I stayed here on my own for one night whilst working in the area. I have a number of concerns. Firstly I was informed on arrival that breakfast would be between 8 and 9 am, which seems very late mid-week when it is likely that anyone staying will be working. When I said I needed to leave at 7.50 I...

Stayed with my wife in the townhouse. Very cool, great decor and really clean throughout. Parking a lottery. Breakfast and dinner at the pub was great and fun! Facilities really good. All very relaxing

We have stayed here many times before. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The pub / B & B is very characterful .The staff are all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Zana in particular is so welcoming and friendly, even remembering my fussy breakfast order from when we have stayed before in the summer. We will definitely stay at the Scholar...

Old pub in an old street in Penryn. Good selection of Cornish real ale. Full of old world charm. Room was basic, but warm clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. Would have no problem staying again

very quirky hotel, very old with only a few rooms available. We arrived late in the arvo, but there is really no parking so had to scour the streets for a while. The pub served us a nice snack meal and our rooms were interesting! huge, clean and very comfortable, but very old which is why we stayed! took us...

One of the only places I could find to stay in Falmouth. Great room. Superb food and real ale in the cosy bar. Really friendly staff and owners and the locals were friendly too. Must come back for a longer break rather than a one night stay for work.

We stayed at The Thirsty Scholar for three night B&B. Affordable room rates for a basic but clean and comfortable room. Spotless bed linen, plenty of fresh towels, lovely hot shower and tea making facilities provide all you need for a comfortable stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautifully cooked full English breakfast. Adorable dog named Arthur who will woo...

great location and very comfortable room with attention to detail. Food really imaginative and very tasty. Service was spot on and very friendly. Not sure about parking because we travelled by rail which is a short easy walk away

The room I stayed in was very nice, clean and well-appointed. It was a bit noisy, being directly over the bar area, but as it was a Sunday night this wasn't a problem. The bed was comfortable, with lovely white bed linen.

Spent seven days at Thirsty Scholar as a central base to explore Cornwell. Beds were excellent, and the food was both plentiful and delicious. After a short time it felt like we were staying with friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them; David, the owner, gave us a suggested itinerary so we could find some of Cornwell's ‘hidden gems’....
