The Bronte is the perfect getaway retreat, whether you're wanting a romantic weekend or a mid-week break. Two hours from Sydney, 10 minutes from Maitland and 40 mins from Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, Polkobin wine country. The Bronte was built in 1822 for the honourable Mr Caleb Soul of Soul Paterson Pharmacy fame and named after Admiral Nelson, the Earl of Bronte. In 2014, The Bronte was refurbished to its current luxury standard with an electric fusion of Victorian and Asian antiques. The hotel is ideal for visitors to discover everything that historic Morpeth, Maitland and the Hunter Valley have to offer.

Great place, welcoming, homey feel, clean, customer service was exceptional.
We came for a family wedding and needed a place to stay. Everything was easy from booking the room to getting into the property and the real good thing was the replies to your questions and messages, nothing was too hard.
Definitely staying again and would highly recommend The Bronte

Aware that some old buildings are a bit dark, we were delighted upon checking in to find our room at the rear of the property was spacious and light, and the room had everything one might need plus more. Bottled water each day, snacks, cotton robes, wine glasses, free wifi. The bed was comfortable and bathroom, although a bit small had a generous shower with quality toiletries.
The front verandah, where you could relax during the day, was also where the complimentary breakfast was offered. Cooked fresh to order, it was vastly different to most hotel offerings where the offerings are dried out.
Two delightful young women cooked and served the breakfasts, and also did the cleaning and setup of all the rooms. They were a great team and it was apparent they enjoyed their jobs.
The hotel was spotless, and we could not find any negatives other than a bit of noise with guests going in and out, but it was very quiet at night which we were delighted to find.
A coffee machine, tea making facilities and biscuits were available near the verandah for guests to use at any time.
Great location in the heart of the town.

So I'll start with Cindy,
Nothing was a bother...Cindy & I had few chats regarding late night check in, car drop off & some snacks for our arrival. She was accommodating, understanding & helpful.
When we arrived our Loft (#8) was so beautiful... apart from the gorgeous decor & room fittings, there was confetti & balloons. On our table was a wedding card. Our snacks that where in the fridge has been beautifully presented on a platter & was waiting for us in fridge along with our breakfast selection. "Divine" There was also a Cooler on the table with a bottle of cc & a can of Tequila (margarita). 😁 Clever, thoughtful Cindy had picked up on our drink preferences in one of our chats ❤️ THAT IS HOSPITALITY AT ITS FINEST..
What an incredible day!!
OMG, there's going to be some beautiful photos & the memories made will last forever!!
Thank you so much for taking the end of our already perfect day to the next level.
Didn't have time to take photos 🤣
See you for our anniversary 🤗
5 stars is not enough

We escaped to Morpeth for a weekend family getaway, and stayed in one of the new thoughtfully designed self catering apartments behind the Bronte. The beds were very soft with crisp linen, and the kitchen had a good fridge, hob and everything our little family needed to hide away for a couple of days. Discovering Morpeth was relaxing - it is very sweet, with a good range of shops and cafes to keep us well fed and happy. The accomodation was situated in the heart of town, so my wife and I were able to confidently leave the kids for and hour in the accomodation watching a movie on the smart tv, and go for a coffee and a catch up. In the evening we all had a good pub meal and later a selection of cheese from the delicatessen and wine from the friendly bottle shop witch had a good selection of Hunter Valley Wines.

After a slight glitch at check-in, I should have read the entire text we managed to find our room. This is largely a self service accommodation, only other place like this that we've found is in Sea Lake in Victoria.
The bed was comfortable and we had a balcony room at the front of the premises. Traffic noise stops at a very reasonable hour and the bed was extremely comfortable. Continental breakfast was included and nice to eat on the balcony.
We'd definitely stay here again if visiting Morpeth.

A truly, lovely, old-worldly B&B style hotel. Like stepping back in time. Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Morpeth. We stayed in a one bedroom loft apartment at the rear of the premises, and it was extremely comfortable. Delicious continental breakfast is included and the owner was very generous with her time and very helpful. Old fashioned service and style, with the added attraction of being footsteps from amazing coffee, bakeries, antiques and a quaint pub. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again

Great location. Our room was spacious, sumptuously decorated and very inviting. Bedding was very clean and comfortable. A lovely boutique historical hotel. Loved the
dark wood, high ceilings, french doors to the balcony and its Victorian-Oriental decoration and art. Loved the shower and generous bathroom size too. Guest information was clear, thoughtful and thorough. The continental breakfast was very enjoyable.

Beautifully situated in the heart of Morpeth, this accommodation offers comfort, privacy and a pleasant night’s sleep. We had a lovely couple of days in a well appointed room with a nice ensuite. The continental breakfast was first rate and the lady staff member was really friendly and helpful. We had an opportunity to look at all the rooms on offer and they all looked as comfortable as the one we had booked.

We stayed in one of the loft apartments at the rear of the hotel so we could avoid traffic noise in the Main Street. The apartment was spacious and quiet. On site parking was a tight fit. There was a small kitchen with cooking implements provided. Hotel had hot breakfast option available. TV was first rate with all of the common apps eg netflix, Apple, YouTube available. Unit was clean with a nice ensuite. Morpeth nice village - Boydell’s winery restaurant was a standout

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bronte. It is a gorgeous boutique hotel conveniently located on the main street.
Pluses would definitely be the warm, friendly service, convenient location, and comfortable room and bed.
Only disappointment was that we'd have loved to have had breakfast in house, on the balcony. But it was only available until 8am, which for us, being on holiday, was too early. Offering it till 9am would have been ideal.
That said, it gave us an opportunity to enjoy one of the lovely cafes nearby.
