We had an amazing stay at Serendipity Beach Resort and had a lovely villa with terrace. We were lucky enough to stay over Christmas and it’s far enough away from the rest of the crowds of Koh Lipe to feel lovely and secluded. The staff were brilliant and the breakfast is truly incredible and delivered to your door which is a real treat too. The staff serving the rooms also looked after our room really well. My only slight niggles (and they are fairly minor) is that the beach definitely isn’t private which was advertised so just be prepared to share the space with others. The food in On the Rocks was lovely and the service was good BUT my partner asked for the cocktail list for Happy Hour on Christmas Eve and we were told ‘oh we’re not doing that tonight as we don’t need to as we’re busy enough’, not an ideal way to treat residents! When my partner then discussed it with the Resort Manager, we didn’t hear anything until we visited the restaurant the next day and the F&B Manager gave us grief, rather than apologising to us he said we were bad for going behind his back etc etc. Anyway, this left us feeling slightly upset and when you’re paying a lot to stay somewhere you expect to be looked after. Having said that, I’d still recommend staying here and would stay again …but I just hope the F&B and Resort Managers become more joined up in their approach to customer service.

We stayed in Serendipity for one week and had a marvellous room with private pool overlooking the sea with 100° view. Just Amazing!

When you wake up in the morning and open the curtains and look onto the sea with the turkeys and blue and green colours, a long tail boat passing … You jump into your pool and wait for the breakfast to be brought to your room. This is just paradise!

The private bungalows are located on the slopes of a hill on the south eastern part of the island.
Due to its location, the traffic of long tail boats is much less than on other parts of the island. Therefore, the atmosphere in the hotel and the rooms is very quiet and peaceful.
Since every room has its own pool, there is no main pool, but the beach is just a couple of steps away from every room.
The beach is one of the nicest we have ever seen. There are no beach beds but a small stretch of sand with natural shade from the nearby palm trees and other trees. You step into the water and after only 30 meters you can snorkel around the coral reefs. There is drink and food service on the beach, but we found it more convenient to walk up the view steps into the restaurant. From there you have an amazing view on the colourful sea and skies.

Breakfast is served in the room. Luxury!

Even though it is rather expensive for Thailand, we loved every minute Serendipity.
100% good feelings.

They are great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
They come to pick you up at the port by boat, the general director comes in person, Nu! They take your suitcases to your room. It is the 100% Thai experience. Beautiful hotel, room with infinity pool inside, hammock, they bring all the food to your room and breakfast too, at 4pm they come to put the net on so you can sleep without mosquitoes and incense at night You can bathe in the pool in the room, it is illuminated, beautiful bathroom. There are kayaks that you can use for free, as well as masks and a snorkel tube. They welcome you with a delicious fruit punch, and the staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. A true relaxation and care for your soul!! They have the most beautiful beach in Koh Lipe in front, with a swing, it's all idyllic! Incredible views of a small island in front, which in the afternoon you can walk to because the tide goes out. Spectacular, we will be back!!! If you want to see photos, stop by @itismarieprattmusic

We loved the location of the hotel and how each villa is private, has a great view on the sea and a magnificent sunrise.
We stayed in a pool villa, and loved the room. It’s all in wood, has a lot of charm, the room was very large, a tropical interior design and we had a great terrace and enjoyed the little private pool a lot.
The food at the restaurant is excellent, probably the best meals we had during our trip in Thailand. I loved the lobster Pad Thai !
Breakfast is served in the room and we enjoyed this concept. There is a lot of choice for breakfast and one can choose the time and the food is delivered in the room.
The staff is very polite and hospitable and friendly.
True there are lot of stairs to the beach or the restaurant, so better be in good shape and don’t drink too much at dinner.
The hotel is located at the end of sunrise beach, just in front of a coral reef with many fishes. It’s very easy to walk to Walking Street either on the beach or on the road, in both cases about 15 minutes.
There were no negative points, apart the AirCon that was a bit noisy at first.
We spent six beautiful days in this tropical heaven on Koh Lipe

After having read some reviews we were divided but too much in love with the location and the pictures so we took a leap of faith!

We stayed in Deluxe Pool Villa and here we are ro share our experience: first and foremost - first class guest experience. Great staff, management, foreigner lady speaking many languages, everyone made our stay really pleasant and stress free. Great organisation. The resort is run smoothly and all the requests are attended to immediately.

The accommodation itself - I mean.. it’s stunning. Beautiful, actually very clean but now I understand the reviews as the wood wears off easily. They were doing some renovation works though.

The room is cleaned daily, with sheets being changed every other day. The pool was brilliant and a lot of privacy so I basically woke up and dipped in naked with the most breathtaking sunrise view. Breakfast in delivered to the room/pool. Variety of Thai and western dishes to choose from plus selection of fresh bakery and fresh fruits. Kept us full til dawn.

Rooms are spacious and well equipped, waiting cooled down for you when you. Coffee machine in the room. Kayaking and snorkelling equipment available free of charge.

The beach is most likely the most beautiful on the whole island. Fine sand, clear blue water, corals within swimming reach.

Food in the restaurant is delicious and room service is free. The food might be pricey in comparison to Bangkok or North of Thailand but that was to be expected.

Honestly we didn’t want to leave either the resort or the island. Magical.

The only downfall are the mosquitos on the entire island but the resort is well prepared with the spiral deterrents, electric, balms and nets.

Not for us! This resort sadly disappointed and we’re baffled at all the good reviews because our experience was not great. The rooms are ok, quite rustic but comfortable. However It’s misleading to say this is a hotel with a pool as there’s no central pool for guests, only individual pools in some villas. The secluded beach is a tiny strip of sand with no sunbeds for serendipity’s guests, only for 10 moons customers. We ended up decamping to the Idyllic resort every day which is far better in our view.

Breakfast is average but it’s ridiculous that they serve it in the room. The hot food is cold and the cold stuff is warm and melted by the time it arrives. You have to decide what you want and what time the day beforehand. We’re used to having breakfast in a restaurant and being served, it’s the best part of the day for us to take our time and not have absolutely everything you’ve ordered cereal/eggs/toast all served at the same time. We did ask if we could come down to the restaurant one morning but we didn’t get offered any tea or coffee and they still served it all at once. All in all, we felt it was poor customer service.

The staff are friendly enough but to be honest we didn’t feel like they knew who we were but we didn’t spend any time at the resort so maybe that’s understandable.

We’re seasoned Thailand visitors and regrettably this is the worst hotel we’ve stayed in. I think it’s more a fancy restaurant with a view and a few rooms bolted on but it’s certainly not a proper beach resort.

Excellent restaurant staff!

We visited Koh Lipe twice, in 2023 and 2025, and this place never failed to excite us with its food and experience. The stunning view, combined with the delicious food, made every visit unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly, making us feel at home with their friendly service.

The menu offers a great variety of fresh seafood and local Thai dishes, each cooked to perfection. Whether it was the perfectly grilled prawns, rich and flavorful curries, or refreshing tropical drinks, every bite was a delight. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste showed the chefs’ dedication to quality.

Beyond the food, the ambiance added to the overall experience. Sitting by the beach, enjoying a meal with the sound of the waves in the background, was truly relaxing. Even during busy hours, the staff remained attentive and ensured we had everything we needed.

Returning in 2025, we were happy to see the same level of excellence. The consistency in service and food quality was impressive. Koh Lipe is already a paradise, but dining here made it even more special. Looking forward to coming back again!

I like to pool views through out to the swa on the hills.

DELUXE pool villa is great to stay but Inlike Pool Villa with small island views.
