I booked a garden view with air con. It was our wedding anniversary and they but flowers on the bed and wrote happy anniversary with them. It's not on the beach but furthest away, no real view of beach, but it is feels secluded, quiet, no noise from long-tail boats. It was ideal for me. Bungalow lush wooden bed so comfortable and pillows too, has mosquito net around, I always get bitten and I did. Outside lovely big veranda with cushions but could have done with 2 chairs to sit on instead of bamboo area. Other bungalows did but not our chosen one. Staff really friendly. Breakfast good and good choices. If you want room cleaned you put key in reception before 2pm otherwise they leave you alone. Hotel area quiet really early, no where to get a drink. We walked to walking street about 10 minutes or you can try and get a taxi. They close around 12pm. Beach area fantastic I would definitely come back and have same room. S25.

We stayed at Lipe Beach Resort in a family room. Our room was the middle one so we had an enormous bathroom. The verandah out the front is very big with plenty of room for drying clothes, towels and snorkelling gear. There is a lovely big bench with cushions so you can sit out there and watch the world go by. Very close to the beach and a roped off snorkelling area. The breakfast is great and right on the beach. Beach bar and meals and snacks are also fabulous. About 15 minute walk to walking street.

Good part first. The big trees around the resort were lovely and offered much needed shade. We had a great waitress every morning serving breakfast, Sarina. She is gold. Then the bad part. We paid bhat 2,331 per day/night for a room with a bed and 2 hangers - and breakfast. There was absolutely nowhere to put your things/clothes but on the floor. There was a fan on the top of the end wall, but it was still very hot in the room as there were no mosquito net for the windows and therefore not safe to open due to the many mosquitos. This resulted in lack of or poor sleep. We have no problems with heat when you can leave windows open during the night and get some air in from the outside. We asked to have 2 plastic chairs for our small porch, but that was not possible. They said that they had none to spare! And a general note. There are longtail boats everywhere outside the swimming area in front of the resort. Unfortunately, these boats do not respect that this is a swimming area. We saw boats crossing the area when children were swimming there. Crazy!

A large hotel, 9 beachfront rooms, then a further 4 rows behind, so nearly 50 rooms, 100 people, just 20 sunbeds on the beach. The claiming towels were out by 07.00, all claimed by 07.45. Our beach front room had a great view, straight onto the sand. A decent size room, double bed, good a/c, fridge and a safe. No tv might concern some people. WiFi was poor. The password is given to hotel guests, restaurant users, people having a drink. It becomes impossible to get on. Very poor. Breakfast was a set choice of 10 different types, from chicken sausage, ham, eggs, toast butter jam, juice and tea or coffee, continental or Asian choices. A good start to the day. It's on one of the better stretches of the lovely Sunrise beach, although shaded by the tall trees from 4pm onwards. At the end of the day beach front view on a lovely island is what you are here for.

We really liked this resort... Staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach was kept clean and tidy and the breakfast was excellent. We would defo recommend to anyone. Couple of little things that we thought might be good.... We didn't need our room cleaning everyday but maybe a toilet roll with the water on the balcony when it's not being cleaned.... And also there was an issue with jelly fish while we were there and this seems to be regular problem... So maybe a shower on the beach so you can cool down. These aren't critisms just couple of little things we thought we improve.

We stayed in a bungalow facing the sea which had 2 chairs and a table on the decking .The bed was comfortable, and it had a small sofa. The bathroom was primitive with a low powered shower and just painted plywood .The room let in too many mosquitoes.U had air conditioning and a net over the bed but it felt like glamping.the breakfast was poor with hard toast egg and a awlful sausage and ham.the hotel beach area was nice but had hard plastic subbed so u had to put a cushion on them .It was a ten minute walk to walking street with lots restaurants .It was a pleasant stay with friendly staff but I’d pay a bit more and go elsewhere. We stayed for five nights then moved to the Mali’s sunrise hotel which was fabulous ( see separate review)

