Mali Sunrise is amazing! We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every single day. The staff was very friendly and attentive, willing the help with everything. We stayed in one of the balinese bungalows - so beautiful and so much space. The bathroom was huge! The included breakfast had many options and the lunch menu is expansive - everything was delicious and it was so nice to eat a few steps from the beach. The pool is beautiful and it's great to have the option of beach and pool steps from each other. Definitely get a massage, right on the beach - so relaxing! It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops and the staff will help with any taxis needed. Thank you Mali Sunrise - we'll definitely be back!

We stayed at Mali sunrise for 4 nights and had a very mixed experience. First off I’d say this hotel is overpriced compared to the quality and the other hotels on sunrise beach. The positives are the location and most of the staff. One of the main reasons we booked Mali was how good the pool and surrounding area looked. Unfortunately the pictures are not reality. The pool is very murky and had about 2 feet of water missing meaning it was only waist deep. The pool area is not kept clean, we saw dirty cups and towels left for the entire day. The pool bar was empty and not in use which was a real shame even though we stayed in peak season. The room never felt that clean and the lack of windows / ventilation in the huge bathroom meant it was like a sauna. The bathroom smelt really bad, we understand that this can be common in Thailand but this was the worst we’ve experienced. The breakfast was also a little disappointing for us, we ended up going to other hotels for breakfast most mornings. I personally think this hotel has SOO much potential but really misses the mark.

We loved the Mali Sunrise resort! The grounds have beautiful trees and plants, the pool is very large with plenty of lounge chairs, and the beach has beautiful white sand , warm water and great snorkeling right off shore! We stayed in one of the deluxe bungalow rooms which we loved - big comfortable king bed, nice views and a huge bathroom with a great shower! The staff were very friendly and helpful-delicious breakfast and lunch choices! We liked walking nearby for dinner outside the hotel where locals serve up excellent fresh fish and vegetables! Koh Lipe is a great island to visit! And I recommend staying at the Mali Sunrise !

Overall the Mali is a great place to stay and we chose the place mostly due to its placement, surroundings, and the opportunity to house all 4 of us at the same room. Not many places at Koh Lipe can manage this unless you pay for 2 rooms. Below is a list of positive and not that positive things about the resort: Positive things: - Surroundings beautiful - Pictures online equal reality - Pool area is absolutely gorgeous - Close to beach - Friendly staff, good with the kids - Reception will help you with laundry, boat trips, taxis or restaurant bookings - Snorkel masks, and kayaking is free of charge. It can be borrowed directly at the beach bar - The morning breakfast is great. A lot to choose and taste good Negative/improvements thoughts: - We stayed at B6 (Bungalow6) and the A/C noise or pool pumps from the technical building is way too much. I would definitely NOT be staying in the same bungalow again. It is noisy when sitting at the terrace at night. A measurement using an IPhone stated an average of 56dB at night. We had a “pool-side” reservation and this is the farthest from the pool and the most noisiest. Not recommendable in relation to price. - WiFi connection and speed is very limited. A “high speed connection is available” is not true. This is a must when having a supreme resort. - The front of the resort is an abandoned area. If this is turned into a relaxing area which is fronting the road it could make the overall resort more unique. - Staff not great at English. We experienced mis-orders a couple of times due to misunderstanding of order. - We stayed at B6, nabour to the shed whereas the operational staff where housed, and the could look directly into our terasse and they where painting furnitures next to our bungalow. The paint job smelled and not present when paying that much for a private stay. - The restaurant food is great but when you get used to Thai-food - then the food at the restaurant needs more flavour. Especially the thai dishes. - The cleaning/pool staff needs to pace up when left overs or empty cans are laying at the pool area. A quick walk-around multiple times during the day will do the job.

We stayed in Ko lipe beach hotel for five nights as this one was booked so we only got to stay here one night. My first reaction was “wow” this is more us.There were about 10 thatched bungalows in a tropical garden / and hotel rooms, were we saw birds and butterflies. The room was clean, classy and huge. The pool was gorgeous with statue fountains. It had a small beach bar/restaurant.Greeted by the charming American owner who gave me a capachino whilst we waited for our room.on beautiful clean sunrise beach.Only wished we booked earlier so could have stayed a week .Maybe next time.

We loved, loved, loved our stay. In fact, we extended it by 3 days because we didn’t want to leave. While on Ko Lipe we checked out the other beaches and can honestly say we prefer Sunrise Beach even though there are a lot of longboats tied up there. We thought they added to the ambiance! Mali has plenty of comfortable cushioned lounge chairs in the sun and in the shade, and great bar and food service including a fantastic breakfast with something for everyone. Koi was terrific and she even brought out bug spray on those few days when there wasn’t enough of a breeze to keep the mosquitos away. We had a pool view bungalow. It was clean, with an enormous bath, a very comfortable bed - firm but cushy and lovely. The pool was a nice alternative to the beach, and it was always quiet. The resort is a short walk from all the restaurants and Walking Street. That is not the case for many of the more outlying places. We can’t thank Jason and the staff enough for a wonderful stay in Paradise.

We stayed at Mali Sunrise in Mid Nov, the resort is well maintained and has a nice big pool. But besides that there are few downsides of staying here- the beach has a lot of long tail boats parked, so if you want a better beach stay towards Irene resort. The breakfast has very limited options and it does get boring after a few days- they dont have buffet breakfast option. To conclude i feel the resort is overpriced for the options available on this island.

To begin at has no facilities to offer .. the rooms are good with outdoor shower that was nice .. the day we arrived there was some American dude who we found out he was the manager or owner who drinked the whole bar dry and trying to impress some Thai 18 yr old chick ,whilst his American mate was getting into some Thai hookers pants that was staying there . Good entertainment I suppose . Reception staff are so rude , true reflection of management 🤷‍♂️

A Beautiful smaller scaled resort. The grounds were immaculate and the villa was very nice. Biggest bathroom I ever saw! The location was great- quieter than others and easy to get to town. The pick up at the ferry was well organized and check in was easy. The only issue we had was the staff at the restaurant was missing the usual Thai warmth you get every where. They seemed unhappy and it showed. Otherwise Fantastic

Gorgeous! Let’s break it down: Room - we stayed in the deluxe Balinese hut and loved it. Didn’t have the outdoor shower like the Pattaya Mali but huge and clean. If I’m being super picky the shower could do with a bit more power but it is a small hotel on a small island so it’s fine! Comfy beds and regular fresh towels provided. Pool - we usually don’t use the pool as we are beach bums but it was THE perfect temperature. Very refreshing and cooling in the hot sun, with lovely foliage around giving a tropical vibe. Beach - stunning Lipe beach. As with most beaches on Lipe you do get the long tail boats parked out the front, but definitely more quiet than Pattaya side. Tide goes right out and exposes a lot of coral so beware if exploring. Loved the complimentary paddle boards and snorkels! Food - really good. Good choice for breakfast and ate most lunches here. Recommend the Massaman curry! Overall a beautiful tropical paradise. We would recommend and want to stay at the other Mali too! One thing: bring mozzie repellant.. the island seemed to be teeming with them!
