Driving between Maleny and Montville there was a sign indicating Baroon Pocket Dam and whilst on this road we saw a sign indicating a winery, open and available for tastings.
We decided to have a tasting session ($12 per person/5 wines to taste).
The wine list was extensive (8 white wines, 10 reds and 3 desserts) and from those that we sampled, the winery has produced exceptional wines.
Views from the outdoor area are sensational.
Certainly worth visiting this place.

Accommodation was great, just a short walk to vineyard, well appointed would recommend. But the only negative was no oven in the house. There is a microwave and good size fridge plus a wine fridge.
Montville is only a short drive away with plenty of eateries and a pub.

A group of 5 friends and myself enjoyed a nice lunch along with a few bottle of Flame Hill Chardonnay today.
We wanted to try a few other of their wines at a cellar door tasting but you would have thought I’d asked too for much. They normally charge $10 for a tasting of 5 wines but today because our group is more than 4 people we told we had to pay $15 each as well as sit outside in the cold. The waitress at the cellar door was extremely rude and did not try to accommodate us at all . We had just spent over $400 for lunch and was very disappointed not to be able to sample and buy more wine. I wouldn’t recommend this vineyard

Visited here after speaking with a couple who had lunch the day before and raved of the wine and steak. We had a wine tasting which was nice before sitting down for lunch. After seating us the waitress told us there is no Steak, no Fish and no Risotto. Thus leaving duck, salad and a burger left for lunch. This is a Tuesday not a Saturday afternoon or Sunday why would you not have probably 2 of you’re most popular main meals? Also when we rang to put our lunch back half an hour you probably should have mentioned you had bugger all food left? Shame because we had a beautiful view from our table and the place gets great reviews. Cheers.

Visited winery as part of a tour. Wines were of excellent quality but unfortunately staff let the experience down. We arrived and were greeted with indifference and a feeling that staff wanted to go home. We asked for a cheese platter and were advised that chef had left for the day. Tour operator said it was included in the experience and had been booked ahead the day before. Then cheese platter was produced, albeit without biscuits but then biscuits were found when requested. Awkward and uncomfortable feeling. Tour operator was very apologetic even though it was not his fault.

We stayed in the Sinclair Cottage. The cottage has been recently renovated and has been tastefully furnished in keeping with period of the house. There are 3 large double bedrooms, a large dining area with slow combustion wood fireplace, a large lounge with a tv. The kitchen has been really well appointed with modern appliances, dishwasher, large fridge freezer and cooktop (no oven). A large back deck overlooking the vineyard and the hinterland providing spectacular views beyond to steep escarpments and extinct volcanos.

The views over the hinterland and to the ocean are amazing. The sunsets are spectacular!

Been able to walk to the winery and restaurant for a long lunch was a bonus.
The restaurant has an amazing and delicious array of local dishes to tempt you.
The share platters are my recommendation.

The cellar door has a great selection of wines for you to try, the staff are very knowledgable and will guide you through the selection to find your favourite.

Pick your favourite wine to accompany your meal.

Flame Hill is great place to get away for the weekend. If it's just the two of you or the whole gang. You'll be very happy with your stay.

What a dissappointment after looking forward to attending for many years.

First positives, gorgeous location, stunning building and the jazz band from Brisbane.I also have great respect for a local winery running such an event.

Negatives, the entrance festival price didn't even include a glass of wine. The lunch left me a little bewildered! Burgers, pork roll ..white bread, cold pork and two thin slices of raw apple. Gourmet winery lunch, I dont think so.

The second band was at high volume and far from a band for an afternoon in the vineyards, more like a hens party.

The wine stomp, after a 5 hour wait as if you didn't get there early you may not be able to park and no shuttle bus from nearby towns/villages was a fight for a 5 second stomp but at least we got our feet wet!

Would i go to the winery on a normal day ...yes

stomp festival, hmm probably not but then this is just my opinion....maybe i expected more sophistication....very intoxicated individuals had a ball reminding me of a day at the races.

I remembered the food was good and the service prompt
This last visit not so
My steak was over cooked and had too much vein
They lacked staff numbers, however the waitress we had was lovely
We enjoyed the Chardonnay

There isn’t a lot one need for happiness. 2014 Tempranillo, a platter to share and an awesome location. There is also wine tasting and a bunch of idiots trying to act all sophisticated so if you are into people watching you are at the right spot! Staff is incredibly nice and friendly!
