"Stay to Play" for two days with Girls U11 Futsal team. It was certainly not a hotel I'd visit again. For starters, all families within our soccer group complained of how hot their rooms were throughout their nights. Many opted to open their balcony doors to allow the 30 degree temperatures outside to cool the room. It was apparent that the thermostat in our room was pre-programmed to not allow temperature to be set to cool.
We stayed in room 618, which needs some maintenance done. The bathroom door is completely warped and should be replaced. Pictures will show the severity of the damage. The blue couch is stained with a "white substance" on both sides of the seat cushion. The head cushions aren't any better as there was crusty substance atop two of the three head cushions. It was not a place any in my party sat on. The white stain can immediately be seen once you enter the room. Why has a housekeeper not steam cleaned, or perhaps taken the cushion covers off for cleaning?
Having an indoor pool available during stays with children is imperative. During our stay the pool was completely green, and the heater was broken. This became a problem as the children became bored and found themselves at times walking around the hotel, or taking elevators more than required. There was absolutely no activities for the children. Thankfully we played some card games and board games, but never once did hotel staff offer up a large conference room to possibly host a movie night.
The inner layout of the hotel is very nice with the bar/restaurant and elevators being viewed from any floor if you walk up to the railing and look down into lounge area. I must say that the elevators are very slow, and I found myself taking the stairs to walk up/down to the sixth floor. We did notice that the elevators were in need of inspection, as one had a last inspection of 2021, while the other had 2023. Could attribute to the sluggish service.
On our second day we noticed one of the areas in lounge/bar area blocked off and a large amount of towels on floor along with a large laundry/garbage trailer was full of water. We looked up and noticed the roof area was leaking from an HVAC unit. At checkout, the area was still blocked off.
On a positive note, the bar staff were great. During Happy Hour between 5:30pm-7:00pm they could use a third bartender as the single file line gets pretty long. Having two bartenders on during that time seemed a bit overwhelming to them at times. They did handle the rush pretty well, but again a third person would help move the line along quicker. The burgers were pretty good too.
The stay wasn't horrible, but I've had much better stays. The hotel is a bit dated and could use some updates and improvements.

Thanks for your stay and candid response. We are certainly addressing many of your noted concerns. Due to the sub-freezing temperatures in mid-january our pool heater (which is outside) froze and a replacement is in the works. A roof-top unit coils also froze causing the atrium leak you noted. We do offer our sports teams a mtg. room, sign-up at the desk is available for a small fee, should you need space or for your outside pizza gatherings. I've shared your comments with our new F&B manager to address the weekend comments on the complimentary reception. We will continue to make corrections and address all concerns. Yes, our elevators are slow, but all elevators were recently inspected in late 2024 we are just waiting for the inspection forms returned. We are also looking to future capital investments to improve their efficiency ahead.

Was a bit concerned after reading a few recent reviews but no issues at all for myself and 8 other Co workers who stayed here. Very large 2 room suites with kitchen area. Room seemed recently updated. Happy hour and breakfast included can't go wrong. Snowflake as our bartender was accommodating and friendly. Good location will return if on the area

Hotel could use some TLC, the young blonde woman who checked us in was extremely friendly and accommodating(she seemed like a trooper sick wearing a mask, sanitized before making keys etc.) made sure we had everything we needed I.e pack n play extra towels as we arrived around 10pm! Overall it was okay for us to rest overnight! I do recommend letting staff take sick days, felt sorry for her did not get her name.

We stayed weekend before last was a terrible experience - decided to give it another shot after issues were addressed hoping it would be a more pleasant experience this past weekend. Annette was very helpful and explained the issue with our first visit so we had a better understanding of the heating and air system. Annette thank you !
Sunday I asked for clean bath towels and hand cloths around 130pm before we headed out for the day Came back to the hotel around 6pm no towels no wash cloths / spoke with the gentleman at the front desk he logged it in the book stated someone will bring some up 9:00pm roll around no towels no wash cloths I had to call the front desk again to ask where the towels were the gentleman apologized and said he’d get someone on it Needless to say I finally got them at almost 9:30pm and this was after I put a request in a little after 1pm
The hotel location is nice breakfast staff friendly however the customer service is not what I’m use too in terms of Hilton Brand / fruit flies in the room I will suggest the housekeeping manager take a little bit more pride in inspecting the rooms before guest arrives and also when request are logged get them to the guest as quickly as possible and if there are delays it would help to keep the guest informed so they don’t go all day with dirty towels and wash cloths
Regards,

As a seasoned traveler and a frequent guest at various Embassy Suites locations, including Hampton and Alexandria, I have come to expect a certain level of comfort, cleanliness, and service that aligns with the brand's reputation. It is with regret that I must report my latest stay at this particular Embassy Suites location fell short of these expectations in several critical areas.
Upon arrival, the initial impression of the room was less than satisfactory. The cleanliness of the space did not meet the standard I have come to expect from Embassy Suites. The living room was very darn in spite of all lamps being on, which was difficult to do any work, the sink did not drain properly, and despite setting the thermostat for cooling, the system persisted in blowing heat, contributing to an uncomfortably warm environment throughout the night.
However, the most disruptive aspect of my stay was the noise emanating from the courtyard area. Despite the hotel's clear policy that loud parties should conclude by 10 PM, the loud conversations, yelling and laughter, persisted well past 11 PM.
It is with disappointment that I reflect on this experience, particularly given my otherwise positive encounters with Embassy Suites in other locations. The lack of attention to cleanliness, room functionality, and adherence to policies designed to ensure guest comfort has led me to the decision that I will not be returning to this specific location.
I am hopeful that this feedback will be received as constructive, prompting a reevaluation of the standards of service and accommodations at this Embassy Suites location.

