This might be our new favorite place! If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this place is for you. There are five cabins on site overlooking a beautiful, clean lake. This is the type of place you come to unwind and stay put. There isn't anything to do within walking distance, so if you don't...

We stayed two nights in the cabin Coco in San Simian. The cabin is small, but cosy. The hotel isn't cheap compared to other hotels in Nicaragua, but it's worth its price since you pay for the fantastic location. It's situated in front of the lagoon and therefore it is the ideal place to swim, relax or to enjoy tasty...

This wonderful hotel was our introduction to Nicaragua and did not disappoint at all. The casitas are charming with comfy beds and bed nets. The outdoor bathrooms had my daughters dancing in joy! The swimming was a highlight and the kids loved the kayaks and inner tubes. We ate all our meals at the restaurant. It was lovely to pre-order...

I have just finished my 4th stay at San Simian - twice in 2014 and twice in 2016. It is worth a second review because ... well I keep coming back! I love that it is a smaller place - 5 casitas and with limited day trippers. The water is always warm and I love a tranquil early morning swim...

I cannot say enough about how perfect this place is. Daniel, the owner, was very helpful with all of my questions before and after I made our reservations. He helped to provide transport during our stay and really did everything to make our visit perfect. He is very knowledgeable about Nicaragua, various cities and sites and the flora and fauna...

Have written many reviews of San Simian, my favorite chill spot in Nicaragua. Nevertheless, Daniel and staff deserve yet another shout-out, This is a most tranquil spot that is a good starting, ending (or both, my strategy) when visiting Nicaragua. The Laguna deserves several days and is an excellent base for exploring the area. The accomodations are comfortable, the food...

I stayed here with my husband for 1 night. We wanted a relaxing, tranquil time away and Sam Simian was the perfect choice. Daniel the owner greeted us at check in and showed us to our Room. We spend our evening relaxing by the lake drinking some toñas while enjoying the amazing view. Later had dinner and hung out in...

The Cabanas are close the water, beds are comfortable, the showers are "outdoors" (but private and part of the Cabanas...could have been pretty romantic if I wasn't solo...was really cool to shower outside under a full moon). I stayed in Sandia, which had a nice breeze and a good view of the lake. Papaya next to me was nice as...

San Simian Eco Lodge was our first destination after landing in Nicaragua, and we loved it! It is simple and perfect. Our family of four (two adults, two kids in grade school) stayed in a small cabin with a queen and a bunk bed. That was about all that fit in the cabin but we didn't need anything else because...

San Simian Economy Lodge is a rare find in Nicaragua. The property is small enough to offer a quiet and relaxed atmosphere and still have opportunities for great hikes and swimming, as well as quick trips to Masada or Granada. The food options are more than enough while taying for several days. Daniel, the owner, was attentive as well was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Simian is a charming Eco Lodge in the Laguna de Apoyo Dry Forest Preserve. Nestled along the water's edge, this secluded resort has private unique lodging tucked into the slope of the crater and steps from the swimming dock, hammocks and bar where guests pass the time. Guests can stay in a unique palm-roofed cottage with open air shower, private garden or terrace, eat at our full service restaurant and relax at our outdoor bar. As San Simian is equipped with a Catamaran, several Kayaks, and other water toys, activity revolves at the lake front and in the clear warm water itself, however, bird and monkey watching in the surrounding forest are also popular, and we are also located at the entrance to a great hike path that leads up the hill to the Pueblas Blancas artisan villages and the stunning Mirador at Catarina. Please Call Ahead if you would like us to arrange a massage, pedicure, Spanish lesson, guided hike, Granada or Masaya tour. ... more   less
