The Chestnuts is a converted and extended coach house. We were made very welcome by the owner, signed in and directed to our room. The rooms was traditionally furnished with bed, drawer and mirror unit, a large wall wardrobe with a small en suite shower room and toilet with sink. Unfortunately because people smoke on the property, our room did... More

Booked at very short notice (just a few hours) so wasn't surprised when I didn't get the best room (I was told it was Jenny's son's room). It was a small single room facing the road. No hanging space for clothes (the son's wardrobe was tied closed with string) and the room smelled either very stale or of smoke (I... More

Where do I start... We arrived at the B & B ( Bed & BREAKFAST, notice the capitals! ) with high hopes of great service and a freshly COOKED breakfast which we expected to be included in our initial payment, and we where only notified in the final bill of the large surcharge . It turns out that the COOKED... More

My first time staying in. B & B and I was surprised, having to stay in hotels through out the Uk for business I have found most fall short in most areas of basic service, but the Chestnuts is different, my room was lovely, with a nice calm feel about it, gave me my best nights sleep for a long... Had a comfortable night at the chestnuts, welcoming and friendly with a good quality breakfast, good parking and pretty garden. Room clean and well presented, comfy bed. Busy road but double glazed windows keeps the noise levels down, would definitely book again

After a poor stay in a hotel within Atherstone, I thought I'd chance another location, but made a mistake in believing they did evening meals, too. The landlady did have a series of brochures and pamphlets for some dining places, so there are recommendations for foodies. Although the premesis have a sign outside, I still managed to drive past (the... More

We booked our room. We drove 2 and a bit hours to a hotel with no clear signs on a main road. When we got there, the owner had gone on holiday to Turkey and left the hotel in the very uncapable hands of a random "mate". The 3 rooms had been triple booked. We then sat in a dark... More

This place describes itself as "100 year old country house with charm and an inglenook fire place, set in private grounds". It is in fact immediately on a very busy, noisy, fast road with lorries hurtling along constantly. I insisted that I could not possibly sleep through the noise, so I was rudely told to "go elsewhere or pay extra... More
