Really enjoyed our stay at Kinloch Lodge! The owners Toni and Jon were welcoming and accommodating despite not booking before we showed up and making sure we had a lunch for our hike the following day. The lodge itself is set on a beautiful lakeside at the base of snow capped peaks which look just as amazing from the front...

A trampers paradise. A great place to stay in NZ beside the lake to access the wonderful walking tracks, through shady beech forests. Accommodation caters for all with self catering and fine dining. The restaurant meals were first class. There is a jetty for a boat to pull into and fishing along the lakes edges with streams only walking distance...

This Lodge is 30-40mins drive past the township of Glenorchy and nothing else there, so it's very quiet and close to the lake. My husband and I arrived late in the afternoon and weren't aware of the restaurant on the premises but the meals smelt delicious. Our room was very small but clean and tidy. We shared the ammenities. The...

Thanks for the review Gabe. We have now put signs on the shower doors to help guests have the best temperature shower possible, sorry you had problems with this. Looking at your booking you did have a cheaper room rate than usual for the room you occupied, we don't usually charge guests for upgrades. Yes we have lots of midges,...

Very basic place with a fine restaurant. If your a hiker this is the place to be with TONS of hiking tracks all over the place. The lodge is for backpackers with only one room having a private bathroom... all rooms are very basic. The restaurant serves up good food and drinks. Hiking trails within waking distance, kayaking, etc. Amazing...

Thanks for the review Rob. We have a variety of room types here, 13 of them in the wilderness area share bathroom facilities, another 6 are in the original building from 1868 and have different facilities as well as a private lounge, so it really depends on you and your budget as to your Kinloch experience. Plenty to do in...

A great place to rest and unwind. Woke to birdsong in the morning and soaked in the hot tub at night under a starry sky. Just perfect. A tad overpriced for the accommodation, but think you're paying more for the location.

Thanks for the review! You'd be amazed at what it can cost to run a place like this in a location like this, but we like to think we keep things fairly priced and affordable. Glad you had a good night for the hot tub, it's what starry nights are made for :)

Peoples there are so nice and happy, we can join the local life easily. Everything is clean and easy to use. And the view there is good. All the toilets and shower rooms are shared, but I will still stay there next time.

My husband and I spent two nights at Kinlock lodge. Great place to unwind with easy access to the Routeburn track and other nearby walks and tramps. Our room with ensuit was comfy and warm. The YHA section was well equipped for cooking your own meals. Kinlock lodge restaurant also has a hearty selection of meals and wine , we...

Best part of the world, private, beautiful lake, mountains with snow on the tops, 15 wood pigeons in the willows by the lake, fishermen in the lake fishing first light, Australian photographers out to capture the beauty while my wife is enjoying the lovely sauna as the sun rises. It might be Paraqdise up the road bu this is heaven..

I haven't been to a more beautiful place in the world. It's an hour from Queenstown and even more magical for it. The photographs don't actually do it justice.
