It was my first holiday in Mallorca and I must say I did choose the right destination. Port de Pollensa is a fantastic place for those who are interested mainly in chilling out and spending their holiday's time peacefully, sunbathing, sipping their favourite drink, swimming or taking a boat trip or simply walking alongside the beautiful shore (pine walk is...

Myself and a dozen other blokes spent a few days away from the wife cycling around the tramantura mountains. Rented great bikes from several different shops with out a hitch. Porto Polensa is a top base to cycle Mallorca. Already booked for this year.

Situated at the end of the pine walk, well away from the crowds, an ideal spot for a bit of quiet relaxation. A beautifully run hotel with well run facilities and excellent staff. I am wheelchair dependent and this location is on the flat so I was very happy with my stay there.

The terrace bar is still one of the most beautiful places to view the bay. The terrace restaurant is a lovely...

Brilliant stay. Great sea view room and balcony, very clean and comfortable. Staff really helpful. Huge breakfast selection and evening meals. Hotel in a lovely location. Loved walking along the pine walk and sitting on the terrace looking across the bay. Everything was much better than we were expecting. We will return to the I'lla D'Or !

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Illa d’Or, founded in 1929, is a hotel which still maintains the authentic classical style from yonder. Situated in placid Puerto Pollença, where one can experience the sensation of beauty which has served as inspiration to a multitude of yesterday’s and todays’s artists and writers. At the Illa D’Or, the sky and the sea are a gentle carress, dusk is a symphony of colours and night, whilst on the terrace and contemplating the moon reflection in the sea, one realises that it is one of the most beautiful areas, not only in Mallorca, but possibly, in the world. ... more   less
