Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Especially for people who live in the city this is an oasis of calm and beauty. The road leading there off the main road is well maintained and surrounded by beautiful gardens or natural bush. The cabins are spotless and well maintained. The breakfast is abundant. The birds are a joy and the silence is wonderful. Christine and Anton are helpful and discreet hosts. Would love to go back.

Room Tip: Cuddlepie is very accessible as you can park your car right at the door. Also very private.

A perfect place for a couples getaway. The cabins are clean, well furnished and supplied. I can also highly recommend the hampers. Christine and Anton provide hampers that include everything you need to enjoy the food and drink in the hampers.

Third stay at Montville Country Cabins. We stayed again in Cuddle-Pie cabin, the complimentary cheese platter and champagne was greatly appreciated, the breakfast hamper was plentiful, with fresh food that kept us going for the five days of our stay. It is always relaxing and restful and is a great base to travel from to see the surrounding attractions on the Sunshine coast. I would recommend Montville Country Cabins to couples and families, as the larger cabins cater for more than 2 people.

We have stayed here before 12 years ago and can confirm that nothing, but a deterioration of the property has taken place in during time.

The disappointment starts when you drive into a driveway that is more 4-wheel drive track than entrance to as their website described as ‘deluxe accommodation’.

The cabin came complete with a sagging floor between the balcony door and the fireplace that felt terribly unsafe, cracked and loose tiles in the bathroom as well as cracked ceiling plaster. The bed mattress felt like it had not been changed since we were last there and pillows with dirty pillowcases were on the bed.

The first night we arrived it rained and water entered the property via the front door during the night.

Given all these problems the whole cabin felt very tired and not worth the price.

Relaxing and beautiful cottage and gardens, pond and pathway. Our hosts were very helpful, generous with the hampers and especially the fabulous seafood hamper. The log fire and the rain on roof features were great fun!

We had a 2 night stay, thoroughly enjoyed the accomodation, particularly the wood fire!
We met both hosts who were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast basket was very generous and my gluten free requirements were successfully catered for! Lovely view over the lake, very peaceful and private.

We have recently returned from another lovely stay at Montville Country Cabins. This time we stayed in cosy Snuggle Pot. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We loved the rain head shower and spa bath. Generous breakfast provisions were provided, enough for our 3 night stay. We had also ordered a BBQ hamper which had 3 lovely salads, our choice of meat and a yummy home made dessert. The next day we picked up our pre ordered picnic hamper and went on a scenic drive. We found a lovely spot for our picnic and were blown away by our delicious picnic spread. The gardens are beautifully maintained and we love the rainforest setting surrounding the lake. We had lots of visits from some cheeky kookaburras. We were very relaxed after our great weekend. We will be back in the future. Looking forward to another picnic!!!

Beautiful setting and the location was great. We stayed in The Cabin was good for what we wanted, although as it was very hot and humid while we were there in January. Could have done with a fan downstairs. The bedroom had an Air con, thankfully. The pathway could be made a bit safer, as it had a lot of roots breaking the pathway. The Continental breakfast was very good, plenty of variety. The hosts were very helpfull.

Thank you Joan D for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit. Unfortunately it is not possible to install a fan in the cabin as the ceiling is now too low for safety. Usually our mountain weather is a bit cooler and the upstairs air-con is enough for evenings with the double doors etc open during the day to catch the breezes. The downside of having lots of lovely trees around is that they do continue to grow and we have to make big decisions about removing any We are certainly keeping an eye on the path you mention, thanks. We look forward to welcoming you another time.

We absolutely loved our week long stay at MCC the romantic cabin was exactly what we wanted to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The cabin was secluded and surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees, we really fekt like we were the only ones there. It is a wonderful spot to explore all that the area has to offer. The amazing breakfast hamper and the warm welcome made us feel very special and totally pampered.

We had a great weekend at Montville Country Cabins. Arrived Friday night and left Sunday with a complimentary late checkout. We were the last cabin on Christine and Anton’s property and the cabin and surrounds were just what we needed. Quiet and peaceful with a pair of Kookaburras visiting for breakfast. Loved the spa and wood fire with breakfast, chocolates and port supplied. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and the property is only minutes away from bush walks at Lake Baroon and Kondallila Falls. Recommend Elements cafe for lunch.
