Great people, good food, lovely rooms, 2 pools, clean friendly and safe environment. Would happily visit again. Location on south of island, but not a problem as hotel organises many trips and days out.

We had an amazing stay at La Madrugada! The hotel is located in the most southern part of the Island. It's the only hotel on this peaceful beach. You're really among the locals and won't come across the so-called 'beach boys'. The beach is well kept, but take into account the tides. Do you want to visit other beaches? The...

We stayed there for 3 nights during Christmas Holidays. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is ok, some fried eggs, fresh juice and local food. The hotel is situated in a very quiet ara, which measn, there are no other restaurants or shops in the area. And it is very far from Stone Town where a bank is...

This is tough one. This place can be an oasis or a trap. I would not recommend it, especially if you are coming from afar and want a true Zanzibar experience. It is remote and there really isn't any entertainment on a regular basis. It's far from any of the major things the island has to offer. Since we were...

My Ugandan friend, her 1 year old and myself went to celebrate her 30th birthday by the beach. We wanted something relaxing and I feel like this was the best place we could have stayed. Everything is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the local villagers farm from the ocean everyday, there is no hassling of any kind, the...

La Madrugada has everything what is about perfect chillout vacation! We spent there 4 days after climbing Kilimanjaro and it was the best place to have rest, swim and sun. The biggest adventage is location outside town where there is nobody to bother you on the beach. But if you want to go for a dinner outside or have a...

A place to unwind. We (2 families) were there for 4 nights. This place is quite cut-off from the hustle-bustle of Stone Town, which is what we wanted. It is a nice resort to stay in if you wish to spend time reading, swimming or strolling along the beach. The accomodation alone is fantastic. The reason that I gave 3...

If the objective of your holiday is to unwind, this is definitely the place for you! Far from loud clubs but still close enough to Stone town or Jambiani beach in case you feel like jumping into the crowd. The staff is extremely nice and the manager is super helpful. Food is great, fresh juices are great, the beach is...
