Kinsterna is a beautifully restored manor dated back to the Byzantine era, the rooms are clean and comfy, the staff is incredibly polite, the breakfast boasts astonishing variety and is super yummy. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars as the food at the restaurant was decent yet a bit overpriced and also because I didn't appreciate the architectural...

We stayed in Kinsterna Hotel in early January for 3 days and were amazed with pretty much everything about this lovely hotel. Breathtaking views of natural landscape, excellent personalized service, beautiful spaces designed and decorated with respect to Greek nature and the history of the establishment. Our room was in the main historic building and it was beautifully restored with...

This is a beautiful place to get away from everything. We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the south of the Peloponnese and the fortress town of Monemvasia. The room we stayed was very spacious, with a comfortable bed. It was clean with a great decor and some views of the olive groves. I'm not sure why the description...

We arrived at the Athens Airport, rented a car, and drove straight to Kinsterna. We were greeted in the parking lot by one of the night staff on a golf cart to bring us to reception where we received some welcome treats. We were shown some of the grounds and our room, which was home to an Ottoman fireplace (a...

Kinsterna exceeded our expectations. Located in a great position near Monemvasia castle, this historic building was carefully and tastefully renovated with great attention to detail. We loved the restaurant and the spa facilities. We will definitely revisit it during summer to enjoy the spectacular pool!

A jewel resort, with excellent staff, accommodations, food and luxury amenities. Wonderful spa, extras like cooking classes and demonstrations of bread/olive oil making. All on beautiful grounds of Peloponnese. Cannot wait to return!

I wanted to do something really special to close out a 6 month trip to Greece. So I decided to rent a car and drive to Monemvasia. The Kinsterna couldn't have been a more excellent choice for treating myself and for creating an excellent memory! The hotel and the grounds are truly magical. I couldn't stop looking around - everything...

Rare experience! It's all about authenticity and quality in every detail, sophisticate esthetic in concept, service, amenities. Excellent staff, educated, smiling, relaxed, always available. Discrete and friendly presence of the stylish general manager. He was there for staff and visitors giving this tone of a large family. Exciting surprises in activities. We had a rich and excellent breakfast and gourmet...

So glad we found this magical place after researching hotels in Greece (it should be listed in Monemvasia to help others find it). It would not be an exaggeration to say we decided to visit the Peloponnese after discovering this hotel. Really glad we did (both our decision to visit the mainland and to anchor it around this hotel). The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The internationally acclaimed Kinsterna Hotel was recently awarded by TripAdvisor, the largest and most valid hotel review platform, with the prestigious "Certificate of Excellence 2014". The Kinsterna Hotel, which is a Byzantine-era rural mansion, was painstakingly restored with tremendous respect to its long history, with the intent to establish a comprehensive settlement encompassing the main building and surrounding houses. Moreover, all activities that took place in the past on the premises have been revived. Private label products, including wine, extra virgin olive oil, olives, bread, marmalade and a Greek spirit, called "tsipouro".Tucked away in the folds of the lush hillside, with privileged views of the Medieval Castle's Rock of Monemvasia (Peloponnese, Lakonia region) and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, the restored Byzantine-era rural mansion offers 41 unique rooms, atmospheric suites and autonomous residences and blends magically into the surrounding vineyards, timeless olive groves, imposing eucalyptuses and the lofty cypresses, within an estate of 18 acres. The Kinsterna Hotel breathes a new dimension in the concept of luxury. The enchanting nights with a glass of wine from the local privately owned vineyards next to the Byzantine cistern, the incredible culinary creations from the Greek and the Mediterranean cuisine, with delectable local products and ingredients cultivated in the estate, in the Kinsterna Restaurant, the traditional hearty Greek breakfast, the impressive river-like pool with private relaxation areas amidst the fragrant orange trees, and the atmospheric Kinsterna Spa, with the signature treatments and the highly qualified therapists, highlight the unique experience of the mansion's guests and fully justifies why Kinsterna Hotel was included in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List as one of the 65 best new hotels in the world! ... more   less
