This hotel is made up of a group of 'huts' or wooden bungalows perched on a hillside by Sunset Beach on Lipe Island. This side of the island is quite, which is nice. It is about a 15 min walk from Pattaya Beach and the main 'walking street' of shops and restaurants. The owners will give you a free 'taxi' ride on the side car of their motorbike. I would recommend that you take a torch as the walk back to this hotel is very dark at night as there are few street lamps.

The rooms: We stayed in a deluxe sea view bungalow. Although the bungalows are new and clean, I would not describe them as 'deluxe'. It was snug inside, with a double bed, one side table and a hook with two hangers. The bathroom was a wet room with electric shower. This was fine for our needs, but it does raise ones expectations when the word 'deluxe' is used. The view from the balcony at the front of the bungalow was fabulous, we could see across sunset beach to Koh Adang. The air conditioning seemed less effective because there were small gaps between the floor boards, which let the heat in. This is no maid service.

Food: The Breakfast was served on a wooden terrace overlooking the beach. The view was lovely. The breakfast was basic but adequate (although I might have expected slightly more for the price I paid). There was one cooked option such as fried eggs, with toast, one cereal and one fruit option. If you came at the wrong time, the 'hot' option had cooled down somewhat. The views and location made up for the lack of choice!

Location/ grounds: The site is on a hill, therefore there are lots of steps to climb down to get to the place they service breakfast, then there are more steps to the beach. The beach is very nice, and much more quite than all the other beaches on the island. You can only swim at high tide on this beach, but this is also the case for Pattaya Beach.

Overall I feel this hotel is in a great quite location, but it's a bit expensive for the facilities it provides. It's adequate and clean, and the location on the beach made up for some of its down points.

Nice, adequate clean (Asian standard;)),comfortable bed and beautiful porch. The beach was a bit messy but that's not a problem of the hotel, but a general one of the island. We liked the food, the quietness and most of all the awesome staff. We will definitely stay there again when we get back to koh lipe.

We booked a seaview room but did not expect the rooms to be so tiny at the price we paid. Perhaps it was because it is a room with air condition and hot water shower. The bathroom was tiny as well that I felt I was showering on a sail boat. The drainage in our bathroom was poor as the drain hole was small and easily clogged up with hair and sand. It is a good thing we only stayed one night.

The bed and pillows are great though!! We didn't even use the aircond that night and not even the mosquito net over the bed with the windows open. That was a plus point.

Sunset beach has minimal traffic coming through the Adang/Lipe channel and the imposing mountain island which is Koh Adang gives the room a very idyllic view that lulls you. Great for reading on the balcony. We had a couple of sea hawks flying around and roosting on the mature trees nearby.

Beer, the resort manager is very accommodating and hands on and ever ready to assist you. Her warm nature is what everyone notes.

Great direct access to the beach via the restaurant on the deck, however not suitable for those who require walking aid as the stairs are steep. A short free ride to the regular beach access point would be advised.

Be sure to catch the intense sunset and visit the beach again late at night to enjoy the night sky and the serenity of a tropical island.

Large bungalows with comfortable beds. Friendly and help full staff. Quiet and beautiful part of the island. Free shuttle service to other parts on the island.
We stayed for two nights and than moved to another accommodation on the island.

With a view small improvements, I would haven given a better rating. Add clothing storage in bungalow, hook or shelf in bathroom.
Because of the price we would expect more options at the included breakfast and more frequent and thorough cleaning of the bungalows (replacing towels, empty trash can every day).

We spent five nights at the hut at the end of March.
Pros: beautiful location, very friendly and accommodating staff (they spoke very limited English but I don't speak any Thai so can't really hold that against them!) beautiful view from our room (which was clean and bug free), loved the complimentary snorkel gear and clear kayaks, cool air conditioning. The breakfast spread was varied, plentiful and tasty--their tom kha gai was the best I had during my entire trip. The free taxi service made getting around simple, they were always available and we could quickly get anywhere on the island; they would even set a time to come back and pick us up. The most spectacular sunset I've ever seen wss on this beach--and I grew up seeing the sun set into the Florida gulf hundreds of times.

Cons: only instant coffee, lukewarm shower, musty towels, a holey mosquito net and a cramped room that made it hard to settle in. I would have liked a little space to unpack, with no place to put our stuff the room was very cluttered. The service was fantastic, I wish the room and amenities felt a little more scaled up. I have backpacked and slept in huts with sand floors and hammocks over the years, so I am not picky, but for what we ended up paying--by far the most expensive stretch of our trip--i would have expected a step up on the accommodations, even given the spectacular location.