I found it quite difficult to rate this hotel , it’s more than an average but doesn’t rate as very good in my opinion. The good points - the location on sunrise beach was great. We had a front row hut directly facing the beach and sea and the view was amazing . I thought the hotel bar was good , service friendly , food was really nice , although breakfast was a bit limited . Had a couple of massages from the lovely ladies at the massage area and they were great and very reasonable . The free bottles of water everyday were a nice touch . All the staff were very nice and friendly . The not so good points - even though the beachfront hut was pretty expensive the facilities within it were pretty basic . Obviously I wasn’t expecting the Ritz but there was hardly anywhere to hang any clothes and the small area there was only had 4 hangers . No drawer space, not even any hooks or rails . We were staying for a week and didn’t want to live out of a suitcase , so as a consequence we had to use the sofa and it’s mosquito net as a make shift clothes storage area. Fridge was a bonus but it was very old and rusty. The problem also was that all the electrics in the room only worked if the key fob was in it’s little container thing . So when you went out the fridge turned off , so if you were out for a long time you came back to warm drinks . The bathroom was very very basic , the shower and the toilet were in the same area which was not ideal as the toilet was soaking wet after someone had been in the shower . The shower itself was not good , there was an overhead raindrop shower which wasn’t connected to the electric shower so was freezing cold and the hand held that was connected was luke warm at best and not very good . We had no pipe under the sink so when you pulled the rusty plug up the water just poured onto the floor . The light was really dim so you had to get ready for your night out whilst it was still light as otherwise you couldn’t see anything ( only mirror was in the bathroom). No where to hang towels and very little space to put toiletries and the shelf wasn’t straight either . As mentioned at the beginning of the review I do appreciate it’s a hut on the beach but for the money we paid for it I would have expected the facilities to be a bit better than they were . The bar and the restaurant closed very early but I suppose they feel there is no need to stay open any later as Walking Street was a 15 minute walk away . We did eat at the restaurant a few times and as mentioned already I thought the food was very nice . A problem we did have though when all 13 of us were eating there , the waiting staff didn’t speak English so when they brought the dishes up they just put them on the table and left us to work out what and whose they were . This led to a lot of confusion and people eating the wrong dinners . Would I stay here again? Not sure .

Well located on sunrise beach. Beach front villa was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was ordinary. Have stayed in quite a number of resorts in Thailand esp. Phuket, Krabi, Bangkok, Chiang Mai .... but never have I experienced such cold and unfriendly staffs as we did in Lipe Beach resort. Not in my preferred list.

We stopped here for a bite to eat after a long walk along Sunrise Beach. The food was delicious! Best Pad Thai we had in Koh Lipe. Papaya Salad also scrumptious. Washed down with a mango fruit shake, yum! Friendly service and decent prices too. Super!

I will keep this brief. Pros: Location is great, on a very wide stretch of sunrise beach, with table and beach platforms to lounge on during the day, a swimming area cordoned off from the log tails, right next to Forra Diving and a short walk down from Zodiac. The drive in is a bit rough and it is at least a 10 minute walk to walking street. Food is decent, included breakfast is pretty mediocre. Rooms are pretty typical simple bungalows, AC only in the more expensive room. Cons: Expensive for what it is, at least in high season. Same price point as the Idyllic, which I think has better facilities. The one thing I found shocking was the bad service. In particular, the main waiter in the restaurant can be very unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked him the bring me some ice, he told me to go to the bar and get it myself. Excuse me bro, isn’t your only job being a waiter? Yesterday, I ordered some simple noodle soup. Waited for 30 minutes. When I asked where the soup was, I was told the kitchen was busy and it would be another 20 minutes. 50 minutes for some soup? Also, WTF didn’t you tell me about the delay when I first sat down? Not sure whether the place is understaffed or what, but not sure I have ever had such consistently bad service and bad attitude anywhere else in Thailand. I should say that the bartenders are cool guys, very friendly. So yeah, love the beach, indifferent to the room, found it to be a bit expensive and I thought the service was really quite bad, especially for Thailand.
