We loved this place which is basically a lush tropical garden with some cottages inside. Even if they are close together you still feel quite secluded because of all the trees and plants. Everything inside was beautifully decorated. We stayed in two different rooms, the villa and a bungalow room, and were happy with both. A nice detail with the...

The owner and everybody working there is very friendly and helpful. Although the room did not have air-con, the fan did the job. It is not fancy hotel, but still very comfortable and nice. I would recommend this hotel. Hotel has nice lounge are, where you can just relax and read books and etc. There are also 3 dogs, they...

With this lovely place, you either love it or hate it. Yes there were roosters going at it since 3am, but they do it everywhere in PH. Yes there were dogs barking, but that happens everywhere in PH. Yes, the bed was a bit hard for my liking, but it's better for my back anyway and every mattress in the...

In Alumbung you get what the name states - tropical living. The cottages are cute and..tropical. No aircon but a fan does its work. The rooms/cottages are cleaned daily and never you get a feeling that they are unkept. The hosts Sylvie and Roberto are friendly and full of advise on where to go, what to do and arrange masseuses...

We stayed here for 2 weeks, Thinking at first it maybe too long, however, when the time came for us to move we wished we had stayed longer! Really chilled out place, just a tricycle ride into Alona if you want a bit more night life, 100 peso, or 20 minute walk. We rented a villa, which was really fab,...

Hello Sazzlemich, Glad you enjoyed our little piece of paradise and sorry to hear you did not like us.... We just wanted to say that sometimes the attitude we get from people is what we unfortunately give back, we are only humans. When my husband Roberto, checks in our guests they often think he is one of the staff when...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Alumbung and had a wonderful time there. Can recommend this place to everyone who goes to Bohol. You can have a nice breakfast here and go to Linaw Beach Resort for dinner and lunch.

I'm a traveller who's so attracted to nipa huts and nature that's why when i saw Alumbung's photos from the internet, i immediately booked. I was welcomed by Roberto, one of the owners, who is friendly and accommodating. I was actually expecting to get the nipa hut room, but it was already taken. BUT i could not complain to the...

My boyfriend and I booked to stay 5 nights here into Early December 2016. When we arrived, we were really touched by the welcome sign - personally updated for each new guest, along with a board of information about the weather, tides and sunset/sunrise times - all lovely touches and felt welcoming. This warm welcome was abruptly interrupted when we...

Dear Cherie and Matt, If we understand it well, in a way, if we would not have asked you to pay on arrival it would have been fine….. so it’s all about the payment…. Also the payment of what you consumed in the mini bar which is there for your convienience. As you mentioned you booked in Hostelworld. I recommend...

We stayed in the Alungbung Villa for a week and really enjoyed our stay. It is a quiet and relaxing place with wth lots of personal details. Sylvie and Roberto are lovely hosts and very helpful. They serve a nice breakfast and the little pool is perfect for a morning dip. We apriciated the location, away from the Aluna Beach.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Alumbungs is a small tropical garden approximately 25 minutes away from Tagbilaran and three minutes ride from the renowned Alona Beach. The special shape of the villa and cottage roofs is derived from the typical Balinese Lumbung structure where the upper part of each hut served as a rice barn and the bottom part as a meeting place for the family. This is the perfect place for family vacations, honeymooners or for people that just want to relax. ... more   less
