My wife and I truly enjoyed ourselves in this Akira Resort. We spent 3 nights from 15th Feb to 18th Feb. It was a wonderful experience right from the onset of checking in to the checking out. The Service crew were wonderful. Always smiling and accommodating. The Breakfast buffet was very good and they had a good spread of asian and western food that were tastefully prepared.
The Resport was located right on Pattaya beach where the sand was soft and powdery so location was awesome. it was also close to the immigration and ferry drop off from Langkawi.
The most amazing thing about akira is the rooms. We were very impressed with the size, cleanliness and the design of the room. It was just as you see in the pictures perhaps even better. The entire design of the resort was in fact impressive with lots of green plants and trees making it look cozy especially at nights. We will definately be going back there again. It was an amaing experience for both the wife and me.

This hotel was very good and we stayed here last minute after cancelling another hotel that we had doubts about from reading latest reviews. We had a private villa and to be honest it is worth the extra as the villa was large. The only negative is there are gaps in the doors and windows that let in several mosquitoes

They do provide a plug in mosquito repellent, lotion sachets and an air purifier in the Villa

The pool was very good and clean, well maintained
One of the best locations on Pattaya Beach. Pattaya Beach was actually for us, the best beach as it wasn’t windy and close enough to Lipe Walking Street which was really good

Try Elephant restaurant and Noy restaurant for fantastic food on walking street

There is general maintenance to the villas required but well worth the money to stay in the villa, if you can get it at a good price
From professional photos, there was an upstairs seated area of the resort not in use. This is a shame as it would have had spectacular views during sunset and not made the pool area so busy. This review was written in peak season and they claimed to be fully booked so why was this area closed?

The resort is staffed by mostly young people who did not appear to have a great deal of customer experience - this could be rectified quickly with investment in training. An example is when we asked if we could stay an extra 5 days, the receptionist said that she will look into it and leave a message in our room. However two days later when we checked out and I queried why she hadn’t contacted me, she said she forgot and I expected much better customer service

One thing that we really enjoyed was a nightly fire show on the beach after dark. This is a must and we recommend you watch it. You don’t have to be a customer, you can just stand on the periphery and it’s every 30 minutes from 8.30pm or so

Breakfast was very good. Particularly the eggs station where the chef made really good omelettes and fab French toast.

The resort is quite young and trendy and could be better if there was more investment from the management in both the maintenance and staff training.

We enjoyed five wonderful nights at Akira. The property is right on Pattaya Beach, which is where all the boats arriving from other Thai islands come in, as well as the boats from Langkawi. A swim up pool bar welcomes you to the resort, the water was very inviting! All staff were incredibly courteous and kind (as you would expect in a Thai resort). We were informed prior to arrival that our originally booked room would not be available on our first night as there was an issue with the air conditioning unit. When we arrived they apologised for this, and put us in a slightly lower room category for the first night. For the issues we faced, we were offered a complimentary set menu dinner for one of the nights of our trip, which more than made up for it in my opinion. The room we eventually enjoyed for four nights was lovely. The room itself was really spacious, with a massive bed, plenty of storage space and a large and well equipped bathroom. Our taps were a bit leaky during our stay, their design is a bit strange, and we struggled to stop water from coming out of the fixtures. We did inform staff about this and they did come to fix it for us. The main draw of this room type though was the walk in pool, directly from our balcony. Amazing! The water was so incredible and being able to do this directly from your room was such a wonderful novelty, it never got old! Breakfast was great, with plenty of Asian and Western options. The swim up pool bar area played some excellent tunes during the day. They offer a happy hour on cocktails and spirits from 4-8pm which was great for watching the wallet a bit! Leaving Koh Lipe by boat is a little bit of an arduous process, which isn't any form of criticism of the hotel at all. They were kind to hurry us along with getting out of our room in time and offered us a free lift to the Bundhaya jetty (at the other end of Pattaya Beach) free of charge. Annoyingly, you have to get to the jetty no later than 60 minutes before your boat departs so we missed breakfast on the final day, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy brekkie on the final day! Thanks for a lovely stay :)

The hotel setting is gorgeous however the customer service is terrible and below par for a hotel of this standard/price point. The reception staff is badly trained. I have spent 4 nights at this hotel at their villa (one of the most expensive rooms on the property). When asked if it was possible to check out slightly later (1 hour extra which is normally possible at any 4-5 star hotels), I was told that the rooms were fully booked the next day and I need to leave at 12pm on the dot by Na at reception. The reality is that I have spoken to the manager and to Pop the day before to explore the possibility of an extra day’s extension and was advised that it is a non issue with good availability. Also when I checked on agoda and booking.com, there was plenty of rooms of this particular room type available.
If it was the hotel’s policy to not be flexible to long stay guests in their villas, then they could have just communicated this rather than to lie about full occupancy when it isn’t true. When I have asked for the manager for an explanation, there was no apologies nor explanation in their lack of honesty.