This was the worst Embassy Suites I have ever stayed at and Embassy is my favorite. The first night the air conditioner couldn’t be moved down and the room was very hot. We told the lady at the front desk Monday morning and someone did come up and the room got nice and cool. Monday night the water starts pouring from the ceiling, we call down and someone came up and dump water and wipe up the floor. The water did not stop it was pouring from Monday to Friday when we left. We was credit for two nights, but this place needs to be shut down and repair. Not one of the so call engineer solved our problem. And the patio/porch is apart of the room and it’s not being clean spider webs, dust and my husband even had to knock down a wasps nest. Breakfast did not have a good variety as others.

This location falls very short of the Embassy Suites standard. There needs to be a serious overhaul of the operations here. Pros: -The front desk staff were very kind -The courtyard area is charming -The lobby shop has many options Cons: -The large shampoo bottle in the shower was empty. I discovered this mid-shower. Luckily, I had a small travel bottle. This is one of the challenges with the large bottles. -I asked at the lobby to have them refilled. When I came back several hours later, new bottles were sitting on the coffee table. I do not have a way to replace them in the shower holders because you need a special key. I asked at the front desk if they could have them replaced. -When I came back the next time, the hand soap was in the shower and the body wash was next to the sink. Again, I did not have the magic key to move them. At this point, I think I was being pranked? -There was a giant toenail on the floor. Not mine! -The AC DID NOT WORK. I asked about having it fixed twice. It was set to 60 and never got below 71. -Overall musty smell. -There were food trays that sat in the hallway for the whole time I was there (2 nights) even though I alerted the front desk. -A woman overheard me discussing with the front desk and approached me in the parking lot to ask if I also had a bad stay. She said her first room had roaches and mouse droppings (no surprise since they leave trays for days on end) and the second room had water damage. Her AC also didn’t work. She was looking for an alternative hotel. -I did not receive my folio until the day after I checked out.

*This hotel is a dump!!* DON’T STAY HERE!!! We stayed here & several Embassy Suites years ago and never had this experience. From the minute we walked into the hotel you could smell mildewed carpets. There was yellow caution tape throughout the restaurant/bar area and elevators. Clear damage throughout the lobby, hallways, and rooms. We tried to find another hotel, but everything was booked. $280/night and the A/C doesn’t even work. Walked into 75° and as the night went on it kept climbing.
Called the from desk and they sent a tech, who said the air is working just bad room circulation and offered a box fan. How do you sleep with a box fan?? (What are we in a college dorm?)
Went down to try and calm down and have a happy hour drink, only to be told they now have a limited 5 drink juice menu, bud light, and house wine.
Thank God we’re only here for the night.
Advised the front desk and all they could say is they’ll pass it along to the manager at 7am. (Once we’re gone)
TERRIBLE!!!!!!

We had a king room with a pull out sofa. The king bed and room was nice, as was the living room area, but the bathroom is tiny. You have to straddle the toilet to close the door! There was also a musty smell in the room and the AC didn’t cool very well. We slept without covers because of it. It did require multiple requests to get pillows for the pull out bed to be brought up as well as extra towels. The lobby was clean and the pool area was decent but small. Breakfast was mediocre. Not many choices and the only thing made fresh was at the omelette station. The breakfast potatoes were bland, and the frozen french toast sticks were not very warm, even though they were in a covered server. The fresh fruit selection was limited as well. Overall our stay wasn’t terrible but we did eat breakfast at IHOP our second morning because of how disappointed we were in it the first morning. Lastly, two of the elevators were broken so getting to and from your room took a bit of waiting.

This past weekend we stayed at this hotel and I would stay here again.
We arrived for a very late check in (approx 12am). The front doors were locked for safety reasons ( I assume). The desk clerk buzzed us in and had us checked in in under 5 minutes. The front entrance and the lobby were super clean!
Our room, 630, upon entering was very clean and large. Loved having the seating area and the bedroom! The bed was a little too stiff for my preference so I did not sleep great. I love my soft comfy bed at home - others might love this bed.
The bathroom was a little small and had a mildew smell. There were a few places in the shower that require some bleach as there is black mold. Just needs a deeper cleaning.
We did experience a few issues this weekend though. Everything was handled by the front desk manager professionally and it was truly appreciated. While heading to the bed from the couch I stepped on a piece of glass the sliced open the bottom of my foot. I hobbled to the bed and removed the shard. Since my hubby was out picking up food I text him a photo of the glass and my bleeding foot to show to the front desk when he returned. The manager wanted to do an incident report - however, all I truly wanted was for them to come sweep the entire floor to ensure there was not any lingering glass. The manager had the on staff housekeeper come and vacuum the room at 9pm (just after the entire incident). Even the housekeeper asked if I was ok. Genuinely these 2 people seemed to care! The manager also assigned our room to have a thorough cleaning the next morning.
The only other issue I has was there was an additional blanket/pillow in a bag in the closet. When I pulled the blanket out to use on the couch it was dirty. Clearly had been used previously. Of course I have no idea if a guest used it and put it back in the bag or if housekeeping did this. But it was gross. A simple call to the front and they brought me a new blanket in 10 minutes.
OVERALL, I would recommend this hotel. The entire staff that I encountered from the moment I arrive until checking out at 3:30 am were very nice. Everyone greeted us and I loved that. I do believe that housekeeping does need to do a more thorough job of cleaning the rooms from the corners in the showers to really sweeping the entire floor in the sitting area.
