my family and i got put into this hotel after our flight was delayed over night. whilst the room and service was perfectly fine, the miniture 'zoo' was so appauling that the whole experience was ruined. the hotel advertises the chance to see exotic animals, when in actual fact they hold distressed animals in disgusting conditions. they had little food...

Having spent 3 weeks in Tobago with a group of others on a field course to do with my uni studying the fish and reefs, our flight home was delayed overnight and we were shoved into this hotel. At first it seemed okay and check in wasn't too bad. We then went to our rooms to find 4 of us...

After a cancelled flight a group of us were put up here for the night, and here is what we found... Rooms for 4 people consisting of a double bed and a single bed. A pool littered with leaves and large palm leaves at the bottom. Poor service where dinner was said to be at 7pm, and wasn't served until...

After having stayed in Tobago for 3 weeks supporting animal and reef conservation I was forced into staying in this hotel due to a delayed flight (and it being our airline's choice). Walking around the hotel my group came across the 'zoo'. This 'zoo' is advertised by the hotel as an attraction, a way to see exotic animals... what it...

A large group of students, among other tourists, were placed in Rovanel's after our flight home had been delayed. We were first concerned with the room arrangements; being split into fours to share one double bed and a single. The dinner was also two hours later than we had been informed, the staff seemed not to know or care that...

Had to stay in Rovanel's for one night due to a delayed flight. Shortly after arrival, my group and I discovered the 'petting zoo' and were beyond disgusted by the condition the animals were kept in. There were rabbits left to live in their own waste and some of them were clearly dead in the cage. All cages were small,...

A group of 16 university students all studying Zoology and Biology were put in Rovanel's for a night when our plane got delayed 12 hours coming home. At first we thought the place was ok, but after walking around it we found cages upon cages of mistreated animals. There were two monkeys kept in about a 1m wide, 3m tall...

I have been in Tobago this month carrying out ecological surveys on particular reefs in the North of the island with a group of 23 other people. Part of my group's flight home was cancelled on Wednesday so we were put up in this hotel. The sleeping arrangements were not satisfactory. For a group of four people in a room,...

I spent five days with my family at Rovanel’s Resort in Tobago. We arrived about 8 a.m. and asked whether our bags could be kept until our check-in time. After a short wait we were told that we could take our bags to one of our rooms. Great! This meant that we were now free to go to the beaches....
