Another wonderful visit to a heavenly retreat that holds a special place in our hearts. We have stayed here numerous times, and always, it never ceases to amaze us. George and Aldy have created such a peaceful haven that is so unique and special that truly must be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Thank you this time to Sarah for making our 33rd wedding anniversary extra special for us and truly unforgettable. Words cannot describe how special you made us feel. We actually had tears in our departure. Please do yourself a favour and stay at Secrets on the Lake at least once. So good for the heart and soul. 🥰💞

Property's Favourite Review
We first saw Secrets on the Lake on a travel show and decided that we just had to stay here! Secrets is so unbelievably beautiful it takes your breath away! We are frequent travellers and have travelled all over Australia and also the world and Secrets must be one of our favourite places that we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, we were met with the warmest of greetings from the staff, which continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly and so professional that you instantly felt relaxed! So we knew we were in for an amazing stay. We stayed in the Dragonfly Luxury Penthouse and it was absolutely stunning! When we opened the door the view took our breath away! We were greeted with panoramic views over Lake Baroon and I don't think I have ever taken so many photos, The sunsets were mesmerising. We were shown around our treehouse which contained everything you could possibly think of, nothing has been overlooked. Our treehouse had a sunken spa with views over the lake, and even chocolates were left next to the spa! There is an abundance of beautiful soft towels and the bed and pillows are so comfortable and soft I cannot even remember going to sleep! The toiletries are beautiful and I bought some to take home so I could continue using the beautiful products at home. We had pre-ordered a cheese platter and spent the afternoon on the deck enjoying a sensational cheese platter with cheese from Maleny Cheeses ( which was delicious)! and enjoyed a bottle of wine while soaking in the stunning view! It really doesn't get any better than this! The treehouses are so private and so quiet it felt like we were the only ones there which we just loved. We parked the car in the car park and we were shown to our treehouse via the elevated walkways which were so unique. As you walk along the walkway you are greeted by these amazing carvings in the railings of animals and reptiles and there are little secret statues all through the property. The walkways are very easy to walk on and very manageable. The staff take your bags so you don't even have to think about that either! On the deck there is a beautiful wooden swinging chair, this is where I spent most of my time, gently swinging in the warm sunshine and balmy breeze reading my book, this was such a highlight of our stay! We had planned to go to some of the local restaurants for dinner but we loved our treehouse so much that we decided to eat in because we didn't want to leave! The restaurant onsite is open for breakfast, lunch, coffee cake and high teas. You can order your dinner and this is delivered to your room with reheating instructions, our meals were divine! Breakfast is served in the restaurant and is included in your room rate and each morning a bag of fresh croissants is delivered to your room and left discreetly on the shelf near the front door. These are made fresh by the chef and they are so delicious. The gardens are spectacular, they are so pretty and so well maintained, they are absolutely stunning!! We didn't want to leave Secrets and if we could have stayed longer we would have! We will most definitely be back again and again!! It really is a magical place! Thank you so much for making our stay so fantastic and so memorable!!

My partner and I are seasoned travelers, having explored over 10 different countries and lodged in more than 50 diverse lodgings, ranging from 5-star hotels to hostels. We had been eager to experience a stay at Secrets for a while, having enjoyed several visits to their restaurant in the past. However, when it came to the actual accommodation, it fell short of our expectations, especially considering its billing as "luxury accommodation" and the corresponding rates. Below, I outline the pros and cons of our personal three-night stay in the Bower treehouse. Positives: 1. The treehouse boasted a breathtaking view. 2. The food served was of excellent quality. 3. The overall cleanliness was commendable. 4. A complimentary breakfast was included. Negatives: 1. We encountered cockroaches in the dishwasher. 2. There were issues with broken toilet seat hinges. 3. Some of the furniture and furnishings, such as rugs, bedspreads, and the couch, appeared outdated and would benefit from an upgrade. 4. The breakfast credit provided was insufficient to cover a simple drink with breakfast, necessitating extra charges for tea and coffee. (We suggest including breakfast beverages or offering breakfast with drinks included.) 5. Breakfast service did not commence until 8 am. In summary, our stay was enjoyable, with the surrounding natural beauty providing a significant highlight. The overall service and accommodation were satisfactory. However, given the plethora of alternative lodgings in Montville and Maleny, along with our prior experiences in similar accommodations, there seems to be a sense of complacency and a lack of attention to necessary improvements and reviews.

Thanks Rob! Pleased your enjoyed your Secrets experience. The fish is extremely popular. So often Fish of the Day is served with steamed vegetables and is bland but with an interesting salad with soba noodles it becomes a taste treat. Similarly with our Secret Salad and the Soufflé dish, we have created a salad that ticks all the boxes for a nutritious lunch without the tomato and cucumber (which contain lignins) but with special ingredients that are a pure taste treat. Say hello next time you come. Kind regards Georgevand Aldy!

Wow - it was truly magical to stay in our Luxury Treehouse up in the rainforest. Everything about our stay was incredible from the staff to the wonderful attention to detail at every turn from the treehouse to the gardens to the cafe. We would recommend a stay in the Lizards Lair. Our interactions with George were particularly special and it was lovely to meet Aldy. A special thanks to the early morning ninja who delivered our croissants :-) From Kay & Chris, Stratford, NZ.

Thankyou Kay and Chris we really appreciate your comprehensive review about you stay. We like to think of our experience as being family based rather than corporate and our staff have really responded to this in the service they provide. Of course George is the icing on the cake as he enjoys our customers and entertains with his brand of humour. So pleased after travelling from NZ you had a special experience and thanks again. Kind regards Aldy!

A delightful drive into the hinterland to this amazing venue that we hadn't visited since pre-pandemic days. We were greeted by friendly staff and were seated at a table with a gorgeous view over the lake. Drinks ordered straight away and food orders taken, then left to enjoy the scenery until our meals arrived, all fresh and well presented, and tasting even better. We will definitely return again to one of our favourite places in Montville.

It was ok. The view is lovely from the balcony. The staff were friendly enough and the food was just ok. But this wasn't a faultless experience for us. They couldn't find our booking when we arrived, then they served up the main course whilst we were still eating our entrees and just left them on the table. Don't order the espresso martini. It's our favourite cocktail and we usually order one if there's one on the menu, but this one was just wrong. it was more like bistro food than restaurant quality. Not sure I could recommend this one. Sorry.

Hello Globe Trottery Fun, I am sorry that we missed the mark on the day that you visited us. We have since had two head chefs take over with the food being elevated to delicious. I will look at the way we make our Espresso Martinis. We have had nice comments of them in the past. We would love for you to try out one of our treehouses overlooking the lake.
