Mix of very good and very bad. Overall typical Central America Hotel. Don’t be fooled by the pics. Room was tiny and bathroom was scary. Window in the shower didn’t close so I had an audience while bathing. Stray cats kept me awake howling at night. Also stray dogs wondering through the restaurant. Very misleading. I don’t know how anyone would give them the raving reviews they have. Obviously must have paid for them.
The pictures make the so called “resort” seem upscale and everything, but they must’ve been taken a while ago because the rooms are a bit run down. The location on the beach isn’t the greatest, partly because the beach itself isn’t very nice due to all the trash and dead fish on the sand. The employees are very friendly and helpful even though I had a problem with my reservation showing up simply because I reserved on travelocity. The food is average and so are the alcoholic beverages. Overall the best part of the stay were the pools because they are well maintained and the fact that the air conditioning works very well.
My boyfriend and I came here for a day to enjoy the beach. We paid $55 total for a day pass allowing us to use one of the Cabanas with hammocks, full access to amenities and $20 credit towards food and drink. The beach was beautiful and the service was great. Would highly recommend!
HI: We were visiting family in San Salvador and want to spend the day at the Costa del Sol as we had never been there before. We picked this place due to some of the reviews and I have to say most were spot on. We went on a Thursday so the hotel was maybe 15% occupied and only one other family was there for the day. We rented a table for the day which allowed us to use the pools and the beach. It is a good 90 minute drive from San Salvador but only about 30 minutes from the airport. Service and food were both good and the staff were super friendly. As one of the other reviews mentioned, there is nothing else around so if you are looking for nightlife and restaurants the options are slim but if you want to spend a day to relaxing at the beach, this would be a great option.
I spent two days. I came late at night and I was please that their service was just as good as during the day. We were hungry and I politely asked if they had any snacks. I was surprise that kitchen was available for anything. It was around 10pm fyi. Our meals were fresh and they set us up close to the beach front,a nice detail. Breakfast was great, service on point. The premises are going thru upgrade but they make sure you get the best room available. They had a bonfire with an open bar for a fee,a good idea. I would recomend this place to my friends visiting from abroad.
