The Bronte is the perfect getaway retreat, whether you're wanting a romantic weekend or a mid-week break. Two hours from Sydney, 10 minutes from Maitland and 40 mins from Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, Polkobin wine country. The Bronte was built in 1822 for the honourable Mr Caleb Soul of Soul Paterson Pharmacy fame and named after Admiral Nelson, the Earl of Bronte. The Bronte was purchased by the current owners in 2014 and completely refurbished to its current luxury standard with an electric fusion of Victorian and Asian antiques.. The hotel is ideal for visitors to discover everything that historic Morpeth, Maitland and the Hunter Valley have to offer.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely stay in historical small accomodation. Easy check in, clean room, very comfortable bed and aircon worked well. The breakfast was great and the lady who staffs the breakfast was exceptional. Thanks for the nice stay

We had a lovely stay at the Bronte whilst attending a wedding nearby. The room had a comfy bed, great air conditioning and a delicious breakfast. There was a flight of stairs to navigate but that was part of the historic nature of the building. Highly recommended.

The architecture and originality of the hotel is exceptional and provides a unique atmosphere which reminds me of Europe. A comfortable experience with unique elements that cannot be achieved by modern accommodation but have modern amenities to satisfy anyone.

We loved the decor, warmth and charm of this character filled boutique hotel. The location was perfect with all the amenities you need. We particularly liked the bathrooms ( double shower, big bath!) and comfy bed, easy access, responsive hosts, and little touches - free port and choc cues in the comfy lounge. Breakfast was good ( better brand of muesli would make it perfect!)

We enjoyed our stay and found the accommodation very comfortable, brilliant AC and location too. It’s right smack bang in the middle of the village with easy access to all the shops and cafes. Staff were super helpful and parking easy out the back.

What a beautiful hidden gem in the Main Street of Morpeth. The hotel had such a wonderful and quaint charm to it. Had the pleasure of dealing with Kristie who was ever so pleasant and helpful throughout the whole booking. Breakfast was so fresh and so good, thoroughly enjoy it and plenty of it. The 2 lovely ladies were so attentive and nothing a problem for them. We loved our room with a spacious veranda and ever so clean and just adorable. We can highly recommend this hotel. We just loved our stay.

Beautifully situated in the heart of Morpeth, this accommodation offers comfort, privacy and a pleasant night’s sleep. We had a lovely couple of days in a well appointed room with a nice ensuite. The continental breakfast was first rate and the lady staff member was really friendly and helpful. We had an opportunity to look at all the rooms on offer and they all looked as comfortable as the one we had booked.

Wonderful hosts and breakfast was fresh Room was gorgeous. Everything you need - we were in a loft and felt very spoilt with all amenities supplied and cooking facility if needed. Well Maintained and really clean. Nice and central in location, we will be back at some point soon. Cheers Kristy and Tracey
