Everything has been meticulously thought of; you literally need clothes and toiletries. I usually pack my standard 'hotel' kitchen items - washing detergent, cloths, a knife, paper towels, glad wrap etc... but these were already stocked in the cottage. Also included was milk, juice, butter, condiments, oil etc.... enough for your entire trip. Breakfast items supplied daily and a bottle of wine on arrival - if you book on their website. Right next to the Kondalilla Falls, if you want a nice, easy walk. No one to annoy you, no children, just a little bit of wildlife and great scenery.

My husband and I from England stayed at Montagues of Montville for a week in April while visiting family in the area, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay, the food and the cleanliness of the spacious cottage was outstanding while being surrounded by nature, it was such a relaxing place to unwind especially at the end of the day in the lovely big spa with a glass of bubbly. Kate and Gary who run this wonderful place are a lovely couple who chatted and made us feel really welcome and the food was plentiful for both of us, we also ordered a platter from Kate which was so nice and tasty and a great size too. The area is lovely and the waterfall and nice to be away from the hustle of the city. We would highly recommend Montagues to anyone visiting montville or the surrounding areas u won’t be disappointed and when we go back in the future to visit our family in the area we will definitely try to stay there again, can only give 5 stars but would give more if we could it was excellent. Regards to them both and their little frenchie Reggie Pam & George.

The wonderful owners, Kate and Gary, helped give us a perfect anniversary weekend. From amazing complimentary breakfast hampers to the little personal touches of homemade baths salts, you would not want for anything more except to stay longer. Very clean cabin with beautiful landscapes. Close to the entrance to Kondalilla Falls. Their Luxe Picnic Package was worth the extra money for all the delicious foods and drinks in a relaxing setting.

We absolutely loved staying here. So close to the Kondilila Rainforest walk and waterfalls. You can literally step out the gate and start a short walk through the national park to the falls. After your walk you can enjoy a drink or two in the spa while you enjoy the secluded view of the forest through the windows.
Although a lot of people like to stay during the winter, the warmer months are definitely catered for with air conditioning (if you need it) but the rainforest is generally a couple of degrees cooler than its surroundings.
Parking is great. No tussles for tight parking spots as there are just two cabins at Montagues and the car park is a generous size.
Pro tips: 1. Make sure you are strong enough to carry your luggage up/down a flight of steps.
2. Feed the Kookaburra. You’re on his property. His name is Kevin :)
3. Internet is so so. But you don’t come to the rainforest to look at screens anyway.
4. Your hosts are amazing, let them know if you need anything.
Actually, the hosts are what sets Montagues miles ahead of the rest. Contact with the host is a perfect balance of making sure your stay is comfortable and giving you space to enjoy your time there.
We had the breakfast package included in your stay and our hosts were very understanding about our dietary needs which was such a relief.
We’ll most definitely be back there as soon as we can.

Just spent a couple of nights at this amazing property and will most definitely be returning. Julianne is a wonderful and most considerate host; she has thought of everything to ensure that you have a memorable stay. The cabins are warm and welcoming, the breakfast hampers are beautifully and thoughtfully put together, the bed is super comfortable and then on top of all that you are immersed in the rainforest. We took advantage of the location and did the walk in the morning before the track got too busy and then explored the region before returning for a relaxing afternoon on the balcony. This place is special....thank you Julianne.

There are 2 cabins set within the rainforest at the edge of Kondalilla Falls walking track. The cabin is well equipped, a big spa bath overlooking the rainforest, wood burning fire, air conditioning, Private deck, well equipped kitchenette. Lovely breakfast hamper delivered daily. It is perfect for a couples retreat. Close to Montville township, a great restaurant next door (easy walking). Good communication with the hostess, Julianne - easily contactable but non intrusive. I think this is one of the best choices for accommodation in the area.

Stunning! We stayed for our mini honeymoon and wish we had more time to stay longer! The location is close to Montville and literally a stones throw from Kondalilla rainforest walk. The cottage itself was beautiful and and serene with everything in it that you need plus more. Julianne was a very kind and thoughtful host and it is clear a lot of love and energy is put into the whole place - from the fresh cut flowers and well stocked fire to the daily breakfast hamper. Would highly recommend and hope to to stay again!

We returned for our 15 Year Wedding Anniversary. Julianne's attention to detail is 2nd to none from the first email to every aspect of the stay. We were warmly welcomed and looked after. It was like being greeted by a close friend. The cabins are very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Again, It was the small details that stood out and many of the touches were very thoughtful and caring. The location is very peaceful yet close to amenities. Very impressed and you won't be disappointed.

We've come back again to this lovely property in the rainforest. Only 2 cabins and a host who is just lovely and always goes out of her way to make your stay special. Little touches like rose petals on the bed and the fire set and ready to light. The property is right next to the falls picnic area and walks and only a short drive into Montville for the shops and cafes.

The cabins are off the road a few steps away from the Kondalilla national park. The park has beautiful bush walks and a rock pool popular for swimming.
The cabin was clean, modern and comfortable. The standout factors for this place were the warm welcome from Julianne and the individual touches in the cabin that made it a truly memorable stay.

33 years is memorable in itself, so am pleased I could add to the wonderful occasion! Yes Dianne B, you certainly can not get closer to Kondalilla Falls, unless they let you camp there, ( which they don’t , 😀) now the rain has arrived, it’s good to see it flowing again! Am very thankful for the review and hope Montville will always hold a place in you heart! XX