We still had a lovely stay.

Getting here was a nightmare.Due to my flight time into hat yai I had to get a taxi to pak bara pier which cost 1800 baht and took close to 3hrs.When you get to the pier they charge you to get in which is ridiculous considering you pay for a ticket. The speedboat was 650 baht and really bumpy.I got a motorbike taxi which was 50 baht and dropped me close to The Hut but I still had to drag all my luggage up to it.I was very stressed and annoyed when I finally reached The hut and was greeted with a lovely smile from the staff in reception and a hot towel and pineapple juice. They carried my bags from then on into my room.

This property is basic as some of the other reviews have said however they are bamboo huts in the trees so I was expecting that! The wifi isnt great as a result and too slow for streaming, however I wasn't here to watch TV.

The views are fantastic and it is so peaceful. At night you can hear the birds and the swaying of the palm trees

There is good aircon and a fan and the bed is comfortable and certainly not as hard as others I've experienced in Thailand.

You have to walk up and down very steep steps to get to and from the beach so great workout but unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.Sunset beach is beautiful and far quieter than the other beaches with far less horrible boats.

The staff are really nice and can't do enough for you, only one speaks good English but I didn't find it a problem to communicate using hand gestures etc with the others. They provide bottles of water and towels each day.

The breakfast is typically Thai which I enjoyed though perhaps fussy eaters or children may not. There is however cereal, fruit toast and eggs and then Thai dishes which change most days.

I only had one evening meal here, a green curry which was delicious and they made it without meat or fish at my request.

Clear bottomed Kayaks and snorkelling equipment are also offered for free. All in all I loved it here and would come back if Ko Lipe wasn't such a difficult place to get to.

What you pay for here is the view. Access to beach and away from the crowds. Managers are down to earth. Friendly. And helpful. Free trip into town (which I did less as loved being set away from it all.) No means luxury. But a delightful quirky stay. Get a hut with sea view.

This was our second visit to Koch lipe so chose the hut as in our opinion sunset beach is the quietest and most beautiful location on the island. I was so looking to our 7 night stay at the hut but was so disappointed when we arrived at the accommodation. The one bedroom chalet is just one very small room. Only 2 hangers no wardrobe not one drawer so had to live out of my bag for the week. We travel through Thailand a lot so very used to the types of accommodation and this one is really expensive for what you actually get. The worst part was the breakfast ! It was all served up at 7 and they have no way to keep it warm so unless you get there for 7 you will have cold fried egg 😢 also the selection of breakfast and quality of food is basic to say the least . Also food safety and hygiene is not good. The food is left out in the heat and not covered. I was actually sick one day and I'm sure it's because they leave the butter out which is in an old jar obviously it melts and then it is put back in the fridge again for the next day.
On the plus side the view is amazing and the staff were always happy to take us into town when ever we wanted.

Friendly and helpful staff, they are always be at your assistant. The Hut is located on the other side of the happening street of Koh Lipe. It's best to enjoy sunset. Quiet and peaceful, Away from all the noise and hassle. It's about 15minutes walk from the happening street but you can always take a taxi ride in and out of The Hut. The view from the room is poster perfect. And they do have see through kayak if you ever wanted to paddle out to the sea. The room is not that big but all the necessity is provided, air conditioning, heater, mosquito net. The breakfast are basic yet really delicious. If I ever going to koh lipe again, it will definitely be The Hut again. Hands up to the staff during my stay, making my stay memorable.

I've read some reviews about The Hut and honestly, i'm really shocked about the 5 stars ones.
Staff is great, no doubt on that. They are nice, gentle and they try to make you feel like home.
The problem guys is the structure: it's insulting to define the chalets comfortable.
We have booked the superior one and we had a shock when we realized how poor the accommodation was. almost no space to move into it if you have 2 medium luggage, mold spots on the walls, dirty floor (we found a comb left by the previous guests). But the best, let me say, is the bathroom: never seen a bathroom like that in my entire life. On the wooden floor is placed a gummy carpet so for the shower there is not a proper sewer: water just drain through the entire floor. The result? Water EVERYWHERE (on the WC as well) that never dry with consequential horrible smell that comes from the floor, which is obviously dirty.
Furthermore the entire structure shakes every and each time somebody walk on the wooden path in front of chalets: I assure you, that does not look safe at all.
Really I do not like to write negative reviews and I have appreciated a lot the staff which is simply exquisite but unfortunately the structure is really depressing.