Oh and if you are not Caucasian, expect the team to just automatically assume that you speak mandarin and they will start babbling to you in Chinese regardless if you understand the language or not (which I don’t being UK based). I find this incredibly rude and presumptuous.

The other annoying this is that I have asked for a tuk tuk to be booked for 530am the night before to catch the sunrise on the other beach but none was organised so I was left waiting until close to 6am before they managed to find one which is then too late for the sunrise.

Prior to arrival, there is also zero communication about pick ups etc from the ferry drop off point. It needs the customers to actually call them than for them to be proactive. My friends whom booked a different hotel on the island (way cheaper hotel) have been contacted and provided with useful information on transfers etc.

For the room, there is leaks all around the basin unit and the jacuzzi actually has yellow dirty water with black particles swirling on activation.

The only good thing about this hotel is the F&B team that is attentive and makes every effort otherwise I would say that this hotel is beyond terrible for customer service.

Given the review above, if you have the patience to deal with incompetence then this is a hotel for you. Otherwise steer clear to avoid having your vacation compromised with lies and inability to get things organised.

A great place. Service food and location
Get the unit with pool side access. The pool is 4.5 feet deep but it’s accessible via your patio. It’s worth it.

They pick you up at pier and drop you off although it’s only a 3 min walk. Also a 4 min walk to walking street.

Akira Hotel is an excellent hotel directly on Pattaya Beach in Koh Lipe. We stayed 6 nights in the superior Pool View Room which had all the ammenities for a very comfortable stay. Our room came with king bed and a day bed on which my son who is 6 ft tall could sleep very comfortably. We looked forward to the excellent breakfast every morning with many choices of western and thai food. Happy hours at the pool bar facing the sea was the our daily highlight. Location is just few hops away from the ferry drop off point and the concierge was waiting to guide us to the hotel and help with our luggage....and less than 5 mins walk to walking street. Staff are courteous and we had the opportunity to chat with the very pleasant General Manager. Would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return in Dec 2023.

I've recently stayed at Akira and would like to praise the fabulous service and delicious food.

The staff - in particular Khun Ek - went out of their way to be helpful and made sure I felt comfortable and welcome.

I loved the rich breakfast. They served everything from healthy food to omelets, fruits, Thai rice and noodle dishes and creamy buns, and a lot more.

And dinner...som tam crab and meat dishes were mouth-watering, juicy and definitely tickled my tastebuds.

The room was clean and in a quiet location. In a nutshell, I'll definitely stay there again.

Currently we are staying at this hotel and I would like to express my opinion about the first feelings. Trying shortly!
To start with, photos were made at the period of hotel opening, therefore they does not reflect the reality. The rooms are quite updated, but other things otside are deffinately worned down, incl gym, sunbeds, toilets, furniture and etc.
Secondly, the sea color is amazing, however yiu can swim in it only between 12-15, since in the morning it is very shallow, and later jellyfish occur.
Thirdly, the burning smell from the waste factory is felt in the balcony. Thefore, you can use this pretty place only in the morning, while in the evening mosquites occur.
Moreover, breakfast is very sad... Feels like in All inclusive caffeteria in cheap Turkish hotels, meanwile when you traveling in such tropical country it is important part of the day. Poor variety of fruits, European food. The atmosphere is not sexy at all!
Huge part of the stuff try being polite, but looks like they dont understand anything and act very unnnatural!
That's the first experience! Hope it will help someone!

I spend here several days with my family, the location is nice, the hotel is directly in front of a marvellous 🏖️ beach.
Coming back to the bedroom, our was quite large and comfortable, cleaned every day, unfortunately the aircon was really noisy.
The breakfast comes with wide choice of food, time is also flexible, definitely a good choice.
Nice restaurant is also available for lunch as well as for dinner, the majority of dishes are Thai food but also other types of kitchen can be tested.
I recommend this hotel, my experience was more than positive.

Came to Koh Lipe and because of both this place and the island fell in love with it. Had the swim up room once more and again was on point. Our cleaner was always polite helpful and left the room in perfect condition. The pools are great and a tip if you want a cooler pool the back ones are a few degrees lower than the main pool with swim up bar. Cocktails and service up there on the beach are top shelf and never fail. All staff were brilliant and always ready to help, welcome you back say hello or leave you to yourself as needed. only criticism is the breakfast buffet you occasionally had to hunt down the egg station chef but the beach is clean, chairs are always available, same as by the pool and loved how the staff also cleaned up towels if no one had been seen near them from over an hour.

@woolmore Good Morning from Akira Lipe resort. Frankly speaking, regarding about the different between Deluxe pool access are the big bathtub, rain shower and sliding door between shower room and bedroom. About the terrace it not much different as both is facing swimming pool and they also have same furniture. Should you need more information please contact our reservation team through hotel website or Facebook. Have a good. Akira Team
