We stayed at Montville Village Bed and Breakfast recently for two nights.
The décor of this bed and breakfast is just beautiful and it is spotlessly clean.
The views from the verandah off the bedroom just breathtaking.
The breakfasts were beautiful and plentiful, and there were many other provisions left in the kitchen for us e.g. when we arrived there were muffins and also a container of biscuits for us to eat.. A wide selections of teas and coffees to help yourself to was also available..
We have stayed at many places over the years around the Montville area and this was by far the best.
When it came time leave we just didn't want to go and hope to return before too long.

Wow! My fiancé and I have just returned from a luxurious and relaxing getaway to Montville Village B & B. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and made to feel completely at ease. Janet showed us around, gave us tips on the local area and left us to settle in at our own pace. With both us working busy jobs, it was so lovely to be given the peace and quiet that we had gone there to enjoy but know that Janet & Steve were just a phone call or a knock on the door away should we need anything.
The Ocean Spa room was a pure delight - lush king bed and furnishings, amazing views from the balcony, a massive spa with a luxurious marble surround and yet another amazing view, his & hers spacious vanities, top quality toiletries and a hidden flat screen tv with Austar access and DVD player. Just outside the door is a dedicated guest kitchenette, complete with exotic tea, coffee and home-baked goodies. We came home after a day out to find some freshly baked cookies and carrot cake - what a treat!
Each evening we chose the following morning's breakfast from a extensive menu, and each morning at our chosen time we would meander downstairs to find a table on the pergola fully set and just waiting for us to arrive. Our chosen meals were always perfectly cooked, and yes; you can believe what everyone else has said about Janet's cooking - it was absolutely heavenly!
All in all, we had a thoroughly rejuvenating stay at Montville Village B & B, and can't wait to return in the future. We would not hesitate to recommend Janet & Steve's property to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.

Thank goodness that the B&B image has changed. Gone are the lace doilies and the bathroom across the hall. B&Bs are no longer the domain of the older generation either. So many young people have discovered the intimacy and personal touches that come with staying at a B&B. It is a pleasure to ensure that each of guests enjoy their stay, their breakfasts and leave feeling rested and refreshed.

I stayed for 2 nights this past weekend and I can't even begin to describe how perfect it was. The view was stunning, the rooms were spotlessly clean and Janet's cooking is amazing!
I loved the fact I could walk into the village and walk back again (even with all my shopping!) after enjoying a glass of wine with a late lunch. Janet's breakfast kept me going strong until 2:30pm - and I didn't even get through half of it!
Janet has a fantastic eye for detail and everything is decorated beautifully. There is a definite sense of elegance, luxury and opulence but it's all so tasteful and not OTT at all. Janet is the perfect host - warm, welcome, friendly and informative but not overbearing in the slightest, as some B'n'B hosts can be.
Overall, it is an amazing B'n'B in a beautiful
location. I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Montville and I'll certainly be staying there again. I honestly couldn't fault a single thing.

Thanks to Jeanette and Stephen they were great hosts and very welcoming .The pictures in the online gallery were nice but when we actually walked into the king spa room we were delightfully gobsmacked, and the pictures online don't do it enough justice. A stunning room with a lovely layout very elegant . The king bed was soo comfy not to soft or firm we did some catching up of sleep here waking up feeling nice and fresh without a sore back . We ate our lovely cooked brekkies out on the balcony with the most beautiful veiw . I highly recommend this bnb you won't be dissapointed .

I rarely write reviews & if so wait a week or so to ensure my initial opinion stays with me.Recently My wife,daughter & myself had the pleasure of staying at Janet & Steve's Carislea Cottage and were overwhelmed with the service,amenity,ambience & unsurpassed luxury afforeded us.
Fresh from the oven bread delivered early morn,along with all you could ask for breakfast.The magnificent views,a warming fireplace,gourmet kitchen,every amenity you could wish for!
I could go on however suffice to stay EXCEPTIONAL,congrats to you both for the outstanding attention to even the smallest detail.
We will of course be coming back.Ron,Rhonda & Keryn WILSON

We stayed in Carislea Cottage, a new addition to the Montville Village B&B. The cottage is set a little further up the road to the main house and sits in its own plot perched on the top of the hill. Recently constructed, this two bedroomed cottage cannot be faulted. The furnishings are superb and everything you could need has been provided. The views from the property are breathtaking. This property is very highly recommended for a stay in this great hilltop village.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Carislea. We have tried to incorporate all the things we like to find in a property when we travel. Little things, like homemade biscuits and goodies in the fridge. Being able to walk to restaurants and having a fabulous view are aslo important to us and it seems that our guests like these things too. I also love cool breeze in hot weather and Carislea certainly delivers with afternoon breezes.

As others have so eloquently said, Janet and Steve have created a wonderful haven to restore and revive us weary souls. With the warmest welcome, in no time at all, we were settled on the balcony relaxing with nibblies, taking in the idyllic views. The suite is spacious and the divine bed allows you to curl up and overlook the valleys below out to the ocean, especially love the twinkling of the coastal lights as the full moon rises high overhead. The crisp evenings allowed us the joy of sipping our wine by the fire before strolling to the nearby Montville Pub. Settle down by the lush gardens and allow yourself the pleasure of savoring Janet's delicious, gourmet breakfast. Please do order the porridge, unlike any I've ever tasted, topped with glazed apple and maple syrup. Yum! Speaking of taste, the scrambled eggs from "the girls" is also a must along with the home made marmalade!!! Breakfast is a celebration of flavours and produce. Not to be rushed. Loved chatting with Janet and sharing holiday's.
Recommend a leisurely stroll around the garden to view the gorgeous blooms, especially the cascade of lilac wisteria.
There is a kitchenette with fridge and microwave to allow you to reheat if you choose to stay in. Thoughtfully set up.
From the finest teas and coffees to sip with the oh so scrumptious carrot cakes left invitingly for us, to the quality toiletries, beautiful linens and classic furnishings, Montville
Village B and B is pure luxury made especially memorable by the generous hospitality of Janet and Steve.

We were amazed at the attention to the finest details. Janet blew us away with the range and quality of amazing culinary experiences on offer. We wanted to stay longer just to try the food. We have been for two anniversaries in a row. Janet and Steve are two hosts who ensure your stay is what YOU want. Right away we felt like their home was our home and we could relax as if we were at home. It was also nice because there is a max. of two rooms. We have never seen any other couples whilst we stayed. The view is also amazing, yet it is not too far from Montville's main street. Thanks so much, Jp & Keren.

We are certainly fortunate that the B&B is situated so close to the village. Our guests appreciate being able to walk to the restaurants, have a wine or two and walk home. There are only two rooms at our B&B and we find this does help to foster a sense of intimacy and privacy. Having said that, there is always someone around ready to have a chat if people want some company.

Jeanette and Stephen go the extra mile to ensure guests have a wonderful stay. Their service, care and attention to detail is unwavering. The B and B is maintained very well and the rooms and views allow you to feel relaxed as soon as you walk in the door. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast each morning was faultless.
