This was our fourth, and final(!), stay in The Scole Inn. 14 months ago we were still charmed by the building’s character and were prepared to overlook some of its foibles as the food and atmosphere were sufficient to satisfy us. This time we were prepared – fortunately! Prepared, in the form of a hot water bottle and extra layers...

My partner surprised me with a new year break at the Scole Inn. The staff were courteous and helpful. The historic building was very atmospheric and the Manager entertained us with building details and local legends. The room was beautiful and the en-suite well appointed and clean. The carved buffet was delicious and plentiful. The desserts were divine with my...

We stayed at The Scole Inn on New Year's Eve, check-in was efficient and friendly with the staff taking the time to introduce themselves and chat about the history and features of the building. We were shown to our room in the main building with a four poster bed tastefully decorated in period. In the evening we met friends for...

We both had an excellent time the food was great they even catered for my wife's needs as she is on warfarine and cannot eat any thing with vitamin K in it as it could literally kill her. The staff were very friendly and helpful and advised which dishes were safe for my wife. The music was great just the...

Stayed one night to break up a long journey, chose this place as it was dog friendly. The food in the bar and the breakfast was nice, lovely log fire, the staff helpful, however the room we had to move to as ours had no power to the sockets was very poor indeed, found a used tampon applicator and other...

Very disappointed, the food served up for a New Years Eve celebration was poor and very over priced. Staff were polite but had very little interest in the customers needs. I informed them before arriving I was Gluten and Diary intolerant and again on arrival. The buffet food wasn't labelled and there was very little choice. When they brought out...

Having chosen to spend a couple of days with friends over New Year, we were slightly disappointed with the check in experience, when firstly we had to wait despite a member of staff standing behind the reception area not actually doing anything. Having checked in, we were told the New Year's Eve party would start at 7.30pm, but all we...

I'll say from the offset that yes there are many ways this hotel could be improved...BUT, it has such a charm about it that I can forgive it easily. A beautiful old coaching Inn with more character than you can shake a stick at, yes it could do with a bit more tlc in many ways but I thoroughly enjoyed...

Had a lovely stay, shame it was so short, I had to work next day. I've stayed here a few times over the years and I will definitely return. Loads of history and a ghost. I prefer to stay in the converted stables, instead of the main building. Lovely cosy room. Reasonable priced. Dog friendly in bar and room, not...
