Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at this property during the school holidays and it was extremely busy. We opted for a pool access room which is located at the adults only pool, this was perfect. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both great with a variety of food on offer for both adults and children. Definitely a resort for young families offering lots of child activities and a massive family pool (in addition to the adults only pool). We enjoyed our stay.

Disappointing experience due to poor customer service and in room dining food quality on the Friday for lunch. My wife & I had booked the Rydges for the weekend as I had arranged a Hot air balloon experience for my wife's birthday (that was fantastic highly recommend) to be disappointed by the customer service. Friday we arrived afternoon, booked in and I ordered fish & chips for lunch $23 + $6 tray service (menu states that tray service is $4) to receive a meal that only the fish was edible. Cold chips & brown lettuce. The fish was nice. I did have in room dining on the Saturday night & the steak was great. Saturday. My wife and I plus another guest were sitting & swimming pool side as we booked a king room with the adult pool swim out when at 7:26 pm we were told pools closed you needed to get out. I said I thought the pool was open till 8:00pm (that's what the sign stated) again told pools closed get out. As this was a birthday present for my wife it wasn't the best experience. Some other observations. Exit sign & light sensor hanging out of the roof in hallway. Very poorly cleaned glass pool fencing. To their credit Rydges have taken my feedback an emailed me in regards tho the above issues.

I have been to the Hunter Valley so many times, but never heard about (or stayed at) Rydges, but i wish we HAD bc it was amazing! From the biggest pool we have ever swam in a hotel, to its own waterpark, 2 movie screenings, jumping castle, video arcade, ping pong, beach vball, bball, golf and train rides. The entertainment was endless!!! We will be back!

The hotel room was not clean to a proper standard: - the shower still had the previous occupants hair all in it - the bathroom bench and soap pump had make up on it - the pillows smelt very strongly off unpleasant body odour - the towels were covered in stains

Great hotel for families with kids. We took our son, loads to do such as a small water park setup near the pool with slides. The pool wasn't too deep either for swimming. There were jumping castles with large slides, train rides, resort tours, golfing, and many more activities for all.

Pillows too soft and bed was uncomfortable, they didn’t refresh our room one day so I had to call for fresh towels Would be good to have a table to eat lunch or breakfast at instead of a desk Shower was very weak but otherwise my child enjoyed the pool and slides. People do reserve deck chairs so we didn’t get opportunity to get shade Which was unfortunate having cancer I need to keep out of the sun

Hi valued guest, Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the soft pillows, uncomfortable bed, and missed room refreshment. Your feedback regarding the need for a table for meals and the weak shower pressure has been noted, and we will review these areas for improvement. We're glad to hear that your child enjoyed the pool and slides. Reserving sun chairs in the pool area is not permitted under any circumstance and we will review our processes around this to be more strict moving forward. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Best regards, Jacob.

Me and my family had a great time here, but the hotel rooms can be upgraded. The pillow sheets had an awful smell almost like mold and was not impressed. The pools were excellent which was great for familys and the gym was great. The food and buffet was really nice but in conclusion please review room linen.
