The owner was great; trimmed trees so we could get in. Lovely grassy area out the back. Neat setup for meals by reception area. Less trees would be ideal for large vehicles. Nice setting near the beach. Popular and friendly.

We stayed 2 nights here great location ,expecially when doing ninty mile beach tour. Our cabin was very snall didnt expect it to be that small but not very clean at all the tv remote was discusting and to put a plastic bag over it. We returned again this year for 10 nights in a tent up the top under the pines. We had a couple of quad bikes and a dog and children and didn't want to leave! Coming home today is so depressing. We loved this camp ground, the managers are very relaxed and accommodating and the continued planting they've done is lovely....

Stayed here for two nights at a non-powered site at the top of the hill. The actual tent area was not too bad, but the campsite was dirty. The kitchen was small to cater for everyone and looked like it was hardly cleaned. The ladies toilet was ok, but the 2nd shower (out of 3) cannot be locked - needs...

We found this camping ground was not friendly or considerate. We turned up with a boat (as we were using it in other locations in northland) - and there was no where to park it. Somehow we were expected to fit it onto our tent site along with our tent and car. And campers on either side were not considerate...

Booked in without a problem, we had a huge camper and it accommodated for all our needs. Nice modern layout of amenities, funky hang out spot, only 5 min walk to the beach. Friendly staff, and hey the Far North is the best anyway so we will definitely be back!

The site layout was really good, facilities were excellent and even in the early summer the camp was fairly busy. Great value for money and very nice owners/management. We would love to go back to this lovely location and spend longer there.

Ahipara was the best (out of 12) campgrounds we've visited on our tour. You can just choose your site, they are rather big with hedges and bushes for privacy. Facilities were clean and in good condition, kitchen/lounge nicely decorated for a cozy atmosphere.

(Also YHA) stayed in an ensuite private room which had been recently renovated. Units are nicely spread out in well-cared for grounds. Staff were friendly, there is a well stocked shop & the communal lounge / dinning area is modern and comfy. Great place!

An attractive site with great facilities. It's very friendly and busy, which demonstrates that word has got around, with most other sites pretty quiet as we travelled around. Toilets and showers were immaculate and, although we didn't use them, the other social areas were very popular. Would definitely recommend.

Thank busHelen
