A one day retreat in this peaceful place was such a great experience. One of the best massage I had in my life and exquisite food. The owner is very nice and welcoming you like a member of her family. Going for a swim in the vocano lake in the morning before breakfast is brillian

Apoyo Lodge is set in beautiful surroundings and is truly stunning. As soon as you enter the Lodge you can hear the howler monkeys and birds. Its a great place where you can go to rest, relax and detox.
My Husband and I stayed for 5 nights and have never stayed in a place like A

Our stay here was not enjoyable from start to finish. We tried to arrange a last minute transport to this lodge (located in the middle of no where, after a 20 minute drive over super bumpy and uncomfortable roads not meant for anything more than a small sedan) and were charged $8

Dear Shannon, This is probably one of the most shocking reviews we have ever read, and definitely the most unexpected. When I (Miriam) said goodbye to you on your way to the airport, I was never made aware that you have found your stay so unpleasant to feel compelled to write such a terrible review about your stay. Even though I personally checked on you a few times during your short stay here and you left with a smile in your faces, you never indicated you were unhappy with the room, the facilities or the food. A real shame, as I would have tried my best to do anything in my power to make your stay as pleasant as possible, should I have been given the opportunity. I am however, extremely dissapointed to read about the incident with your transfer the most of all. I guess it is a good thing all of our communications were in writing, and that I have all emails and time sent to prove how it all really went. How your partner had already told me you would book a transfer with us from San Juan del Sur the previous week, and how he would get in touch as soon as you arrived there to let us know time and pick up location. How we never heard again from him, but I still personally wrote to you 2 days before to check on you and got no answer. How on the day of checking around 10am he wrote to say you were not able to find a ride to us, and you wanted to book a driver to pick you up at 1pm in a hotel that it wasnt even in San Juan del Sur. How I responded by saying that I would try my best to make it happen, but due to the short notice, I would send someone to be there in Popoyo for 2pm instead, with a cost of $80 USD to which he agreed. How 45 mins before my driver arrived he emailed to say you had found a cheaper ride and that you wanted to cancel ours, even though I have bent over backwards to make this transfer happen, and you had little regards for someone that had drove at that point for 1.5hrs to get you from, may I say, middle of nowhere too. How I emailed twice to ask you to please wait as the driver was almost there, and how I tried calling your phone too. Our driver ended up driving 4 hours on that day, and when you arrived and found out, you both apologized profusedly and admitted this was your fault and you personally told me to add the ride to your bill (which was, by the way, the decent thing to do). Imagine my surprise to read your words now. You could really hurt a business reputation by being so careless with your words instead of reflecting the truth. It is also worth mentioning that from previous communications (all in emails), your partner had indicated that your intention was to explore the area around us, which is what you did, by leaving the next day to explore Granada, and arranging transport to do a night volcano visit. I am unsure what other activities or things to do you wanted to have in our place, when you had never had any intention of being around anyway. Furthermore, our location is very obviously indicated in Google Maps and we take pride of being located in a remote area that ensures our guests get to unplug and relax. If that is not your style, I am not sure why you would choose us in the first place. Lastly, we gave you an option to grab dinner outside on the second night after your visit to the volcano, and you both said you wanted to dine with us upon return, which is usually a sign that you are enjoying the food, or at least so we thought. Anyway, I am just happy you did enjoy your stay in Nicaragua so much you would want to return, because after all, that is the most important part of the story. I am sure you will enjoy other accommodation options much better than ours, and this wonderful country will benefit greatly from your visit. All the best from the Apoyo Lodge Family.

I stayed at Apoyo Lodge for four nights with my girlfriend and two of our friends. We had a fantastic time.
The food is outstanding and some of the best we had on the whole of our trip to Nicaragua. I’m not vegan and neither were two others from our group that stayed but we love

Hi Apoyo, I just reserved a room at your place. Looking forward to staying at your awesome lodge. I have a couple of questions: 1. Would you arrange for a shuttle from the airport? 2. Would it be possible to find a late night taxi to return from Granada? Just In case we decide to explore Granada's night life? Thanks, Yaniv
When I stayed at Apoyo they were able to arrange rides for us to and from the lodge, though we were a large group all traveling together. I recommend reaching out to Miriam at Apoyo directly, she's incredibly helpful (and say hi to Tommy for me when you get there!)

Hi, Would you have a double room, 2 beds, for tomorrow night, the 15th? How much would that cost? How do we get to and from the Lodge if we are without a car? Are bathrooms shared? Thanks! Ann and Patricia
Hi Ann and Patricia, Thanks for reaching out and sharing interest in Apoyo Lodge. Unfortunately we have no availability during the date you've requested. Hope to catch you the next time around. Sincerely, Sasha Friess
