Hotel's Favourite
Firstly, of course the setting is amazing, and we were lucky to have a King Parrot fly down onto our balcony while we were eating breakfast one morning. There are plenty of birds and wildlife but not always easy to capture on camera.
The attention to detail and comfort of the accommodation is exceptional. The bed and pillows are so comfy. We loved the breakfast hamper which included fresh fruit, bread, butter, jams, eggs, with bacon and yogurts in the fridge (although we didn’t cook). The fresh croissants each morning were delicious. Of course, various teas, coffee, milk and biscuits. A couple of special chocolates which were delicious.
They offer a dine in your villa option, (meals and drinks) and although we didn’t use this, we felt there was a good choice and not over priced.
There’s so much to see and do in the area especially if you like walking. As well as some of the shorter walks we visited Montville, a picturesque artisan village and Maleney, with it’s bustling high street and beautiful views. Id also recommend the short trip to Gardeners Falls as you pass this in the way in or out, it’s nice spot for a picnic on a hot day. We only had a 2 night stay but could have stayed longer and explored a lot more.

My surprise birthday weekend away was absolutely amazing. The retreat is so quiet and peaceful, you wouldn’t know there were any other guests or cabins. The hammock on the sunny balcony was so relaxing with birds dropping by to feed from the bird feeders. Inside, the cabins are beautiful, fresh flowers on the table, chocolates and bottled water by the super comfortable king bed and the bathroom has everything you need. The spa bath in the lounge near the wood fire is great. Kindling, fire lighters and cut wood provided. All you need is in the kitchen - a breakfast basket filled to the brim with quality foods, bacon and eggs in the fridge, a cheese platter and even Port and glasses to sip by the fire on a chilly night.
A wonderful place for a romantic getaway - the hosts have thought of everything to make your weekend amazing💕 We will be back 👩❤️👨

My husband and I spent two indulgent nights at the Narrows Escape. We got a great deal through Luxury Escapes which included a few extras such as a complementary cheese platter, a BBQ dinner hamper and a bottle of sparkling wine. We stayed in the Butcherbird cabin which was in an elevated and private position amongst the rainforest. What struck us was the attention to detail - fresh roses and chilled sparkling wine awaited us as we arrived, as well as a generous breakfast hamper crammed with fresh baked bread, fresh farm eggs, an array of beautiful fresh fruit and in the fridge local bacon, Maleny milk and yoghurts and a delicious cheese platter from Maleny cheeses! Not to mention chocolates and choc chip biscuits, you're never going to go hungry at the Narrows Escape! Even thoughtful details like a bottle of white vinegar so you can poach your eggs to perfection at breakfast impressed us! The cabin itself is well equipped and comfortable, from a full kitchen with all the pots, pans, plates and kitchen gadgets you could ever need (along with a cute sized dishwasher!), dining area for two, lounge area with leather lounge with TV, comfy pillows and a throw to keep you warm. The bedroom has the most luxuriously comfortable bed we'd ever slept on! The bathroom has a spacious sunken spa bath with french windows that open onto the rainforest. Once we got used to having no window coverings we enjoyed using the bathroom! In the shower there are beautiful organic Mukti bath products which smell divine (and available for purchase too at reception). The hammock on the deck is so comfy, the Weber BBQ perfect for a BBQ dinner on the decks, and even mosquito repellant and coils are provided. There is a bird feeder off the deck which gorgeous King parrots and other birds go to feed (unfortunately we only realised the morning we left that there was a jar of birdseed to top up the feeder and attrack the birds!). The owners were very friendly and welcoming and I think they've done a fantastic job creating a luxurious, peaceful escape where you can enjoy being pampered in nature.

This was my fourth stay at Narrows, but the first for my partner. I was so eager that he experienced the same magic I’ve always felt there, and Ali and Xochi absolutely delivered. The beautiful sound track was playing, there were fresh roses, and a complimentary cheese platter and port. The cottages have been renovated since I last stayed, and the updated kitchens feature everything we needed to self cater, right down to a dishwasher and convection oven.
The breakfast hamper that is supplied was plentiful and everything we could possibly need, right down to the locally produced milk and yogurt. The bbq pack we purchased was enough to feed us both so well, every little thing was thought of, right down to the selection of condiments and extra ice cream for the desserts.
We had a magical, relaxing stay, just what we needed to perk ourselves back up again. There’s something about falling asleep in the hammock to the sounds of the birds, or watching the raindrops fall against the skylight that is just so relaxing. Narrows used to be my happy place, now it’s our happy place. Thank you so much again for your wonderful hospitality. We can’t wait to come back.

