We stayed at Altitude on Montville for a couple of nights for a small getaway and everything was great. We had dinner at there restaurant one night and it was fantastic would be one of the best meals we have ever had .Top marks to the Chef and would certainly recommend a stay here.
Very good 2 bed-room apartment, quiet even though close to the road. Well appointed and roomy. Excellent restaurant, nice ambiance. No hesitation to recommend. We were celebrating a birthday and enjoyed well presented cocktails and sampled a good deal of the menu. All the dishes were top class and very flavoursome. Staff were friendly and provided great service.
Beautifully decorated room with a spa on the balcony and a fire place in the room. A lovely romantic getaway room for couples (be mindful that the toilet has no door though) with amazing views from the balcony, over the valley and to the ocean. It was very clean and offered daily room tidy. It also had a coffee pod machine, kettle, small amounts of kitchen stuff and a bar fridge. There was some traffic noise from the main road off the balcony however its not a constant busy road and there was zero outside or neighbouring noise once the doors were closed. Short walk along the walkway to get to the shops and restaurants and free on site parking. Would definately recommend staying here.
The room we chose had a spa bath on the kind of ‘enclosed balcony’ but the fact that it faces straight into a main road and opens right onto an outdoor seating area below means there is absolutely no chance of having a relaxing bath at all because you either hear cars roaring by or presumably people below who might be eating and drinking outside. A further point on noise: the bathroom has no door. That’s just mad!!!! The shower has two shower heads so you can both shower at the same time (a nice gimmick) but the left hand side shower head has no glass in front of it so the water just goes everywhere into the bathroom. Perhaps that designer didn’t finish his degree!!!!! There was also a random flimsy blind looking into the bathroom from the bedroom, above the suitcase rack between two cupboards, that served no purpose whatsoever except that it further lessened the bathroom privacy. The weirdest thing was the public holiday situation. We were checking in for one night on 1 January. First thing that morning we received a text indicating they were giving us a ‘complimentary early checkin’. I replied saying thanks but we’d be there in the afternoon and wouldn’t arrive before normal checkin time due to other activities. At 2pm they called to ask where we were as they were closing the reception desk! So it was rubbish about the ‘complimentary early check in’!!! We had to call when we arrived at the front door later on to get someone to come down from the pub, their sister property, to unlock the door and give us the key. How can a hotel desk be unattended like that during daytime hours even on a public holiday. Too strange!!! Lugging heavy luggage up two flights of stairs was hopeless too. Maybe there was a lift (not sure???) but since the communal area was locked off due to the closure any thoroughfare was inaccessible. There is a coffee machine in the room and they provide two pods. TWO!?!?!?! That is so cheap. There were not even any sachets of instant coffee as an alternative yet there were about 15 teabags. So that’s great if you like tea! Not a good location or experience generally so we were pleased it was only one night. …
Hubby and I booked to stay here for 5 nights and we loved it! Room was spacious and clean. Loved the coffee machine and bathrobes provided. Bathroom was also very large (double shower was great). Our favourite feature was of course the spa bath on the balcony, and having complimentary bath salts was a nice touch. We also ordered breakfast in bed one morning and it was excellent! All in all a wonderful stay - hubby has already said it's one of the next hotels we've stayed in, in Queensland!
