We have stayed at Lovedale Cottages on two occasions the most recent being 15th & 16th January 2020.

Lovedale cottages are set against bush land on a large open section. The cottages are spaced far enough apart so that you aren't disturbed by your neighbours.

There is a golf course and swimming pool for guests to use.

The cottages ooze rustic charm and are large and comfortable. Two couples stayed in our cottage over two days and we each had our own modern en-suite attached to large bedrooms with comfortable beds.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you need to cook your own meals and each cottage comes with eggs, bacon and fresh bread supplied. There is also a BBQ available in each cottage.

Our cottage had a large back deck area where you can sit and relax and enjoy the tranquillity.

The owners Paul & Rosie are great hosts and we found them extremely easy to deal with. The booking process and check in was seamless.

We absolutely loved it here and in my opinion it is the one of the best accommodation options in the Hunter Valley.

We stayed two nights together with two other couples in the 3-bedroom cottage. One bedroom has ensuite spa-bath/shower. The other two bedrooms share the other bathroom also with shower and spa. The cabin is very well appointed and clean. There is a fully functional kitchen with stove (no oven) microwave, bread toaster(s) pots and pans and a nice BBQ outside for all sorts of culinary activities. No washing up as there is a nice dishwasher.
A wood stove (with fan) raises the temperature quickly on cold mornings. For hot weather there is an arco unit in the wal.
The bedrooms are not big but big enough to move around and the beds are comfortable - with electric blanket for cold nights.
The cabin is right in the middle of a 9 holes golf course which we would call "rustic and full of obstacles". It makes for a challenging and fun round of golf. And don't forget the heated pool and tennis court. Lots of opportunities for lots of activities.
Mobile phone coverage is marginal and so is the WiFi signal strength. So it is an excellent place to forget the mobile or other electronic toys and relax.
The location is right in the middle of wineries and restaurants.

This is the second time staying at Lovedale Cottages and this time we brought some friends with us. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage and this was perfect for two couples as each bedroom has an ensuite attached to it.

I can’t stress enough how much I love staying here. The cottages are rustic, the views of the surrounds are incredible and it is just such a relaxing and peaceful place to unwind for a few nights. The cottages are quite far away from each other so it’s extremely private. I have stayed at a few different places in the Hunter and this is by far my favourite.

Paul and Rosie are really generous with the breakfast they offer. We received an ample amount of eggs, bacon, bread, juice and milk and there is also cereal available. We enjoyed seeing the chickens and rooster outside our cottage, playing tennis and golf and just walking around the property.

After three nights I wish I could have stayed longer but we had such an amazing time. We can’t wait to return. Thanks so much for having us.

Stayed with some friends and had fun with the cottage dog and chooks that came by to say hello. Quiet area in the middle of the winery areas. Everything was supplied regarding linen and towels including fresh eggs in the fridge on arrival.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous 3 nights in the 1 bed cottage at Lovedale Cottages and couldn’t have been happier. The rustic cabin feels welcoming and real- the illuminated colour from the stained glass windows, timber floor boards, 4 poster bed and deck looking out at the Australian bushland and starlit sky suited our sensibilities far beyond the air locked modern accomodations more common to the Hunter. This place offers a peaceful connection to the land (a fly swatted probably wouldn’t go astray if spending a great deal of time on the deck as we did).

Rosie and Paul are wonderful. They invited us into their home, were there whenever we needed and gifted us a bottle of vino for my husband’s Birthday. The cottage also comes with eggs, bread, bacon and juice so there’s no need to hurry out of bed or bring any shopping... unless you choose to have most of your meals in the cabin as we did... pick up
something from Cessnock on the way through and you won’t need to leave again!

Although we mostly avoided the vineyards due to the early days of Covid - we were able to walk through the grapes vines and olive groves from our cottage, grab a bottle of vino and olive oil from the cellar door whilst relishing the space and tranquility that the property offers.

Completely isolated from the world and the other guests (we only had glimpses of other people on 2 occasions) we felt like we’d stepped into our own private adult playground of putt putt golf, tennis and heated indoor swimming pool. Although the golf is a little run down as mentioned in another review, you have to remember that this is the bush (!) and the cracks and sun faded astro-grass all add to the fun of the experience and the challenge of the putt putt competition. We didn’t even get time to enjoy a spa bath or watch any of the awesome old school DVD’s (there’s also Foxtel).

We absolutely loved our time here, we laughed the whole time and will definitely be back to enjoy a dusk vino on the deck with Rosie and Paul, the bird song and old school rustic tranquility of Lovedale Cottages.

We stayed in Number 2 cabin which was very rustic but we loved it. The large outdoor back veranda gave us space to enjoy an afternoon drink and also breakfasts. The continental breakfast supplied consists of bacon fresh eggs cereal juice bread all included.
Loved the chooks visiting (even the rooster crowing) Also had The dog stay for the afternoon

My boyfriend and I stayed 4 nights in a one bedroom cottage. It was the most perfect place for a relaxing, romantic weekend in the Hunter Valley. The cottages are clean, super cozy and have everything you need. The fridge and cupboard were stocked full of eggs, bacon, bread, juice, tea and coffee. The bed was also one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in!!! We had lots of fun playing golf, tennis, putt putt and going for walks around the property, through the vineyards and Olive trees. We couldn’t recommend Lovedale Cottages more!

Well, what a great place to stay for golfers. On arrival the fridges to each cabin were well stocked with Bacon, Eggs, Bread. Milk etc etc. The bedrooms were clean as was the linen. Lovedale cottages are not your 5 star stuff but are rustic and very comfortable and ideal for a group of golfers such as ours. We had our evening meals in the Barn and breakfast in each hut.
Managed a game of tennis but used the golf courses close by. Unfortunately Covid 19 plus rain meant we had to leave early however all the guys loved the place.

We stayed in a one bedroom cottage over the Christmas weekend. The cottage was beautifully decorated with a rustic touch. The location is perfect with just a few minutes to Pokolbin and Cessnock and yet very quiet. The fridge was stocked with all the breakfast essentials. The cabins are spaced apart from each other providing adequate privacy from other guests. We would love to return for another stay and hopefully meet Paul, Rosie and Aussie :)

Had a great stay in cabin 7 celebrating the wife’s birthday. This is the newest of the cabins overlooking your own golf green with a lovely view down to the creek from the rear veranda.
A perfect location which is close to many wineries and restaurants and only a short distance to town, or is a great little private getaway if that’s what you want with your own full kitchen and generous hamper on arrival.
Can’t wait to go back again.
