I stayed at hotel des alpes for a cycling holiday. It was perfect, the buffet breakfast has everything you need, even proper fresh orange juice and loads of fresh pastries. There are evening meals if and when you want them. The standard room i was in was clean, and well equipped, i didnt need anything else. I had a view of the square which was lovely and even included a wonderful view of alpe d'huez. The lady in charge was helpful and courtious. In addition there was a lockable cellar to store bikes with direct access to the square. All in all perfect for cyclists, and it was full of them

Stayed here for four nights in June. Comfortable and recently renovated room (301) with views of the mountains.

In room safe, good bathroom with shower.

Buffet breakfast is good value for 9 euros with as much good coffee as you need.

Underground bike storage is good.

Staff incredibly helpful and very pleasant.

Newly installed hot tub and sauna (although not ready on our visit) would have been a bonus after a very cold ride up and down the Galibier.

I have just come back from a fantastic four night stay - cycling holiday. The location of the hotel is spot on. In the town, literary surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. A few minutes cycle from the foot of Alpe d'Huez. There is secure bike storage, track pump and small tool box for guest to use. If you're looking for spares or repairs, there are bike shops all around. The food was very good quality with good portion sizes. The owners worked incredibly hard, making us feel welcome and relaxed. With alpine roads, mountain streams and breathtaking scenery, you don't need to be a cyclist to enjoy this place, its simply a fantastic place to stay.

A One night stay for a Family of 5. We stayed in the newly refurbished superior rooms and had a wonderful stay. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and flexible...particularly for the storage of my windsurf boards in their cellar! Morning breakfast is very complete and fresh orange juice is there too! Price quality ratio is very good.

Lovely couple launching this hotel into a new era. Room comfortable with new shower. Our room had a design issue in that the toilet was placed right next to the wall making it unable to sit on properly. Other than that, breakfast was great, location perfect for in town and walking around.
Note: there is a cat or cats in the main public area. I had to leave breakfast early because of my serious cat allergy.

We went there for cycling as were all other guests. Hotel is basic but clean and had all the necessities. We upgraded to a superior room at 70 euro per room per night - not sure what 60 euro would be like. Nine euro breakfast was basic but adequate for cycling up Alpe d'Huez.

I stayed here in October 2014 for 5 nights on a cycling trip. The hotel was nice and the rooms were comfortable. We had the full board option and this proved to be a great shout as the dinners were very good and we didn't go hungry. The couple who run the hotel are incredibly hard working and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The hotel proved very good value for money. Will definitely stay here again.

We spent one night at this hotel in June of 2014. The hotel is in the center of town, close to many cafes and shops. We were in the area to do some biking and we were able to rent high quality bikes right next door. On street parking was very convenient.
The property is clearly very old but not neglected; our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. We had breakfast at the hotel, and it was fine - cereal, breads, etc. We would return to this hotel in the future.

I stayed for five nights with a group of Australian cyclists. It was excellent. The town is perfectly positioned for cycling many of the high passes and spectacular valleys of this part of the Alps. The hotel is right in the centre of this small, authentic, quaint and slightly shabby and decaying town. The hotel was comfortable enough for the money. The meals were good. Some rooms have been renovated, others are tired and need work. The hotel was clean and the young owners are trying hard to improve it and make you feel welcome. For a group of cyclists it was excellent. From what we could see it is probably one of the better hotels in town as the more luxurious accommodation tends to now be at the near by ski resorts.

We had a wonderful stay here! The hotel is lovely and perfectly located across the street from the bus stop. The owners were kind and very helpful. Our room was sparse, but comfortable and had a nice view of the square. We enjoyed our spa experience as well. Thank you for the great hospitality!

Hi, Unfortunately there is no off street parking but there is plenty of parking available within 50 - 100m of the hotel which is free. It's nice and quiet next to the river, which is where we parked with no problems. We rented bikes from the shop next door so didn't need the bike store but the owners did say they had space available to store bikes if needed. Hope this helps. Jeremy
