This is an amazing backpackers and I recommend anyone to stay here. Sugarloaf is located by the river and close to the beach, giving you the possibility to enjoy the view from one of the hammocks, or watch the sunset while playing the drums by the outdoors fire place. They also have a bar and there are many activities to...

Sugarloaf backpackers is a decent place to stay for a few nights on the wild coast . It offers everything you would need. The food is great. Located right near the beach. We had a great time and the staff make sure everything runs smoothly

We stayed in a safari tent which is set in a nice private space just below the common lounge area. Apparently, the Coffee Bay backpacking hostels rotate hosting 'party night' and it was Sugarloaf's turn. We were not warned by the manager of what to expect. The music blasted at our tent 10 meters away until 1 AM. A passed...

We do regret that you had that experience. We don't swap or even have party night here at Sugarloaf we are very relaxed. If other guests are making noise you should have mentioned your discomfort to our staff or security, we would have sorted it out. We do sincerely hope that your 'bad' experience does not hinder you from visiting...

Much more chilled than the popular party hostels down the road but still busy at the bar in the evening. The staff were always willing to help especially Devin (legend) and Pietro the pool shark barmen. They even took us for a surf - great food and positive vibes!

Florencia, It was really great having you and your hubby over for a few days, I regret that I (Kingsley) never got the chance to say goodbye to you, it was nice to spend some time with you. Hope your travels were awesome :)

Unfortunately I only stayed 1 night because of my tight schedule. Sugarloaf is nicely situated. You overlook the beautiful beach. It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach. From the main road you can start your hike along the beautiful wild coast all the way to Hole in Wall. It's only 9km but it's goes up and down along...

Hi Joelle, thank you for your review, it is much appreciated, it is a pity that you only got to spend one night with us, hopefully you make it back to Sugaloaf in the future for more than just a day so you can experience a bit more of what Coffee Bay has to offer.

after a friendly welcome (from the staff and the adorable dogs) we got settled into our rather spacious dorm. it was clean and was perfect for the chilled rustic getaway that we all needed. Sugar loaf is situated really close to everything so you can easily go out for dinner, explore the beaches, explore the vast rolling hills and take...

We were a little frantic about four young ladies driving in a polo vivo to Coffee Bay but the roads coming from Durban to Coffee Bay were really good, with only one stop and go, we had a smooth driving experience. As we walked into Sugarloaf we felt the very welcoming vibe and were greeted by the friendly staff who...
