definitely worth investigating. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we connected with the Grupo Islita group to make the arrangements for a...

It was delightful to be your hosts! As part of Grupo Islita's Costa Rican hotels, El Silencio Lodge is proud to have Hotel Punta Islita and now Isla Chiquita as sister destinations. Thank you for your detailed description of the experience and your useful travel tips. On behalf of Dixie and Angie...please return soon!

The best thing I can do for el Silencio is to compare it to a similar tier hotel. La Paz Waterfall / Peace Lodge is a direct competitor of el Silencio and sits on the opposite side of Poas Volcano. They both feature similar amenities, luxury accommodations, large grounds with waterfalls. However, the difference is striking. La Paz / Peace...

We really enjoyed ourselves here. You can be as active as you can be and you also can just simply relax. While at first I found my cabin's location a bit of a hike, by the second day I was almost sprinting up the hill with one of their beautiful walking sticks. I loved the privacy (you won't be seen...

El Silencio was such a truly lovely place to stay! Nestled near the cloud forest & surrounding jungle. The hike on their property leads to waterfalls and is really nice (it includes seeing their organic garden, trout farm & chicken coop). Ronald led the hike and was a wealth of information (or you can do it on your own as...

We chose El Silencio to start our Costa Rica vacation as it was a mid point between the airport and our next destination. It was the perfect introduction to Costa Rica for my family. I have traveled extensively in Costa Rica. Overall a good above average property and beautiful location in Costa Rica with nice cool temperatures. However, a couple of major issues. We arrived at around 10 pm. There was absolutely no one to check us in. Weird. I can't say that I have ever experienced that before. And 10 pm really is...