My partner and I had a weekend away at this little piece of heaven to celebrate his birthday. We stayed in the Whipbird Cottage and the attention to detail to create a relaxing and comfortable space to unwind, was fantastic. From the chockies on the pillows to the bathrobes to the beautiful and plentiful breakfast basket, only to be outdone by freshly baked croissants delivered warm to your cottage each morning. It was so quiet with the only noise to be heard being the sound of the brook near our cottage and the variety of bird life that call the rainforest their home. There is also a double spa, and a hammock on the verandah that was also used to relax and soak in the serenity. We also had a lunch booked at a local restaurant and we driven there and picked up by Xochi, one of the owners, as a complimentary service which was very much appreciated. We will definitely be going again. Thank you Ali and Xochi, you’re great hosts. Thank you for making our stay so easy and relaxing.

With both kids at school camp, we took the opportunity to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary at Narrows Escape. Whilst it may seem pricey, those with a keen eye will see the value in the food and amenities provided.
All local produce, quality tea, coffee and wine. Meats, cheeses and fruit were exceptional. Body products (soap, shampoo etc) weren’t cheap and disposable. You are treated to high end delicious smelling products.
BBQ pack and ready made dinners were fantastic and the freshly made croissants were flakey and delicious. Food served in a sustainable way using baskets, jars, cloth bags and containers. These touches are what you’re paying for. In addition to the seclusion and being only one of a handful of other couples staying onsite.
Cabin is comfortable without being state of the art but part of the charm comes from feeling like a log cabin in the middle of the woods. Artisan chocolates on the bed were delicious and loved the little hand made ANZAC biscuit also.

We stayed in the Rosella cottage for three nights in July and thoroughly recommend it for a quiet getaway. Our cottage was spotlessly clean and provided a lot of thoughtful extras that others don't. The welcome cheese platter and chilled wine was a lovely ending to a stressful escape from the Brisbane traffic. The fire kept our cottage lovely and warm and the spa bath with a window to the garden was very relaxing. We spent hours sitting on the private verandah watching the birds, cooking our food on the bbq and relaxing. There is no need to go anywhere if you don't want to. Ali and Xochi are amazing hosts, very friendly and obliging and yet unobtrusive. Xochi makes the most divine croissants I have ever eaten. If you don't like croissants I suggest you try these, they are too die for! Xochi delivered them, freshly baked, to our room every morning and we did not see him deliver them once. The smell when you open the bag is the best! The breakfast hamper was substantial and we ate from it for the three days we were there. The hamper and fridge were stocked with beautiful local produce, no long life milk in a little carton here! The fridge contained some beautiful wines (the rose' was lovely) and beer from Brouhaha Brewery in Maleny. The beer was also good so we bought a mixed carton from the brewery on the way home. If you want somewhere to relax and unwind, where the hosts manage to perfectly balance offering wonderful service and maintaining your privacy, this is the place. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Narrows Escape and can't wait to go back. The hosts are helpful and friendly and offer that little bit extra to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Loved it!

What a wonderful location and base from which to explore a genuinely beautiful and easy going part of South East Qld ie The Sunshine Coast & Hinterland.
Our Pavillion "Wagtail", was nestled into a beautiful bush surrounding, rustic and unassuming from the outside but offering more than we could have hoped for inside with modern design layout and amenities, we wanted for nothing. The cleanliness, service and attention to detail was fantastic
Interaction with the local wildlife was much looked forward to as we put out daily the feed provided for a myriad of beautiful birds that came calling onto our deck.
The BBQ pack & Dinner Pack that formed part of our package made meal time simple and something to savour. "The Lamb on the Bone Curry" in particular was delicious".
Our Breakfast Hamper kept us well fed for the duration of our stay we with an excellent variety of local produce, fruit and cereals. The fresh delivery and prompt delivery of croissants every day wasn't hard to take either.
Our hosts were the most beautiful and welcoming of folk, polite and so helpful.
We'll be back again in the cooler months when we can stoke up the fire and nestle in with a nice glass of red and let the world go by a few more days....just superb and thoroughly enjoyable.

We visited Narrows for one night and were greeted with a smile and genuine kindness. There was an amazing breakfast hamper in the room with fresh fruit, fresh bread and even bacon and fresh eggs in the fridge. The room was spotlessly clean and nestled in our own private patch of jungle. We loved listening to the sounds of all the wildlife in the air conditioned comfort of our room. It was a truly luxurious jungle experience that we would recommend to anyone looking to create a lasting memory. The warm freshly baked croissants hanging outside our door in the morning was also especially nice.

We stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon and it was unforgettable. Private, tranquil, so relaxing and comfortable. Like others have said, the attention to the little details make a stay here incredible and I love how much they showcase the local area. The cabin contains everything you could possibly need with added little luxuries such as the fresh croissants, breakfast hamper and local chocolates. The bed is like a cloud, the toiletries in the bathroom smell amazing (so much I had to buy a bottle!), the service is lovely and we just did not want to leave! We will definitely be back :)
